[Q1] The opening video aired complete with shots of the newly drafted ECW wrestlers... Josh Matthews and Matt Striker introduced the show from ringside. They hyped the Jack Swagger and Christian contract signing...
Finlay and Hornswoggle came to the ring for an announcement. Finlay pointed out that his son was drafted to Raw next week. He said it was Horny's final night on ECW. The crowd booed (I cheered). Horny took the mic and grunted that he wants to wrestle. The live crowd chanted Horny's name. Strange birds in the UK.
Finlay said they were asking Tiffany to put him in the ring. Finlay added that Hornswoggle wanted to say goodbye and thank the fans. Horny took the mic again, but was interrupted by Tyson Kidd's entrance music. Kidd and Natalya came to the ring. Kidd brought a mic with him and said, "Ahhh, the little midget wants to come out and say goodbye," Kidd said. "I say good riddance because with you gone it leaves more time for a guy like me."
Finlay responded by saying that Horny is a leprechaun and Kidd is the midget. Natalya responded by saying Tyson was trained in the Dungeon. She said Bret Hart lied when he said he was the best there ever would be because that was Kidd's destiny. Natalya said she could beat Horny. She told him to leave the ring and make room for the real superstars. Horny bit her on the ass. She challenged him to a match. Horny accepted. The announcers said we'd find out if the match takes place after the break... [C]
1. Hornswoggle (w/Finlay) beat Natalya (w/Tyson Kidd) in 1:35. Matthews said Tiffany came out during the break and made the match official. Natalya toyed with Horny early by pie-facing him. He came back by biting her on the ass again (he got a mouthful). Kidd stood on the apron. Finlay took him out. Natalya was distracted by this, which allowed Horny to roll her up for the 1-2-3. Horny and Finlay danced around the ring with a few kids.
A Backlash commercial aired...
[Q2] [C] Backstage, Natalya chewed out Tiffany while Tyson Kidd stood by. Natalya said she's a third generation superstar and is basically royalty. She said she wanted Horny fired. Tiffany stood up for herself and booked Natalya and Kidd vs. Horny and Finlay on WWE Superstars...
The announcers introduce the Raw Rebound from ringside. Matthews managed to avoid bleeding. The Rebound video focussed on Randy Orton vs. Triple H... The announcers hyped the WWE Backlash show and ran through the lineup. They said the Christian vs. Swagger match would become official later tonight via the contract signing...
Evan Bourne made his entrance. The announcers said he'd be in action after the break... [C]
2. Evan Bourne vs. Paul Burchill (w/Katie Lea). Matthews said "The Ripper" (Burchill) claimed he left London because there was no one left to beat up. Funny, that's why I left Roseville, Minnesota. Okay, maybe not.
[Q3] Burchill caught Bourne's kick attempt and turned it into a cool suplex. The announcers raved that Burchill's game plan was to ground Bourne. Burchill was successful for the first six minutes of the match and then Bourne made his comeback with a great high knee that knocked Burchill out of the ring. He followed up with a great spinning heal kick and a clothesline.
Burchill caught Bourne in the air and slammed him to the mat. He tried to follow up with a senton and missed. Bourne went up top, but Burchill cut him off and caught him on his shoulders. Bourne turned it into a reverse huracanrana and hit the Shooting Star Press for the win...
A Vladimir Kozlov video aired. He said he's coming for the champion. "Everyone must fall," Kozlov said. The video concluded with a close up shot of his face and a graphic that read "Next"... [C]
3. Vladimir Kozlov squashed Frankie Sloan in 0:55. The announcers noted that Sloan was a British Commonwealth Champion. Billy Robinson would kick his ass! Vlad took the mic and mumbled something about Russians being superior and predicting domination. Typical Kozlov squash...
A shot aired of Jack Swagger walking backstage with the ECW Title belt draped over his shoulder...
[Q4] [C] Tiffany stood in the ring next to a table for the contract signing. She tried to sound really professional while smiling from ear-to-ear. Christian came out first in jeans and a t-shirt. Swagger came out wearing a suit with the belt still draped over his shoulder. He smiled while Christian stared him down from the ring.
Both men sat down while Tiffany said they would sign and then would have a chance for any final comments. Christian signed the contract. Swagger also signed. Swagger picked up the mic and questioned where the witty one-liners were regarding the way he talks. "You mean to tell me you have nothing to say?" Swagger asked.
Swagger continued to rip Christian. He said it was obvious that Christian knows that Swagger is bigger and stronger. He said Christian knows he can't beat him and that's why Christian has nothing to say. Swagger dropped the mic and sat back in his chair. He stood up and was ready to leave when Christian stopped him.
Christian said he could mock Swagger for wearing the same suit he wore to his high school graduation, his bad haircut, or his speech impediment, but it wouldn't do anything for him.
"Swagger, it doesn't mean anything," Christian said. "You see, this time you can sit out here and you can be the one to run your mouth. And you can focus on being bigger, stronger, and faster, and I'll focus on this Sunday. I'll focus on Backlash. I'll focus on making you the biggest, strongest, and fastest ex-ECW Champion in history."
Tiffany thanked them both and left the ring. Swagger, who was back in his seat, held up the belt in front of Christian and smiled. He threw the belt at Christian, who stood up and took a swing, but Swagger clotheslined him. Swagger hit the gutwrench powerbomb that drove Christian through the table. Swagger mugged for the camera to close the show...
