Adam Ryland was able to take some time to have an answer and question session for Total Extreme Wrestling 2005 with fans of the series. Our customers had a lot of great questions and we appreciate everyone that logged on to attend.
Q: IWWROCKS- When someone dies, are they removed from the screen or do they stay on for an eternity Adam Ryland- IWW, they stay in the database so that you can still read their history
Q: Lux- Adam Ryland, does the "acting" skill boost comedy wrestler's match ratings? Adam Ryland- No, acting is just for angles interviews and possibly going off for movies
Q: IWWROCKS- Is there a limit to how much angles/matches you can book in a storyline? Adam Ryland- IWW, yes, there's a limit, but I haven't decided how big the limit is yet
Q: Forlan- What are all of the new stats? Adam Ryland- Forlan, almost all the stats you already know - TEW2004 + the ones announced for TEW2005
Q: Game- In TEW04, the worth thing I had happen was a backstage brawl between two workers, will there be more backstage activity in TEW05? Adam Ryland- Yes, there's a lot of backstage activity and random incidents
Q: Lux- Can you put guys into rehab for drug problems? Adam Ryland- Yes
Q: blackthorne- Can titles be defended in other promotions. Adam Ryland- No, see the forum
Q: ViggoVickers-Will u be able to interact with the other workers in such a way as WreSpi, which can effect your relationships Adam Ryland- Viggo, not in the same manner, you can't just walk around backstage. Your relationships come from how you deal with your workers as their boss.
Q: Forlan- What are the new promotion styles except for Family Friendly and Underground, or can you not say yet? Adam Ryland- Forlan - Family Friendly, Underground, 4 variations of Lucha Libre, and 3 variations of Womans feds, plus the ones from TEW2004
Q: Game- Okay... I had the idea for minor feuds and major feuds.... Is there anyway the game can keep up with one wrestler against another, without it being a storyline? Game- For Instance, HHH is feuding with Shawn Michaels, but has a month long spat with Shelton Benjamin Adam Ryland- Game, no. But if they were facing each other multiple times, you would just set it to be a storyline consisting entirely of matches
Q: CAMJP- Will workers be able to be involved in more than one storyline at the same time? Adam Ryland- CAMJP, no, not at the moment, but that might change
Q: BigDirty- Will there be some form of scouting in the game? like you have a head scout that from time to time tells to take a closer look at wresler x and y because they might be interesting for your promotion. Adam Ryland- BigDirty, there is no scouting, as everyone's stats are already visible. You can ask your booking team for suggestions on who to sign, and they will give you an overview of the top workers available within certain criteria, which is like scouting
Q: Dark-Cadence- Once you've reached the 12 months, and you get a little note about the stats getting better does it say like "so and so has improved in brawling by __ points?" or does it say "so and so has gone up to a B- in brawling" Adam Ryland- Dark Cadence, you don't get notes - you have access to their stats history at all times, so you could just look if you're interested in a certain worker
Q: blackthorne- When you book matches in advance is it possible to book the situation with it. Adam Ryland- blackthorne - no, you just book the match type (1vs1,2vs2,etc), the stip is done when you book the card
Q: Forlan- If someone is really gaining a lot of momentum will one freak loss take their momentum really far down or just take it down a bit? Adam Ryland- Forlan, momentum is based on real life, so no, one loss wouldn't cause a massive crash, unless it was a really stupid loss, like you'd made him invincible and he lost in 30 seconds to a jobber, cleanly
Q: CAMJP- What are the four variations of Lucha Libre? Adam Ryland- CAMJPP - Lucha Traditiona, Lucha Extreme, Lucha Pure, and Lucha Entertainment
Q: javier_83- Any new types of contracts? Adam Ryland- Yes, there's an Exclusive Pay-per-apperance, which is like a written, but with all the advantages of a verbal deal
Q: Forlan- Can you offer someone a straight developmental contract rather than sign them then drop them to development and lose them morale Adam Ryland- Forlan, yes, that problem has been addressed
Q: javier_83- the internet secion is back? Adam Ryland- The internet section is being considered, it depends on some other features first
Q: ViggoVickers- Is there anyway a number 1 contender is recongized? Adam Ryland- Viggo - no, but they're not really recognised in reality either, except in special circumstances.
Q: Forlan- Can shows be set up as a strictly tournament show such as Super 8 or Ted Petty Invitational etc. so that AI runs it a sa tournament also? Adam Ryland- Forlan, no, that's not supported

Q: jbmagic- can characters retire in tew 2005? PhilParent- Yeah PhilParent- They can die too
Q: CAMJP- Will there be different types of tournaments? Adam Ryland- The tournaments will be part of the booking
Q: Lux- Do the staff members have more specific jobs or are they still just staff members? Adam Ryland- Lux, staff are gone - they were a pain in the ass, and more of a chore than fun. They're now signed automatically by the AI for you.
Q: Briareos- Could you say run multiple feds? Like a lucha fed in mexico and a strong style fed in japan? Adam Ryland- Briareous, no - it's one fed per person.
Q: Forlan- If you are on good terms with a promotion do they allow you to use their workers on your shows if they dont have a show that night, ala IWA:MS with NWA:NL? Adam Ryland- Forlan, that would depend if you had that worker on your roster - you'd have to sign them, with the other fed's permission, perhaps only for that one show
Q: ViggoVickers- manner aspects in TEW2004 would cover single and tag (e.g. tournements), but miss out 6 man, will 6 mans be as well covered as the other 2 in TEW2005? Adam Ryland- Viggo, not sure, that'd be booking again
Q: BigDirty- will you be able to take control of the MMA feds this time? Adam Ryland- MMA aren't in as actual feds.
Q: ViggoVickers- adam, will a converter be released before the game? Adam Ryland- Yes, the converter will be out first
Q: MisterCha- hey adam what about those 7 new fed types mmmmmmmm Adam Ryland- Mistercha, that was answered earlier, you'll have it in the log
Q: ViggoVickers- In the converter, will it also act as an editor, so u can fill in the new areas? Adam Ryland- No, you'd need the real editor for that Viggo
Q: CAMJP- are wrokers limited to 3 contracts still? Adam Ryland- It's unlimited
Q: javier_83- What about the tours? Adam Ryland- Same as Wrespi
Q: jbmagic- Will some wrestlers in tew 2005 have a bad attitude and cause problems? PhilParent- Magic, yes. They take drugs. They show late. They die on you. They marry. Usual stuff.
Q: CAMJP- Have match write ups been changed? Adam Ryland- Yes CAMJP- how? Adam Ryland- They're better :-p CAMJP- can you be more specific? Adam Ryland- Not really Camjp, you'd have to see them to really understand the style
Q: flaviodujaune- Are you planning to have pictures for all the wrestlers in TEW2005? Adam Ryland- We're trying, but it's hard finding Poser artists Adam Ryland- Dean is doing some when his PC is fixed
Q: Midness- Will negotiating with PPV/TV be the same as in 2004? Adam Ryland- No Midness, it's much different
Q: javier_83- What about titles pictures Adam Ryland- All the titles have pictures already?
Q: flaviodujaune- Something that bothered me in TEW2004 is that in aftermaths, you could only have 2 vs 2 assaults, etc.... Will it be possible to have 3 vs 3, ... in TEW2005? Adam Ryland- There'll be all sorts of aftermaths, i haven't written them yet
Q: javier_83- is going to be an angle editor? Adam Ryland- Yes, that was confirmed in the FAQ
Q: CAMJP- what attributes will angles have in the editor? Adam Ryland- The angle editor is quite complex camp, I can't really do it justice here. You can edit the text, workers, roles, etc, all the stuff you'd expect
Q: Forlan- Will stables be able to have more people in, TEW2004 only has 15 to a stable max if i recall correctly Adam Ryland- Stables can have up to 20
Q: Forlan- Is there any new relationship types, if you know what i mean Adam Ryland- Forlan, no, they're the same. I might add some later if eeded
Q: blackthorne- If you own a promotion will you be takeover more than one promotion. Adam Ryland- blackthorne, that's one of the changes - you can only play as the booker, you cannot own a promotion. It's because the owner section has been expanded, to add to the challenge.
Q: flaviodujaune- I presume there is some kind of success rate in an angle. Isn't it possible to cheat if you can create angles, so that they are all going to be successfull and entertaining? Adam Ryland- flavio - no, not really
Q: Forlan- Does the owner still stop you hiring someone if they are on abd terms with them even if it would be for the good of the company that you sign the person? Adam Ryland- Forlan - yeah. that's one of the challenges, having to work with your owner
Q: jbmagic- in tew 2005 if you start on a lowe promotion, will we be able to advance to a higher promotion? Adam Ryland- Yes
Q: MisterCha- Will the owner have a bad attitude? Adam Ryland- Mistercha, depends on the owners personality Adam Ryland- Some are nice, some are not
Q: flaviodujaune- will it be possible to export data to excel, for example the wrestlers stats...? Adam Ryland- flavio, no, not at the moment.
Q: Forlan- What new languages are there? Adam Ryland- Forlan, the same as in 2004. But they can now be learned
Q: flaviodujaune- would it be possible to get reminders in TEW2005 to see when external workers' contracts are up? Now we have to check it every once in a while I think Adam Ryland- flavio, you'd shortlist them, or check the news
Q: jbmagic- in tew 2005, will other promotions try to steal your wrestlers in your promotions? Q: PhilParent- Yes
Q: Forlan- If someone has a history of drugs is there a hueg chance that they will go back to drugs or is it just random and if they dont have history of drugs can they turn to drugs? Adam Ryland- Forlan - there's some random, but it's a higher chance if they were a junkie to begin with
Q: MisterCha- Whats the ram requirement MisterCha- or recommended... Adam Ryland- Mistercha, same as Wrespi for both
Q: javier_83- are we going to be able to choose all the promotions and the game will stay fast? Adam Ryland- javier - it's super fast, you can have everything turned on.
Q: ViggoVickers- For the Satoshi Kojima TC/IWGP Champ situation in real life (Double Title Match), will this be able to be simulated in TEW2K5? Adam Ryland- Viggo, only if he was contracted to both feds ViggoVickers- So both the titles, of different promotions could be put on the line? Adam Ryland- No, this has been addressed on the forums, titles are promotion-specific ViggoVickers- Ah, but say it was a singles, Kojima and Tenzan for example and they both worked for both promotions, could u do it then? Adam Ryland- No, because the titles are *fed specific*, NJPW couldn't use NOAH's titles, etc, etc
Q: javier_83- the tiles of one fed are going to be able to use in another fed? Adam Ryland- He could hold both titles, but he couldn't defend them in the other fed
Q: jbmagic- Can you have cross promotion wrestler face each other? PhilParent- Yes
Q: flaviodujaune- will the booking team actually give you booking tips? not only when you ask them something? Adam Ryland- Flavio - within reason yes. But you're supposed to be the booker, there's only so much they can tell you
Q: Guest49- How will the shows with multiple time slots work Adam Ryland- Really well
Q: jbmagic- Can you give wrestlers interviews? PhilParent- Yes
Q: jbmagic- Can you make cetain wrestlers turn heel, and vice versa PhilParent- Yes
Q: flaviodujaune- can wrestlers walk out of a contract? Adam Ryland- Yes
Q: BigDirty- can wrestlers demand a title reign during contract negotiations? (but they have to ask for a specific title, so that you can't just create a new one for them) Adam Ryland- Big dirty, no, because it'd be easy to just create a new one, give it to them, then delete it.
Q: Forlan- For PPV carriers, do us real life data people need to make them as with TV stations or are they just generic? Adam Ryland- forlan, they're editable
Q: jbmagic- so tew will have major Pay per view events and weekly shows too PhilParent- Yes
Q: flaviodujaune- will there still be an AM and PM part of the day? Adam Ryland- flavio, yes
Q: flaviodujaune- will you still be blocked from doing certain things in the PM part? Adam Ryland- flavio, yes, but a lot of stuff that was blocked in 2004 isn't any more
Q: CAMJP- Will there be new starting modes like Chaos and Scramble? Adam Ryland- camjo - probably just the same ones
Q: MisterCha- Will there be difficulty levels in the game? Adam Ryland- No. If you want to play really hard, start as a small fed.
Q: ViggoVickers- Is there like rules the worker must follow backstage that u can enforce (e.g. like the WWE dress code?)? Adam Ryland- Viggo - not at the moment, it might be a later addition
Q: Forlan- Can you make your training camp have open tryouts and get people coming to try and impress you, also can you hire someone just to appear in a dark trial match? Adam Ryland- No to the first one, yes to to second.
Q: Midness- Will you only be able to get a TV show between 6pm and 6am (I think) like in 2004? Adam Ryland- midness, don't know, haven't done that yet.
Q: Briareos- Adam have you thought of making a online wrestling spirit type game? Adam Ryland- No
Q: blackthorne- If you can't own a established promotion is there still the option to start yourown promotion? Adam Ryland- blackthorne, no, as you can't own a promotion
Q: flaviodujaune- can you buy out a wrestler's contract, if the wrestler and his promotion agree on it? Adam Ryland- flavio - yes
Q: flaviodujaune- Will there be other ways to "suck up" to the wrestlers, other than giving them a vacation? Adam Ryland- flavio - yes, letting them win titles and stuff!
Q: MisterCha- Is there any new things to pay for... like those stage setups Adam Ryland- Mistercha, no, not at the moment
Q: Forlan- Do some feds just run tours rather than a constant schedule? Adam Ryland- Forlan, yes, same as Wrespi
Q: ViggoVickers- Are you doing the tour idea for some promotions like u did in WreSpi? Adam Ryland- Yes

Q: ViggoVickers- What will be the Max number of tours for TEW2K5 as only 10 was annoying! Adam Ryland- Viggo - if it was more than that, it'd basically be a full year, so not really a tour
Q: ViggoVickers- so MMA is totally out this time? Adam Ryland- No, it's in the game, but as a background item, so MMA fighters may show up occasionally as new characters
Q: flaviodujaune- Will promoters still stop you from signing someone they don't like? Adam Ryland- Yes
