Former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley will look to further advance his MMA career when he returns to action next month, May 15th at the MFC 21: Hard Knocks event. Rumors of Lashley signing with MFC have been lingering for several weeks now.
Mark Pavelich, owner and acting president of MFC, confirmed the deal earlier this afternoon. Lashley will take on Mike Cook, who currently holds a 7-3 MMA record. The fight will be aired live on HDNet, which is available in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Lashley won his first to professional MMA bouts, his debut against Joshua Franklin came to a quick end at 41 seconds in the first round due to a cut last year. He then went on to defeat Jason Guida this past March via decision.
In addition to his upcoming bout, he is also scheduled to face former pro wrestler, Bob Sapp in a super heavyweight bout on June 27th. The event will be held in Biloxi, Mississippi and will air live on PPV.
