KELLIE SKATER ADDED TO ALL APRIL SHIMMER EVENTS!
SHIMMER – WOMEN ATHLETES is proud announce the addition of “Rate Tank” KELLIE SKATER to all of our April events! She will be a part of SHIMMER 53 on April 6th as part of WrestleCon at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ, as well as SHIMMER 54-57 on April 13th & 14th at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL!
Kellie Skater is a fantastic example of hard work and dedication paying great dividends in professional wrestling. During the middle of 2009, the Bacchus Marsh, Australia native made her first trip to America, with only the promise of getting an opportunity as part of the SPARKLE pre-show matches prior to the SHIMMER 23-26 tapings in Berwyn, IL. Kellie was ultimately put on the main show that weekend, and in the time since has become a SHIMMER regular, appearing on every show.
Much of Kellie’s early run in SHIMMER consisted of reminding the fans in attendance that she is “indestructible,” while issuing open challenges for anyone in the locker room to fight her. More often than not, that over confidence ended up backfiring, as Skater was on the receiving end of a lot of beatings from some of the top names in the sport. Though it may not have resulted in the most impressive record, each of those matches proved to be valuable learning experiences for the Rate Tank.
In recent years, Skater has branched out far beyond simply wrestling in Australia and the United States, as she has ventured to both Canada and Japan on several occasions as well. As time has passed, the SHIMMER fans have witnessed Kellie’s true growth as an athlete, resulting in highly competitive matches during 2012 against the likes of Ray, Kana, and Yumi Ohka, among others. Soon Skater was not only fighting the top talent in the sport, but she was also defeating them. SHIMMER 51 saw Kellie participate in her first SHIMMER main event, challenging for the SHIMMER Championship, with everyone in the Berwyn Eagles Club showing their support.
For the first quarter of 2013, Skater has been on an extended tour of Japan, wrestling for many of the top promotions in the country, including Stardom and Pro Wrestling WAVE, while also continuing to train regularly at the ZERO1 dojo under Ikuto Hidaka. Skater and Tomoka Nakagawa formed the “Global Green Gangstas” (or “3G”) tag team late last year in SHIMMER, and have continued to work as a unit in Japan during the time since. Kellie will return to North America during late March to be a part of NCW Femmes Fatales XI in Montreal, followed by all of the SHIMMER events during April in the States. The future certainly looks very bright for Kellie Skater, one of the true breakout talents in professional wrestling.
SHIMMER RETURNS TO BERWYN APRIL 13th & 14th!
SHIMMER Women Athletes returns to the Berwyn Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL on Saturday & Sunday, April 13th & 14th, 2013. Volumes 54-57 of the SHIMMER series will be filmed during the course of that weekend.
Tickets for the April 13th & 14th events are now on sale. Front row reserved seating is already SOLD OUT for the entire weekend. General admission tickets are priced at $30 per full day of taping, and can be purchased using the PayPal buttons at the link below.
