- WWE Monday Night RAW kicks off tonight with the pyro exploding as Jim Ross welcomes us to the show tonight from the Kemper Arena in Kansas City.
Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga Jeff Hardy starts off RAW tonight coming to the ring for this RAW opener, to a huge pop from the fans in attendance. Out next is his opponent, The Samoan Bulldozer.
The bell rings and Hardy and Umaga size each other up with Umaga rushing him, nailing left and right hands to start the match off. Hardy tries to roll up Umaga coming off the ropes but Umaga goes for the sit down splash and misses. Hardy with a dropkick and a 1 count.
Umaga catches Hardy in a massive Samoan Drop and goes to work on him with a neck hold, grounding him to the mat. Hardy fights back to his feet with back elbows but gets knocked right back down with a big right hand. Umaga ties Hardy up in the corner with the Tree of Woe and hits a nasty diving head butt.
Umaga goes to the top rope, looking for the diving head butt again but Hardy moves out of the way. Umaga counters the Twist of Fate and then moves out of the way of the Whisper in the Wind. Umaga drags Hardy, sitting down, into the corner but misses the big running splash as Hardy moves out fo the way. Hardy comes back with right hands, knocking Umaga down in the corner. Double kick to the chest by Hardy as he mounts an offense.
Hardy kicks Umaga to the outside and comes over the top rope with a nice plancha move, hurting both men on the floor. Umaga pushes Hardy into the steps but Hardy runs the ringside barrier and dives onto Umaga. Hardy gets power slammed on the concrete by Umaga and looks to be knocked out. The referee counts both men out to end the match.
Winner: Double Countout
After the match, WWE officials tend to Jeff Hardy, who is knocked out, as Umaga makes his way to the back.
- Chris Jericho is shown backstage warming up as Batista walks in. He says he has a problem with HBK that he will settle at One Night Stand and doesn't want Jericho getting in his way. Jericho says he will beat the hell out of Batista tonight and Batista reminds him that he is in no shape to compete tonight after his match with Michaels last night. Jericho and Batista have another staredown before Batista walks off and we go to commercial.
- Back from commercial and William Regal is in the ring. He announces that at the One Night Stand pay-per-view, Umaga will face Jeff Hardy in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The camera goes backstage where Randy Orton and JBL are together. Regal announces that tonight, John Cena and Triple H will face Randy Orton and JBL. If Orton and JBL wins, they get to have their rematches at One Night Stand and get to pick the extreme stipulations for the match. If Cena and Triple H win, then they have to face each other at One Night Stand with Regal picking the extreme stipulations. Out comes Mr. Kennedy!
Kennedy hits the ring and Regal tells him there are consequences for interrupting him. Kennedy says he knows and Regal won't answer the question he keeps asking him - Regal vs. Kennedy, one-on-one, tonight; how about it? Regal says he doesn't take challengers from common wrestlers and says the next person to interrupt him will be fired on the spot. The music hits and out comes Mr. McMahon!
Vince, microphone in hand, comes between Kennedy and Regal. Kennedy tells Regal to go ahead and fire Vince. McMahon responds with a fierce SHUT UP! Vince reminds Regal that he endorsed him two weeks ago and ever since then, WWE has received more viewer complaints than ever in the company history. Vince says he doesn't give a damn what the people think about him or Regal, but he cares about the money. Vince says he's talking ratings and says WWE is the highest rated show on cable but for some reason, when Regal comes on the air, the ratings drop.
Vince asks Regal if he wants Kennedy gone, and says quite frankly, he does too and tells Kennedy he doesn't like him. Vince says the TV viewers want Regal gone. So tonight, we will have William Regal vs. Ken Kennedy with the loser of the match to be gone, as in FIRED! The music hits and Mr. McMahon makes his exit from the ring as Regal and Kennedy exchange a nasty stare in the ring. We go back to commercial.
- Back from commercial and we're seeing a clip of Beth Phoenix's impressive double back breaker from the Divas match at Judgment Day last night.
Beth Phoenix vs. Maria Melina makes her way to the ring, by herself for this singles match up, after a photo op on her red carpet on the way down. Melina goes over to the announcers table and does her sexy split on top of the table. She joins JR and The King for commentary as The Glamazon makes her way to the ring. Out next is her opponent, Maria.
Maria charges Beth as the bell rings but ends up getting dumped on her face. Beth runs her back into the turnbuckle, then takes her to the top rope, lifts her over head and drops her. The Glamazon gets a 2 count on Maria.
Beth hits a big side slam on Maria but misses an elbow in the corner. Maria comes back with a quick roll up for a 2 count. Beth gets back up with a big clothesline, leveling Maria. Beth drops Maria on her face again with the Glamaslam and applies a new finisher move that makes Maria tap out.
Winner: Beth Phoenix
After the match, Melina takes off her boot and runs at Beth Phoenix from the back as she heads out of the arena. Melina nails Beth with the boot but ends up getting slammed on her back on the entrance way. Beth walks away laughing as Melina is tend to by WWE officials.
- Later tonight, Chris Jericho will face Batista for the chance to face Shawn Michaels at One Night Stand and John Cena and Triple H will face JBL and Randy Orton in a Match of Extreme Consequences. We go to commercial.
- Back from commercial and tonight we will see the return of Piper's Pit. We cut to the clip of Santino Marella and Roddy Piper on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week.
- Backstage we see Mickie James giving Katie Lea some advice it looks like. Katie says soon she will be the WWE Women's Champion and will wear it with class because Mickie is now sleeping her way to the top, it appears. Mickie says she hung out with John Cena last week with a group of people including her brother and he was a gentleman. Katie makes a reference to $20,000 girls and tells Mickie to get in line. She says if Cena went out with her and her brother, he would have more than fun. She tells Mickie she knows what she is up to and walks off.
- Backstage we see William Regal when Shawn Michaels walks up. HBK wishes Regal good luck tonight against Mr. Kennedy. HBK says he will be sitting around tonight and Regal says at One Night Stand he won't because his match with Jericho or Batista will be a Stretcher Match. Back to commercial we go.
- Back from commercial and we see a video package of Ric Flair accepting the first-ever Corporate Patriot Award on behalf of WWE for their work on the Tribute to the Troops specials.
Chris Jericho vs. Batista WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho comes out first for this singles match where the winner will face Shawn Michaels in a Stretcher Match at the One Night Stand pay-per-view. The music hits, the pyro explodes and next The Animal makes his way back to the RAW ring.
Jericho attacks Batista first with forearms, backing him into the corner. Batista fights him off, also backing him into the other corner. Batista runs into a big boot by Jericho and we go into the other corner with more right hands. Batista with a big right hand, knocking Jericho back again. Batista lifts Jericho up high and drops him on his face.
A big clothesline by Batista gets a 2 count on Jericho. Running clothesline in the corner by Batista followed by another. Batista puts his foot into Jericho's neck and holds it. Jericho hits the mat and tries to regain his composure as Batista looks on. Jericho rolls out of the ring, holding his knee as if it is injured and we go to commercial.
We see a promo for tomorrow night's ECW on Sci-Fi. Shelton Benjamin will face the undefeated Kofi Kingston.
Back from commercial and Batista and Jericho are going at it in the corner. Batista has been in control since the commercial, not buying Jericho's injury. Jericho dumps Batista over the top rope and now Batista is holding his knee. Batista comes back in the ring, limping as Jericho goes to work on the leg with kicks, taking him back down.
Jericho applies a leg lock on Batista and holds it, continuing to work on the hurt leg of The Animal. Batista kicks Jericho out of the ring and gets to his feet, only to get pulled back down by Jericho. Batista kicks Jericho into the announcer table. Jericho comes back in the ring only to get caught by a big boot from Batista. Batista hits a big spine buster and goes for the Batista Bomb but Jericho locks on the single leg Boston Crab on Batista's left leg.
Jericho keeps the leg lock applied, dragging Batista back into the center of the ring. After a few minutes, Batista finally makes it to the ropes and the hold is broken. Jericho goes back to workon the leg with kicks and another take down. Batista rolls out of the way of the Lionsault and gets back to his feet. Batista goes for the Batista Bomb but Jericho grabs the ropes and ends up on the apron.
Jericho kicks Batista back and goes to the top rope. Jericho leaps off the top rope but gets caught by a clothesline from Batista. 2 count by Batista. Both men try to get to their feet with Batista rising first. Jericho moves as Batista runs into the turnbuckle post. Jericho goes for the Codebreaker but Batista catches him and nails the Batista Bomb for the pinfall and the win.
Winner: Batista
After the match, as Batista's music plays and he gets to his feet, Shawn Michaels appears at the entrance way. The two stare each other down for a few minutes as they prepare for their Stretcher Match at One Night Stand.
- Still to come tonight is John Cena and Triple H vs. Randy Orton and JBL plus Piper's Pit which is up next. We go back to commercial.
- Backstage we see Vince McMahon and William Regal talking when the there's a knock at the door and it's Ted DiBiase. Vince asks Regal if he can borrow his office, asking him to leave, so he can conduct some business with Mr. DiBiase. Vince asks him, "if we take my money..." and we go back to the arena.
- Roddy Piper's music hits and out comes Santino Marella dressed like Piper, with a fat gut and bad hairpiece. Santino enters the ring where Piper's Pit is set up. Santino cracks a joke mentioning Piper's match with Goldust at WrestleMania a few years back. Santino goes on ranting on Piper and has the clip from Jimmy Kimmel played on the big screen.
Santino talks about Cousin Sal from Jimmy Kimmel and calls him out fo the ring as his guest tonight. The real Cousin Sal comes out to the ring in a Roddy Piper t-shirt. Santino he hears Sal worshiped Piper as a kid. Santino asks Sal what he liked so much about Piper and Sal says he liked how Piper backed up everything he said he would do, which Santino doesn't. Sal cracks jokes on Santino and says Maria told him he was hung like a 4th grader. Ron Simmons appears on the big screen with a DAMN! Santino says these days, 4th graders are developing quickly and says he has pictures and realizes his racy joke and says he read it in the National Geographic. Good stuff!
Santino reveals a cake that says "I'm Sorry" on it and tells Sal that he is going to apologize to him or the cake will end up in his face this time. Santino picks up the cake when Roddy Piper enters the ring from behind Santino. Santino sees Piper and gets scared. Piper tastes the cake then Sal pushes it up and into Santino's face. Piper cleans the ring of Santino as he and Cousin Sal celebrate. Lilian Garcia is shown at ringside, looking pissed off, asking "What the hell was that?" with cake all over her.
Santino heads to the back, still ranting and says he wants a match with Cousin Sal. Piper asks Santino if he wants the match, he's got it. Cousin Sal has a puzzled look on his face and maybe looks as if he doesn't want the match.
- Backstage we see Mr. Kennedy making his way to the ring for his match with William Regal as we go back to commercial.
Loser is Fired Match: Mr. Kennedy vs. William Regal Lilian Garcia is in the ring announcing that per Mr. McMahon's orders, the loser of this match will be fired. Kennedy is out first and brings his mic from the rafters and says Regal is about to lose his royal jewels tonight to the winner of this match, Mrrr. Kennedy!.....KENNEDY! The music hits and out comes William Regal.
The two lock up to start the match with Regal forcing Kennedy into the corner and hitting him with right hands. Kennedy comes fighting out of the corner with lefts and rights and the two exchange blows. Kennedy with a big back body drop and a 2 count on Regal. Kennedy nails his running kick to the head on Regal as the RAW General Manager rolls to the floor to regain his composure.
Regal trips Kennedy on the apron and gets back in the ring, taking control of the match with knees and kicks to Kennedy. Regal continues pounding Kennedy on the mat with two back to back 2 counts. Regal backs Kennedy into the corner with more right hands. A big suplex by Regal scores another 2 count. Regal applies an arm lock and holds it in the center of the ring.
Regal throws Kennedy back into the corner but gets hit by a big boot to the face. Kennedy and Regal exchange lefts and rights again until Kennedy hits a nice spinning kick to the head and hooks the legs for a 2 count. Kennedy rolls to the outside and Regal follows. Regal gets on the mic and says he is still General Manager and is making his a No DQ match. Regal grabs brass knuckles from ringside, kicks Kennedy in the face and throws him into the steel steps.
Regal throws Kennedy back into the ring, still with the brass knuckles and microphone in hand. Regal sizes Kennedy up but gets kicked in the gut. Kennedy hits the Mic Check out of nowhere and pins Kennedy for the win. Regal is fired!?!
Winner: Mr. Kennedy
The referee helps Kennedy to the back as he slaps hands with the fans at ringside. Regal gets to his feet in the ring and looks pissed off as the crowd heckles him. A "USA" chant breaks out as Regal gets to his feet, still giving the crowd a nasty look. A "Regal Sucks" chant breaks out now as Regal exits the ring and starts backing towards the entrance way. We go to commercial.
- Back from commercial and we see William Regal knocking on his dressing room door, asking Vince McMahon to open the door up. Teddy Long steps out of the door, asks Regal, what's up playa? and walks off as Regal looks on.
- We go to Todd Grisham backstage with Triple H. The Game says he and Cena aren't best of friends, but neither are Orton and JBL. Triple H says after last night, he and Cena are the favorites in this match. As for One Night Stand, it doesn't make a difference who he faces. He says there's a lot of change in WWE right now but one thing is constant, he is the best thing this business has to offer.
Randy Orton and JBL vs. John Cena and Triple H In this match, if Orton and JBL win then they get their rematches at the One Night Stand event but if Triple H and Cena win, they must face each other with stipulations to be named later. The former WWE Champion Randy Orton is out first to his new theme music.
The white limousine pulls through the entrance way next as John Bradshaw Layfield steps out from it and makes his way to the ring for the RAW main event. We go back to a commercial break.
Back from commercial and Orton and JBL wait in the ring as the music hits and out comes John Cena to a pretty nice ovation. Cena hits the ring and now it's time for the entrance of the WWE Champion, Triple H. The Game comes out to a monster pop and hits the ring for tonight's main event.
Cena and Orton start the match off and it's Orton striking first with right hands in the corner. Cena hits a big bulldog already and tags in Triple H. Triple H gets hit by a big elbow in the corner and kicks and punches from Orton. A big high knee from Triple H to Orton and a right hand to JBL. Triple H dumps Orton over the top rope with the help of John Cena as we go back to commercial.
Back from another commercial and it's JBL and Triple H in the ring with Layfield in control with a head lock on The Game. Triple H fights to his feet but Orton gets tagged back in and goes to work on Triple H with kicks and punches. The referee backs Orton up again as he continues pounding on the WWE Champion. Orton misses a dropkick as Triple H dodged it and both men are down.
Cena gets tagged in and goes to work on Orton hitting all his usual power moves. He tells JBL he can't see him and hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Orton. JBL comes in from behind and hits Cena and The Game nails JBL. Cena blocks the RKO but goes for the FU which he can't hit. A big boot to the face on Cena gets a 2 count by Orton. Randy keeps in control of the match, punishing Cena.
Cena and Orton's heads collide as both men are back down in the ring, trying to make tags and get up. Cena tags in Triple H as JBL comes in and the two begin brawling. Big flying clothesline by Triple H followed by a face buster and a neckbreaker then a 2 count by Triple H. JBL hits The Game with a big boot but gets caught in a huge spinebuster. The Game throws Orton to the floor and goes after him as Cena has the STFU locked on JBL. Orton goes to kick Triple H in the head but weakly hits Cena and breaks the STFU. JBL covers Cena as Orton and Triple H brawl in the corner and pins him for the win.
Winners: Randy Orton and JBL
Triple H goes to Pedigree JBL but Orton drops him with a clothesline and goes to work on him with right hands. JBL holds Triple H so Orton can drop him with the RKO. JBL gets on the mic and tells Cena he will face him in a First Blood Match at One Night Stand. Orton tells Triple H he will face him for the WWE Title in a Last Man Standing Match.
