On the frigid night of Jan. 30th 2010, WOW presented the sold out show Empire State of Mind. That's right sold out! In the Lyceum Arena in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY wrestling fans, young and old, packed in to watch the only Indy Wrestling show worth paying for in the area. With the captivating opening montage on the 50ft by 50ft screen, breaking down scenes from the cult classic Warriors movie and footage from past events the WOW fans new they were in for something special.
As usual there was something for everyone COMEDY...check, TECHNICAL WRESTLING...check, HIGH-IMPACT...check, REAL TAG TEAM...check, DEATH MATCH...CHECK!!!!!!!! They had it all on another amazingly booked show. And the crowd? They made sure that the Warriors new they were in attendance. Whether is was a Ric Flair WOOO!!! after a hard chop, an applause for technicality, heckling of the heels, or a huge POP after the Dynamic Express captured the WOW tag team titles for the very first time. But who will ever forget, or rather who COULD ever forget on of the most best executed DEATH MATCH's for any level of professional wrestling, while the fans are chanting THIS IS AWESOME, HOLY SH*T, W-O-W and PLEASE DON'T DIE!
Bottom line Warriors of Wrestling is the rising phoenix of the NY Independent Pro Wrestling Scene who defies other companies to attempt to put on a show as good as theirs. I'm just looking forward on seeing how WOW will top this show at their next one in March.
