ECW on The Sci-Fi Channel Taped earlier tonight in Pittsburgh, Pa. Source: PWNET
[Q1] The opening video kicked off the show... Fireworks exploded on the stage and then Josh Matthews and Matt Striker introduced the show. They hyped Christian vs. Mark Henry as the main event and quested whether Christian could make it to Judgment Day unscathed...
1. Evan Bourne beat Tyson Kidd (w/Natalya) in 14:05. Yes! Great way to open the show. Striker sold the match as the first one-on-one match between the two. There are plenty of fans who attended recent house shows shaking their heads over that line. Striker also noted that this was the first time that Bourne was in the ring with someone as quick as he is. Bourne was in control of the early action when the show cut to commercial around three minutes in. [C]
After the break, Kidd took control of the offense and taunted Bourne. Evan came back by leaping off the second rope and catching Kidd with a kick to the back of the head. Cool move.
[Q2] Later, Natalya pulled Bourne off the ring apron. She actually went for the pot a move early, but Bourne ignored it and then she did it again in the right spot. A short time later, Finlay came out and hit Kidd with a shillelagh while the referee was distracted. Bourne followed up with a Shooting Star Press for the win...
A shot aired of Jack Swagger talking with someone backstage... [C] A commercial plugged Edge interviewing Jeff Hardy on WWE Superstars...
Jack Swagger headed to the ring to be interviewed by Josh Matthews, who is really screwed if he starts bleeding this time. Matthews asked why he ruined last week's match between Christian and Tommy Dreamer. Swagger complained that no one else should get a title match before he does.
Matthews pointed out that Swagger already has a rematch slated for the pay-per-view and wanted to know why Swagger cared which one of the two men he faced. "It matters to me, Josh," Swagger responded. Jack complained that Christian cheated to beat him for the ECW Title. He bitched that Christian gave the "washed up" Dreamer for the first title shot.
Swagger said the fans think Dreamer is the heart and soul of ECW. However, Swagger said he's actually "the fat and cholesterol" of ECW. Moments later, Dreamer hit the ring and attacked Swagger. Striker compared Dreamer attacking Swagger to a triple bypass. Nice line. Dreamer quickly ran off Swagger...
Backstage, Tiffany was sitting in her office when Zach Ryder walked into the room looking like anything but an Edgehead. He wore a lavender shirt and a purple headback and said "Whoo whoo whoo."
A brief Vladimir Kozlov video aired...
[Q3] [C] Did You Know that twice as many viewers watched ECW last week than watched the Stanley Cup Playoffs?...
2. Vladimir Kozlov squashed Jesse Guillmette in 1:00. Mission accomplished. He took the mic after the match and predicted that Ovechkin will lead the Capitals past the Penguins in six games. Well, at least he said something in Russian...
A video recapped Monday's Raw... Backstage, Hurricane Helms interviewed Mark Henry and Tony Atlas. Henry said his dominance doesn't need to be restated. He said he takes what he wants. "So Christian might be the ECW Champion, but tonight he's my victim," Henry said... [C]
Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy on Friday's Smackdown. Gotta love that!... The main event ring entrances took place...
[Q4] 3. Christian beat Mark Henry (w/Tony Atlas) by an apparent DQ in 2:15. After a couple minutes of action, Christian took control of the offense. Jack Swagger ran out and attacked Christian for the apparent DQ. Tommy Dreamer ran out and made the save. Christian and Dreamer cleared Swagger from the ring.
Tiffany walked onto the stage, over-enunciated her words, and changed it to a tag team match... [C]
4. Jack Swagger and Mark Henry (w/Tony Atlas) beat Christian and Tommy Dreamer in 9:35. The match was joined in progress. Swagger gave the viewers a history lesson. He said Cinco de Mayo celebrates the day that 4,000 Mexican soldiers plowed through the entire French army. "Which isn't saying much," he added. Funny. Henry worked over Dreamer, who came back and made a tag. Christian worked over Henry until he tagged in Swagger.
[Overrun] Swagger worked over Christian until he made a hot tag to Dreamer. Tommy roughed up both heels briefly and pumped up the crowd. Dreamer got a near fall on Swagger. He tied him up in the Tree of Woe and then moved when Henry tried to splash him, causing Henry to splash Swagger.
While the babyfaces teamed up on Henry at ringside, Swagger removed the second turnbuckle pad. Dreamer reentered the ring. Swagger slammed him into the exposed turnbuckle, then hit the gutwrench powerbomb, and picked up the 1-2-3...
