- UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: JEFF HARDY VS. SHELTON BENJAMIN
The bell rings as really loud “HARDY” chants start up. Shelton with a headlock, Hardy tries a school boy and a backslide and two sunset flips but gets nearfalls! Hardy goes for the Twist Of Fate but Shelton rolls out of the ring. Shelton goes on the offensive on Hardy, hitting punches and kicks and locks in a headlock. Both men go into the corner, Hardy regains a bit of momentum. Jeff attempts his turnbuckle dropkick but Shelton catches him. Hardy dropkicks Shelton into the other corner and succesfully executes his high-flying turnbuckle tropkick this time, goes for the pin but only gets a two-count. We go to a commercial break.
We return from commercial with Hardy having Shelton in a face lock, Shelton bridges over but gets a nearfall. Hardy executes some quick moves, but Shelton hits a powerbomb on Hardy into the turnbuckle. Shelton hits a suplex for a nearfall. Shelton locks in a single-leg Boston Crab as Hardy barely gets to the ropes. Shelton hits a Samoan Drop, but Hardy kicks out. Both men exchange right hands, Shelton hits the Dragon Whip but again Hardy kicks out at two! Shelton goes for the splash in the corner but Hardy moves and hits a jawbreaker.
A few right hands as Hardy regains momentum and hits the Whisper In The Wind, only to get a nearfall. Goes for the Twist Of Fate, Shelton counters with a backbreaker, but Hardy kicks out again! A wrestler named Scotty Goldman comes to the ring…he appears to have a character who sees himself in different places…odd.
- THE BRIAN KENDRICK VS. SCOTTY GOLDMAN
Goldman isn’t bad so far, but I think this is a squash for Kendrick. Kendrick hits a few aerial moves and locks in a Camel Clutch. Trips says he admires Dykstra’s “Spirit”, but he picked the wrong day and the wrong guy.
- The Great Khali and Ranjin Singh make their way to the ring. Khali gets on the mic and talks his usual gibberish. Singh then translates that they all witnessed the power of Khali last week, and while Triple H is great, he will never be as great as Khali. Trips is an obstacle which Khali can overcome. Singh advises Trips to get out while he can because Khali will take away Trips’ pride and glory. Triple H’s music hits and he receives a large pop from the crowd. Singh joins JR and Tazz on commentary while Khali stands like a lemon outside the ring.
