RAW Riposte
Date Added: July 27, 2010
Story By: Patrick Jackson
Welcome back to the RAW Riposte. This isn't my best work, but I still tried to put something out. Lets get started...

We start off RAW with John Cena. He says for the past 7 weeks that Nexus wreaked havoc on RAW, until last week. Last week the RAW superstars fought back, friends or enemies it doesn't matter. At SummerSlam they end Nexus. Cena said he isn't Superman. John, you are right. You aren't Superman...you are SuperCena! Anyway, out comes Chris Jericho. We have ourselves a Y2J chant. Jericho said he came out because Cena said "My Team". Jericho didn't get involved to be on Cena's team, he got involved because of his problems with Wade Barrett. Jericho said this is his team. Cena said fine, it is your team. Cena doesn't care, he just wants to beat Nexus. Jericho rants on until Cena hits away his mic. Cena says it isn't about us...it is about our damn business. Did he say "damn"? Oh My God! He said "damn" again. My virgin ears! Jericho picks up his mic and says he Nexus isn't the only threat to the company. The other threat? John Cena. Once SummerSlam is over, he is attention is turned to John Cena. Do I smell another Career vs Career match? Reports say Jericho wants some time off, I could see them doing this again. I definitely wouldn't mind it. You got mail! The GM said that the match at SummerSlam is an Elimination Match. He said Nexus will be in there own Elimination Match tonight. Also, Cena and Jericho will tag up and take on an opponent of the GM's choosing. If you aren't down with that, I've got two words for ya! I bet you the GM is DX! Yeah right.

We get back from commercial and we have our first match of the night.

1. Randy Orton vs Jey Uso
Sheamus is ringside. Has anyone ever sat at ringside and not try to get involved? Did you know Sheamus rose to the top quicker than anyone ever in the WWE? Of course he did. HHH loves him. Anyway, Orton with an RKO for the win. Orton stares down Sheamus, until Jimmy Uso attacks Orton. Orton fights back until Sheamus comes into the ring tries to kick Orton but hits Jimmy instead. Orton then RKOs Sheamus. Out comes The Miz, he is cashing in. Before the bell rings, Orton RKOs The Miz. I like what they are doing with The Miz and the MITB briefcase. I like they are teasing us with it every time Sheamus goes down.
Rating: *1/4

Edge is backstage, and he talking to Ted. Maryse is with him, and of course it i a big plus. God she is hot. Anyway, Edge doesn't want Khali on the team. Neither do I Edge, neither do I.

Back from commercial we see The Miz and Sheamus arguing until...E-Mail Time!!!!!!!!! Cole says the GM has found the team to face Jericho and Cena tonight...Sheamus and The Miz.

Backstage Edge is on the phone, until Khali came in and was angry. Don't care.

2. Edge vs The Great Khali
Just a match to get Nexus over. Nexus came out, Edge and Singh ran off. Klahi couldn't get away so Nexus surrounded him, but they let him get away anyway.
Rating: NR

We find out who is facing Nexus. Bunch of scrubs and Evan Bourne and THD.

3. Nexus vs Scrubs, Bourne, and THD
It was an elimination match, they put over Nexus so people will take them more seriously. 15 minutes, but it wasn't very good. Barrett pinned Bourne for the win.
Rating: *1/2

After the match, Nexus talked about how they are a group that works together unlike Team Cena. It's weird how the WWE is booking this so far. The WWE team can't work together, don't like each other. While they are making the Nexus a cohesive unit that can't be stopped so they look like the favorite. I think they would have the WWE group look great, to only have one of the WWE guys turn on them. What do I know though?

Backstage, Sheamus and The Miz pretty much told each other they don't like one another, they don't trust each other, and they don't shower with each other. OK...I made up the last part, but you know, usual heel stuff.

4. Alicia Fox vs Nikki Bella
Fox won with the Axe Kick a la Booker T. Alicia attacked Jillian after the match. Damn, this is a BAD RAW.
Rating: 1/4*

5. Ted Dibiase vs John Morrison
This was like 4 minutes. Just to put under the WWE Team because they had Morrison and R-Truth get into a fight. Maryse was out there as well which makes this somewhat worthwhile.
Rating: 3/4*

Truth and Morrison argued up the ramp and Cena looked with a discouraging work on his face.

Josh Matthews interviews Orton backstage, and Orton will win at SummerSlam no matter who is champion. Orton needs a catch phrase. That should be the #2 rule in wrestling (besides being able to wrestle), have a catch phrase. If you don't have a catch phrase GTFO.

6. Sheamus and The Miz vs John Cena and Chris Jericho
Pretty long match. Not horrible, but not great either. Everyone knew Jericho was going to turn on Cena so we were waiting for that. Positive Note...The Miz pinned John Cena. After the match Cena countered out of the Walls of Jericho with the STF. Khali, Edge, Morrison, and Truth came out. It ended with our questioning how this "team" can win.
Rating: **

Star of the Night
Maryse - Look at her. Although Orton deserves some props too.

Thoughts
Not good at all. Just wasn't a fan of this. 4.5/10 is my rating. Harsh? Probably, but was just a bad week. Hopefully we get back on track next week.

I'll probably write again next week, and hopefully I'll be a little more motivated. Maybe this week I'll write up an actual column? We'll see. Don't be shocked to see something.
