Mick Foley's contract expires at the end of this month and it is expected for WWE to offer him a new contract. Foley and Jim Ross have developed good chemistry and WWE has not been training anyone else for the color commentary position. Unsettling feelings remain from Foley when Vince McMahon criticized his broadcasting through the headsets when he was still working with Michael Cole. He was so bothered by the comments that he called McMahon that night to address the situation.
Vince has toned down his criticism since the incident, but Foley is still bothered at how he and other announcers have been treated. WWE wants him to remain with the company but Foley doesn't want to put up with Vince's rants.
Mick Foley isn't expected to make a TV appearance this week so he can sell his angle with Edge. SummerSlam is being viewed as Foley's last WWE appearance if he does not resign.
