Backstage Talk In WWE About ECW Strip Poker
Date Added: October 11, 2006
Story By: Matthew Boone

As reported earlier, the 10/9 three hour edition of WWE Raw Family Reunion drew a final 3.8 cable rating with a 6 share. While this number is up from last week's 3.6 number, when examining the hours it actually paints an even more positive picture for WWE. The first hour of the show drew a 3.2 rating, the second hour drew a 4.2 rating and the final hour drew a 4.0 rating. Basing the numbers strictly on Raw's normal timeslot (9-11pm ET for two hours), the show actually did a 4.1 cable rating.

On a side note, Monday Night Football on ESPN drew a 10.3 cable rating. That is up from last week's 10.2 rating and was the fourth highest rating in ESPN's history. While it could be said that high ratings for Monday Night Football in the last few weeks has hurt Raw, that certainly was not the case this past Monday night as Raw scored its highest number in months for the last two hours of the show.

The talk backstage at last night's TV tapings for ECW and Smackdown in Jacksonville, FL was that last night's edition of ECW on Sci Fi (taped last week) was embarassing due to the "Extreme Strip Poker" segments throughout the night. Many within the company are said to be very down on the creative end of WWE at the moment.
