FWA Fantasy Wrestling Debuts
Story By: John Sivewright
October 22, 2002

Welcome to the latest edition to prowrestling.com, the Fantasy Wrestling Alliance. FWA is the sister group of RFI (Room For Improvement) Fantasy Wrestling. FWA provides you with a sort of 'updated' fantasy wrestling product, with WWE, NWA and XPW. The rosters are fresh and of equal quality, so for now, no fed will be able to outclass the others in terms of talent alone. The schedule of shows shall be the same as RFI, with each promotion getting a show on Monday, a show on Thursday and one PPV per month each. Remember, the happenings in these shows does not relate to RFI in any way. This is a totally separate fantasy group, with its own storylines and general goings on.

FWA shall be at prowrestling.com until fhwrestling.com re-opens in November. Until then, keep checking right here at prowrestling.com/fantasy for our latest offerings.

After reading all 3 of today's shows, we would be very grateful if you gave us your opinions of the broadcasts. Simply email fwa_fantasy_wrestling@hotmail.com with your views on the shows, favourite/least favourite matches, segments and wrestlers would be ideal. Also, we are going to use a ratings system like RFI. Along with feedback, please rate each show, individually, on a scale of 1-10. On Thursday, we will find out which show got the highest average rating and that promotion wins the ratings for tonight.

We kick off FWA with the first ever edition of WWE Raw, a quality show from Chris Bacon and Patrick Fagan.

The show opens with the image of a door in the backstage area and an 'Earlier Today' logo on the screen. The cameraman opens it and enters an office. Seated in a leather chair behind an executive desk is the business man that personifies “ruthless aggression”, Vince McMahon. Vince, “As the owner of World Wrestling Entertainment let me welcome you to a new beginning. Correction - let me welcome you to THE New Beginning. The time for radical change has come here in the WWE. Ratings have been slumping, stars have been plagued with injuries and even some of my top ticket selling, and money-making machines have left the company. First the Rock jets off to Hollywood, Steve Austin runs away from all his hardships with his tail between his legs and now I hear that the likes of Hulk Hogan, Kane, Edge, Rob Van Dam and The Undertaker are no longer with us. At the top of the WWE ladder I only want people that have the balls to succeed in the Era of Ruthless Aggression! If you don’t like it, get the F out! Anyway, at Survivor Series I’m going to see who has the balls to succeed. I will see just who can win the infamous Survivor Series Rules Match-up as part of the main event for the coveted Undisputed WWE Championship. Who is in that main event, you ask? You’ll just have to wait and find out. But mark my words only the strong will survive!” McMahon stares at the camera with ferociousness before it zooms out revealing William Regal at his side with a lottery tumbler standing next to him. The owner’s face begins to show signs of a smile. Vince, “My good friend William Regal has just
entered his name into this tumbler. In it there are the names of the WWE’s entire active roster. Later on in the night I will draw a name from the lottery tumbler and the individual who’s name is in my hand will be presented with the Intercontinental Championship. So ladies and gentlemen, I thank you very much, and enjoy the show.”

WWE: RAW
October 21st
Gaylord Entertainment Center, Nashville Tennesee
Commentators: Jim Ross and Jerry 'the King' Lawler
Written by: Chris Bacon and Joseph Fagan

[7:00 - 7:15]

A spectacular pyrotechnic display kicks off the show as Union Underground’s RAW theme tune plays in the background. The fans are on their feet directing their signs and banners towards the cameras as the screen shows a couple of examples. JR, “I’m Good Old JR alongside Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler and folks tonight is a new beginning for Monday Night RAW!” King, “It’s not a new beginning, JR, it’s the New Beginning! I can’t believe it!” JR, “Vince McMahon already making some major announcements that we’ll discuss in just a moment but right now we’re getting right into the action with this opening match.” King, “Firstly let us remind you that in a Triple Threat Stink Face Match, Rikishi will take on Chris Benoit and the Olympic Hero, Kurt Angle!”

'The One Man Crime Spree' Justin Credible vs Batista

Justin Credible makes his way down the ramp and into the ring. He performs his signature entrance before awaiting the arrival of the monster known as Batista. The demonic character heads to the ring to a surprisingly warm reaction from the crowd, but as he does Justin vaults over the top rope and to ringside, taking down Batista for the early advantage. JR, “The bell hasn’t sounded yet but if Justin
Credible wants to survive this contest he should get the early offensive.” Justin beats on the fallen Batista with right hands but he merely slows the monster down. Batista slowly arises and glares at his assailant. Justin runs back into the ring and the mammoth is in hot pursuit. Credible tries to make an exit through the ropes but Batista grabs him as the bell officially rings and throws him into a turnbuckle. The Clothesline across the chest crushes Credible and is followed up with a Scoop Slam. Justin screams in pain upon impact but the Batista thrives on it and puts the boots to Credible. Batista then hoists Justin into the air again and whips him off of the ropes and into a Tilt a Whirl Sidewalk Slam! King, “JR, I’d sure hate to be Justin Credible right now.” JR, “That slam had quite a bit of force behind it and ladies and gentlemen let me remind you that we have a lottery for the Intercontinental Title coming up later on in the night, and either of these two men could be the new Intercontinental Champion.” Batista sets up the Power Bomb but in mid air Justin gets a right hand and lands on his feet. He then ducks a shot from Batista and Drop Kicks the monster from behind. Batista stumbles into a turnbuckle and Justin follows it up with a Clothesline. Credible then runs at his opponent again but receives a Flapjack into the turnbuckle. Batista maintains the heavy offensive with some right hands and a Vertical Suplex. Credible rolls around the ring in pain. He struggles to his feet and runs at Batista. Batista looks to go for the finishing Spine Buster but Credible clubs him around the skull. The right hands fly at Batista but somehow the mammoth delivers the greatest Body Press Slam on record, sending Credible soaring through the air and crashing to ringside. JR, “Good God almighty! Look at the sheer strength of Batista! He is as strong an ox!” King, “But twice as ugly.” JR, “Love him or hate him, King, that was one
of the damndest things I’ve ever seen.” A replay of the Body Press Slam to the outside of the ring is shown before we return to the action. Batista steps through the ropes and onto the apron. He dives off of it at Justin but is nailed in mid air with a Super Kick to the jaw! Credible rolls into the ring as the referee begins to count out Batista. One...two...three...four...five...six...seven...eight...nine...Batista
is up! The monster hops onto the apron with ease and steps over the top rope. JR, “Justin Credible can’t believe it! I can’t believe it! Batista is up after that carefully planned and perfectly executed Super Kick! Is Batista of this world or what?” Credible is shocked and the fans are on their feet. Batista glares at his victim and charges towards him. He is nailed in the face with a Reverse Elbow and Justin puts on a Sleeper Hold. JR, “Credible can’t seem to put Batista away and so Credible is using some desperate tactics now" The clutch tightens but after a moment in control of the manoeuvre Justin struggles to dominate Batista at this point in the match-up. Batista is literally standing with ease and Credible is maintaining the Sleeper Hold for dear life. Batista throws Credible to the canvas with a Snapmare and follows it up with a Big Boot to the face. Credible tumbles over the top rope but lands his feet on the apron. Batista then runs at his opponent but is nailed with a Shoulder Thrust and Justin Credible tries for the Sunset Flip. Justin lands perfectly but can’t pin Batista’s shoulders because the monster is still on his feet. Batista grabs Justin by the throat, hoists him into the air and hurls him across the ring. Justin
lands on the mat with a thunderous impact. JR, “Oh my God! Look at that! Batista throws Credible across the ring!” The monster stalks Justin Credible and catches him with a Clothesline that knocks him to the ground. Batista proceeds to nail the Power Bomb and even follows it up with another! Batista with the Double Power Bomb, and now a Triple Power Bomb! Justin Credible is being tossed around like a rag doll. The long series of high-impact Power Bombs continues until it reaches ten. Batista drops the unconscious Credible to the surface of the ring before running his thumb across his throat and nailing the Spine Buster for the one...two...three!
Winner via pin fall in 8:33: Batista

The monster leaves the ring to a standing ovation after decimating his opponent. As soon as he leaves Credible takes a microphone and leans against the ropes for support as he strives to remain on his feet. The fans are chanting “You Suck” at the top of their voices. Credible, “Don’t tell me I suck! I did a lot better than any of you would in the ring...” The fans then start an “asshole” chant. Credible, “Who are you calling an asshole? Fine, I’m going to walk out on you. I’m walking out on each and every one of you ungrateful little pieces of trash!” Credible is helped to limp up the ramp by officials to abusive chants from the crowd. King, “How can the fans treat Justin Credible like that?” JR, “Seeing him walk out on us, is the waste of a talent.”

Backstage we see Terri standing by with a microphone alongside Kurt Angle. Terri, “Kurt, tonight you face Chris Benoit and Rikishi in a special Triple Threat Stink Face Match! Do you think you’ve got what it takes to win?” Angle, “I’ve pinned shoulders to the mat, I’ve made people tap and now I’ve got the easiest kind of match ever. To win I rub my ass in someone’s face.” Terri, “You’re facing some challenging opposition.” Angle, “Please, Rikishi is a fat waste of space and Benoit is an egoholic. I’m the greatest technical wrestler around, not him.” Just as Kurt says that, Chris Benoit steps into view. Benoit, “I’ve beaten you before Kurt, I can do it again.” Kurt, “You really think you’re something, don’t you? Well tonight, just remember that you step into the ring with an Olympic Gold Medallist, it’s true, it’s damn true!”

In another area of the backstage area we see Kevin Kelly preparing to interview Chris Jericho, who has his back to the camera. Kelly, “Chris Jericho, it was you that called this interview, not me. Exactly what is you wish to say?” Jericho stretches out his arms in his signature pose before turning to the camera and taking the microphone. Jericho, “Get out of here, assclown!” Kelly is pushed out of view by Y2J. Jericho, “All hail the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla’! Tonight is all about this new beginning and let me tell you that this is a new beginning for Fozzy! My band of the ultimate rockstars around has just got a new PR man. Show the people who you are.” Christian steps into view and stands at Jericho’s side. Jericho, “That’s not all. We also have a new bodyguard, going by the name of Test!” The seven footer walks into view and stands behind Y2J. Jericho, “Together we’re issuing an open challenge to any rag-tag team that thinks they can beat us in a Six-Man Tag Match. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some autographs to sign.”

We cut to a shot of Vince McMahon’s office when suddenly the door opens and Regal steps out with a smirk on his face. JR, “I don’t like the looks of this.” King, “The man's happy, let him be.” JR, “Now folks we go to a commercial break.”

[7:15 - 7:30]

In the arena “No Chance” has just started rolling and WWE Owner, Vince McMahon is strutting to the ring and thrown over his shoulder is the coveted Intercontinental Championship belt. The lottery tumbler is in the ring and Vince McMahon has ring announcer, Howard Finkel give it a roll. Vince, “This is the moment you’ve all been waiting for. A name will be drawn from this tumbler and whoever is selected will become the Intercontinental Champion.” William Regal’s music hits and he makes his
way down the ramp wearing a rather expensive looking suit. Vince, “Ladies and gentlemen, the man that will pick a name from the tumbler, my good friend, William Regal.” JR, "Oh what the hell! What the hell is this! Regal picks a name from the tumbler and hands it to Vince McMahon. Vince, “I don’t believe it. The new Intercontinental Champion is none other than the WWE’s very own, William Regal! Regal is handed the belt and Vinnie Mac raises the new champion’s arm. JR, “There is something fishy about all of this.” King, “That’s just your imagination, Vince’s lottery went off without a hitch.” JR, “I don’t trust Regal or McMahon. I think this could have been fixed.” King, “Vince is one of the most honourable men in the WWE. Slap yourself for thinking that! Better yet, turn around and I'll do it for you”

In a locker room backstage we see Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio They both meet each other in the middle of the room and shake hands. Rey, “Billy, great to see you again.” Kidman, “You too Rey. By the way have you seen Torrie?” Rey, “No but if I do I’ll ask her to come to the ring with us. Just like back in WCW.” Kidman, “Just like the Filthy Animals.” Eddie and Chavo Guerrero enter the room side by side. Eddie, “You’re looking for your mamacita? I’ve seen her...in my hotel room, you see she couldn’t resist my Latino Heat.” Kidman readies his fist and almost swings at Eddie but Rey Mysterio holds him back. Eddie, "Woah holmes, calm down. Calm down essay!" Rey, “So Eddie, you think you’re funny? Well, tonight our Tag Team Match will be no laughing matter.”

Tag Team Match
Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio w/ Torrie Wilson vs Los Guerreros (Eddie and Chavo)

Billy Kidman arrives to a pleasant response from the crowd. Torrie Wilson is in tow. Then to a standing ovation, we hear a few drum beats before a set of fireworks and out appears a leaping Rey Mysterio! He performs his signature entrance, heading to the ring before they await the arrival of their opposition. “Latino Heat” echoes throughout the arena as the Guerreros make their way down the ramp. Eddie and Billy Kidman decide to start things off. Billy doesn’t bother with any actual wrestling and charges towards Eddie. He is firing right hands after the remark made earlier by Eddie. He then whips his target off of the ropes and takes him down with a Drop Kick. Kidman stomps on what is left of Guerrero but he is tackled to the mat with a trip up. Eddie applies some kind of Reverse Headlock to wear down Billy Kidman. The cruiserweight struggles to his feet and dishes out some right hands. He is then the victim of a Knee Lift and the Reverse Headlock is reapplied. Kidman drops to his knees as the hold is maintained. He fights back and he somehow hits a Northern Lights Suplex, bridges it and scores a near fall. JR, “Billy Kidman struck that move out of nowhere and I don’t think that Eddie saw it coming.” Billy then scores a quick Clothesline before going to the second rope. He looks for a Tiger Head Scissors but Guerrero sends him crashing into a Gut Breaker. Kidman bounces off of Guerrero’s knee, clutching his midsection as Latino Heat begins to kick him when he is down. Torrie is forced to watch helplessly from ringside. She cheers on her man as he slowly arises. Guerrero looks for a Suplex but in mid air Kidman gracefully slides onto his feet and scores the Hurricanrana for the one...two...kick out! Billy Kidman is fighting on his friend Torrie's behalf and is determined to put away Eddie Guerrero. He sets up a Suplex of his own but Guerrero gets a kick to the midsection and a Backslide for the two count. He then makes the tag to Chavo. , “In comes Chavo Guerrero with the right hands!” Chavo hammers away of Billy Kidman before going to the top rope. He dives off of it but Billy catches him with a Drop Kick in mid air. JR, “Here’s the cover, one...two...shoulder up!” Chavo is clocked around the face by the cruiserweight and soon nailed with a Scoop Slam for the near fall. Billy then looks for the Kid Krusher but somehow Chavo rolls onto his feet and gets the German Suplex for the two count. Chavo lands one Elbow Drop after another to his opponent’s heart. Chavo picks him up and whips him to the ropes, but Kidman leapfrogs him sending him crashing into the corner and Kidman manages to equalise with a Monkey Flip out of nowhere! Kidman is crawling to his corner, it is within reach. Rey wants the tag but no! Chavo takes hold of Billy’s leg and drags him to the middle of the ring. Somehow Billy Kidman works his way onto one leg and gets a kick to the temple of his opponent. He then leaps to Rey Rey and makes the tag! Mysterio ducks a right hand from Chavo and gets a kick to the midsection, followed by the Sunset Flip Powerbomb for the one...two...kick out! Rey Mysterio then leaps off the top rope with a Missile Drop Kick for the two count. Eddie Guerrero enters the ring but he is sent back to ringside with a Shoulder Back Toss. Chavo gets a roll up for the near fall. He then goes to the top rope but Billy Kidman forced him to straddle on the turnbuckle with a Drop Kick. Rey Mysterio nails the Frankensteiner resulting in an incredible impact. Rey is about to hook the leg when Eddie Guerrero dives off of the top rope with a Flying Cross-body to Rey Rey! Eddie returns to the apron going for his trademark flip over, but as he does Billy Kidman leaps over the top rope, lands his feet on the ringside mats and gets a Sunset Flip/Power Bomb! Rey droptoeholds Chavo onto the middle rope and hits Chavo Guerrero with the 619 and Billy Kidman springs off of the top rope with a Shooting Star Press! Mysterio hooks the leg for the three count to win the match.
Winner: via pin fall is 10:42: Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman w/ Torrie

Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson all unite to celebrate inside the ring. JR, “Chavo and Eddie Guerrero were just put in their place by Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman.” King, “This match didn’t have to get personal. Kidman should just accept the truth, as hot as Torrie is, she had a taste of Latino Heat earlier in the night.” JR, “King, Torrie is a respectable woman and Eddie Guerrero’s lies are what got this match personal.” King, “We could argue all day but next up the Six-Man Tag that Chris Jericho announced earlier is to take place.

[7:30-7:45]

The Y2J countdown begins “5...4...3...2...1”, the pyros ignite in an awesome display as Chris Jericho performs his signature entrance. He heads into the ring and takes a microphone from the ring announcer. Jericho, “All hail the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla’!” The fans respond maliciously with by booing the former Undisputed Champion. Jericho, “Like your opinion matters! Anyway, allow me to introduce to you the PR man for the biggest rock group in music history Fozzy, my main man, Christian!” Christian performs his signature entrance, one of the most impressive in the WWE. He enters the ring and stands at the side of Y2J. Jericho, “Now allow me to introduce to you all mine and my Fozzy pals' new bodyguard, Test!” The seven footer makes his way to the ring and joins his teammates. Jericho, “Now it’s time to find out who has answered our challenge to a Six-Man Tag Team Match. So I’m looking for three ass-clowns to step into the ring with the seven-foot monster...Test, the one and only and Christian and finally yours truly, the Living Legend, the King of the World and a huge rockstar...Y2J Chris Jericho!” Suddenly, to Billy Gunn’s old music Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo arrive to a standing ovation. Jericho, “This the best the WWE can do? Chump Palumbo and Billy Runt?” Then to a stunning response from the crowd John Cena heads down the ramp and leads Chuck Palumbo and Billy Gunn into the ring.

6-Man Tag Team Match
'The Living Legend' Chris Jericho, Christian and Test vs John Cena, Chuck Palumbo and
Billy Gunn

The bell rings as all six men pair off in a tremendous fistfight. Test and Gunn, Christian and Palumbo and of course Y2J and Cena. Test sends Billy out of the ring with a Clothesline and follows him to ringside. Meanwhile Christian and Palumbo both tumble to ringside in their struggle. Chris Jericho looks for the Walls of Jericho but Cena somehow counters with a Hurricanrana and shots to the face. Cena then applies a modified headlock to wear down Jericho. Test clocks Billy Gunn before returning to the ring and stomping on John Cena until he releases the Living Legend. Test quickly slams Cena but Gunn pulls him out of the ring and back into their brawl. JR, “Billy saved Cena from another one of those huge Body Slams.” Jericho takes it to the rookie with right hands and whips him off of the ropes, into a Kitchen Sink knee smash. Y2J lands an Elbow Drop before getting the one count. He lifts Cena and drops him onto the turnbuckle with the Snake Eyes. The King of the World is in control of this match and brutalising his opponent with knife-edged chops. At ringside the brawls are broken up and the non-legal men of the match take their positions on the apron. JR, “Those knife-edged chops are turning Cena’s chest red." The rookie fights back with a kick to the face and some right hands to the jaw. He then pulverises Jericho with some of his own knife-edged chops. Y2J is forced to tag in Christian. The “PR guy” enters the ring and nails Cena with a shot to the head. He then Snap Suplexs Cena to the canvas for the two count. Christian grinds his elbow into the face of Cena before lifting him into a Scoop Slam. John Cena needs to desperately make the tag. He crawls towards his corner but Christian hits him with a Double Axe Handle. Cena falls to the ground and is put into a Camel Clutch. Billy and Chuck can clearly see their partner screaming in pain, just inches from their grasp. He is out of reach by such a small measurement. JR, “It must be frustrating to know that your only hope is just that little bit too far out of reach.” King, “Look JR, this could put Cena out of his misery.” John Cena raises his hand as if he is about to tap out, brings it down but Chuck Palumbo catches it for the tag! JR, “There’s the tag! Chuck Palumbo is in the ring and he is on fire!” Chuck rushes into the ring and breaks up the submission hold with a right hand. He then takes a swing at Test and Y2J before nailing Christian with the Clothesline! Cena rolls onto the apron allowing Billy to check on his condition. In the ring Palumbo has just nailed the DDT for the one...two...shoulder up! Palumbo lifts Christian into the air and straddles him against the turnbuckle. Palumbo looks for the Superplex but he is nailed in the gut repeatedly and pushed back towards the ring. Christian then delivers a Diving Elbow Drop! One...two...thr- kick out! JR, “No it isn't over!" King, "How did Palumbo kick out? Come on Y2J!" Chuck has been destroyed but he still tries to make the tag. Christian drags Chuck back into the middle of the ring and makes a tag of his own to Chris Jericho. Y2J struts into the ring and kicks Chuck when he is down to a deafening “Fozzy sucks” chant from the capacity crowd. JR, “Look at that ego-maniac! He is the most cocky, arrogant man in the WWE.” Jericho stalks Chuck as he struggles to stand. Then the King of the World moves in with the Bulldog! He follows it up with a Lionsault for the one...two...kick out! Jericho high fives Test for the next tag of the match. The seven-footer enters the ring and tosses Chuck into a turnbuckle. He then nails a tremendous Clothesline! Test shouts at Billy before he sets up the Power Bomb but he is caught with shot to the side. Palumbo breaks free of Test’s grasp and equalises with the Super Kick! JR, “Oh, I could hear the impact from all the way up here in the tech area.” Both men are down but Chuck is first to make the tag. As Test slowly arises Billy Gunn throws right hands at him. Test fights back with a powerful chop that knocks down Gunn! The bodyguard looks for the Big Boot but Billy ducks and from behind scores the One and Only! Gunn covers the giant for the near fall and can’t believe he hasn’t picked up the victory. JR, “For most competitors the One and Only is the end of the line but not for Test.” King, “You may not like his personality, JR, but even you have to admit he’s impressive in the ring.” JR, “Test kicking out of the One and Only is testament to that.” John Cena is on the apron desperate for the tag. Billy slaps his partner’s hand and in comes the rookie. Test is beaten on with right hands and kicks to the gut. Cena sets up the Cena-Bomb but Test tackles him to the ground. JR, “Look at how Test just took down John Cena like that!” King, “He’s one hell of an athlete, JR.” The big man then looks for the Pump Handle Slam but in mid air Cena wriggles to his feet and with the School Boy rolls up Test for the three count!
Winners by pin fall in 13:04: John Cena, Chuck Palumbo and Billy Gunn

John Cena celebrates in the ring with his arms raised in triumph. Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo join him. They pose in the ring and on the turnbuckles to the delight of the fans. Test is slumped into one corner of the ring trying to comprehend how he lost. Then a look of intense fury develops on his face. JR, “Test isn’t taking that loss too well.” Kevin Kelly enters the ring with a microphone to interview Cena. Kelly, “John Cena, how does it feel to know you have defeated three of the most accomplished stars in the business?” Before Cena can reply Test takes him down from behind. Chuck and Billy run at the seven-footer but they are both sent over the top rope with a Double Clothesline! JR, “Oh my God! Test has snapped!” Christian and Jericho enter the ring and try to calm Test down. They are forcibly restraining their companion. King, “Jericho and Christian are doing the right thing and trying to control
Test.” Then to the shock of WWE viewers, Jericho and Christian join in the beating. They both pummel the rookie with shots to the face. Y2J tackles him into the Walls of Jericho and forces him to scream in pain. Test takes the microphone from Kevin Kelly and holds it to his mouth. Test, “Cena, you little jackass! What just happened was a fluke and lightning never strikes twice in the same place! So this Thursday on Smackdown! I’m going to beat you fair and square!” Jericho releases the Walls and leaves with Christian and Test at his side. JR, “What a brutal assault! Those three athletes are not men but animals!”

[7:45 - 8:00]

Backstage we see a shot of the locker room. Out of it steps Rikishi to greet Mark Lloyd. Lloyd, “Rikishi, tonight you face Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit in a Stink Face Match. Aren’t you worried about stepping into the ring with two great technical wrestlers?” Rikishi, “Technical wrestling is Angle and Benoit’s speciality. But guess what my speciality is? Backing ‘dat ass up!” Rikishi returns to the locker room as Mark Lloyd smiles at the remark.

Elsewhere backstage, Vince McMahon is seen speaking with Triple H. Vince, “Hunter, after you humiliated and divorced my daughter I thought I’d make your life a living hell. But we all make mistakes. I need two team captains for the Survivor Series title match and I think that you’re a suitable one.” HHH, “Thanks Vince.” Triple H puts a friendly hand on McMahon’s shoulder. Vince, “This doesn’t mean we’re starting on a clean slate.” Hunter removes his hand. Vince, “Now in the absence of the General Manager, Eric Bischoff, I’m making tonight’s main event. The two team captains will be facing off one on one.” HHH, “Who is the other team captain?” Vince, “I’m keeping all other team members a secret.” HHH, “Oh come one Vince.” Vince, “Alright the other team captain is...”
Goldust steps into view and strikes his signature pose. Goldust, “Shhhfff, Goldust!” Vince, “No, it’s not Goldust. Why the hell is that maniac here anyway? The other team captain is Booker T.” HHH, “Booker T? That’s the best you can do?” The Booker Man steps into view behind Triple H. Booker T, “Listen dawg, when you were trying to learn a wristlock from a wristwatch I was doing something with my life and becoming a Tag Team Champion.” Triple H turns around to see Goldust and Booker T standing
side by side. HHH, “If you play the game then you’re going to get hurt. That goes for both of you.” Triple H and Vince leave in opposite directions as Booker T and Goldust stand side by side. Booker, “You know Goldie, it looks like game over for Triple H.” Goldust, “I can dig that...BOOKER!” Booker T, “Man, what in the hell are you doing? Don’t you have something better to do with you’re time than bother me!” JR, “Booker T versus Triple H, tonight!”

Triple Threat Stink Face Match
Kurt Angle vs 'The Crippler' Chris Benoit vs Rikishi

JR, “The backstage goings on in the WWE are getting more and more peculiar with each passing day.” King, “At least that idiot, Goldust isn’t a team captain for Survivor Series.” JR, “Now we get this awkward kind of match to say the least underway. To win you must deliver a Stink
Face.” Kurt Angle performs his signature entrance to “Medal”, his theme tune. He enters the ring to a “You Suck” chant from the sold-out crowd. Then to "Whatever" by Our Lady Peace, Chris Benoit makes his way into the ring and comes face to face with Kurt Angle. JR, “Earlier in the night, Benoit and Angle argued over who is the superior technical wrestler.” King, “Maybe we’ll find out in this match-up.” From the front row to the rafters, fans scream for Rikishi Phatu as he makes his way into the ring. The bell rings as Angle and Benoit lock up in a grapple. The technical geniuses perform a long series of grapples and counter-grapples. They roll around on the mat into one another’s submission manoeuvres until Rikishi squashes them both with a Leg Drop! Rikishi lifts Benoit and throws him out of the ring. He then takes it to Angle with right hands and sets up a Suplex. Angle drives his knee into Rikishi and begins to club him around the head. The Olympic Hero whips Rikishi off of the ropes and tries to catch him with a Belly to Belly. Phatu is too heavy and so counters with a Belly to Belly Suplex of his own. JR, “Already Rikishi is making an impact and the fans are loving it.” The Phat Man kicks Kurt when he is down before being tackled by Benoit from behind. The Crippler is looking for the Crossface and locks it on. Rikishi is tapping out but to win this match you must implement the Stink Face. The Phat Man is in pain but this doesn’t bring Benoit any closer to a victory. The American Hero arises and locks Rikishi in the Ankle Lock while Benoit has the Crossface. Rikishi is tapping out frantically but Angle soon releases the Phat Man and turns his attentions to Benoit. The technical wrestlers engage in another series of grapples and counter grapples culminating in some German Suplexs by the Rabid Wolverine. After three Suplexs Angle elbows Benoit in the temple and hits an Overhead Belly to Belly Suplex! JR, “Angle and Benoit just took each other apart.” Rikishi nails the Olympic Champion with a right hand and sends him into the turnbuckle. He then looks for a Running Thump but Angle steps aside and the Phat Man’s rear collides with the corner of the ring. Swiftly, Angle leaps up and tries to hit a Monkey Flip but Benoit takes him down with a clothesline and hits Rikishi with a Flying Forearm to the face of Rikishi! The Canadian Crippler goes to the top rope and connects with the Swandive Head-butt! JR, “An amazing aerial manoeuvre by Chris Benoit!” Rikishi rises to his feet and runs at the technical wrestler. Benoit ducks a shot from the Phat Man and sends him out of the ring with a Clothesline! Kurt Angle recovers from the Swandive and spins Benoit into an attempt at a finish. Benoit counters the Angle Slam by sliding onto his feet and looks for the German Suplex. Angle counters by landing on his feet. Benoit looks for a right hand but Kurt blocks it and with a shot of his own sends Benoit into the turnbuckle. The Rabid Wolverine falls into the Stink Face position and the American Hero looks somewhat embarrassed. He pulls down his ring attire and prepares to deliver the Stink Face but stops suddenly. Angle breathes heavily and tries to compose himself, but as he does Rikishi enters the ring. Kurt runs at the Phat Man but falls backwards into Benoit with a Martial Arts Kick to the jaw. Backstage Goldust is walking around the corridors speaking to people as he goes around. He turns a corner, but as he does HHH runs up behind him and hits him in the back with a sledgehammer. Goldust goes down clutching his ribs as HHH stands over him and smashes the hammer into his gut. HHH-"Tell your buddy that his ass is mine tonight!" HHH again smashes the hammer into the gut before picking him up and hitting a spinebuster through a nearby table. HHH walks off leaving Goldust laying on the broken table. Ross, "That damn HHH. What a son of a bi...wait a minute. That's the lottery tombola from earlier."
We see the tombola standing there as one of the backstage workers walks away from it towards the canteen. The tombola is left unguarded as Maven walks up to it. He looks around before spinning the tombola and opening the hatch. Maven, "And the winner is!...William Regal!?! What the..." Maven opens the hatch again and pulls out a handful of balls out before opening them one by one. Maven, "William Regal...William Regal...William Regal...oh, would you believe it...William Regal." Maven grabs another handful of the balls and walks off. Ross, "So it was a set up! Regal was guaranteed to become the IC Champion!"

As Maven walks off we see Matt Hardy in Vince's office. Vince is on the phone to someone and Matt is sitting in his casual clothes patiently waiting for Vince to finish. Vince, "Yeah. Yeah I'll talk to you later. Uh-huh . Yeah.(Vince puts the phone down) So Matt what do you want?" Matt, "Vince, I want in on the HV Title Survivor Series Match." Vince, "I don't know..." Matt, "You don't know? Vince, I have all the Mattributes to be in the match. Picture this...Matt Hardy, version 1, WWE Undisputed Champion!"
Vince, "Well I'm not sure. Look, tell you what tonight, you go out and prove to me you're worthy of it. You've got a match tonight against D-Lo Brown." Matt, "Who?" Matt looks at Vince, but before he can answer Maven bursts into the room. Maven, "We need to talk Vince" Vince, "Can't you see I'm busy!" Maven shows Vince the handful of tombola balls and Vince gulps. Maven, "No Vince, we need to talk...now." Vince, "Umm...um yes. OK, Matt could you excuse us please" Matt reluctantly walks out looking at Maven the whole time. He closes the door and hears it locked behind him.

Spanky vs American Dragon vs Crash

After Matt walks down the hallway, Spanky is standing in the ring waiting for Crash to walk down the aisle. Crash slides in and the two Cruiserweights quickly go at it with punches and kicks as American Dragon runs down to the ring and starts dominating over the two smaller athletes. He quickly throws Crash to the outside before grabbing Spanky and punching him around. Dragon whips Spanky into the ropes, but Spanky ducks a clothesline and somersault planchas to the outside onto Crash. The crowd chant 'Holy shit...Holy shit...Holy shit' as Spanky pulls himself up. He slides back in as Dragon slides out, and leaps out with a plancha on Dragon, but Dragon catches him and drops him face first on the apron. Dragon drags Spanky in and throws him to the ropes, but the student of Shawn Michaels holds on to the ropes. Spanky walks towards him, but Crash russian legsweeps him from behind. As Crash gets up Spanky hits a whirling neckbreaker and waits for him to get up. He goes for a superkick, but Crash catches it and pulls him into a wheelbarrow suplex...1...2..only two. Crash runs off the ropes looking to hit Spanky with something, but Dragon steps in the way and spinebusters him before turning around and hitting the Dragon Suplex on Spanky. JR, "Dragon is starting to dominate" Dragon waits for him to get back up and trips him, before hooking in a move similar to a Boston Crab, but in a Sharpshooter position. The ref checks if Spanky wants to give up, but he crawls towards the ropes. The pain on his face is immense, but he crawls on and eventually makes it to the ropes. Dragon tries to backdrop him, but he flips over, lands on his feet and turns Dragon around, but Dragon hoists him onto his shoulders and samoan drops him...1..Crash dropkicks Dragon to the outside and goes to the turnbuckles. Spanky gets back up, but Holly kicks him in the gut and hits a Crash Bulldog. He drops down to pin him, but Dragon pulls him off and throws him into the barricade. King-'Oh it's all breaking loose down there!' Dragon rolls back in and grabs Spanky in a double underhook position, but Spanky rolls out and bulldogs him from the second rope. Spanky runs at Dragon, Dragon throws him up in the air but Spanky hurricanrana him on the way back down...1...2...no, only two. Crash gets back in as Spanky gets clotheslined by Dragon. Crash stands back and cockily watches as Dragon picks Spanky up, hoists him onto the shoulder and crucifix powerbombs him. Dragon raises his arms in the air, but as he does Crash kicks him in the gut and puts him in position for the Crash Landing. Crash tries to hit it twice, but Dragon crawls out of it. Crash turns around and Dragon throws him onto his shoulders. Dragon walks around with Crash draped across his shoulders, but suddenly Spanky rolls up Dragon as Dragon falls back on Crash...1...2...the ref doesn't count because Spanky is pinning Dragon, but Dragon is also pinning Crash at the same time. JR, "What the hell happened? The ref isn't counting because there's two pins happening at the same time" Spanky gets up and argues with the ref, as Crash DDTs Dragon. Spanky turns around and Crash hits him with the Crash Landing...1...2...Dragon legdrops Crash. Dragon throws Crash to the outside and hits a reverse DVD on Spanky...1...2...Crash again pulls Dragon off. Dragon pulls Holly in and spinebusters him but Spanky spinkicks Dragon to the outside and goes to the top rope. Dragon gets onto the apron, but Spanky kicks him to the floor and then moonsaults onto him. King, "He's mad! What the hell did Michaels teach this kid!" He gets back to the top rope and hits a 450 splash on Crash...1...2...3...Spanky wins a great match.
Winner:Spanky by pinfall in 8:52
Ross-"What a match up! These three gave their all here tonight, and have a great future here in the Cruiserweight Division." King-"Here in the BEST Cruiserweight division in wrestling, here in the WWE." Ross-"Too true King. We have some great Cruiserweights in the WWE as you saw earlier, and just now."

American Dragon is walking around smashing things up and throwing things around as he goes. Kevin Kelly runs up to him but Dragon walks on. Kelly-"American Dragon, can I get a word about your great match with Crash Holly and Spa..." Dragon shoves Kevin against a wall before walking off out of shot. Ross-'That American Dragon's got one hell of a temper on him. Wait, we're hearing that Goldust is being attended to backstage.

[8.15-8.30]
Goldust is still laying on the wreckage of the table as some EMTs check on him. He's bleeding from the mouth whilst favouring his ribs. Booker T is trying to see if he's alright, but the EMTs try to keep him out of the way. Booker-"Goldie...who done this? Was it Hunter?(Goldust grunts to say yes)Goldie. That son of a bitch is gonna pay. Trust me. Look, come on we gotta get you to the hospital. Come on we gotta get him in the ambulance. Come on!" Booker tries to hurry things along as the EMTs put Goldust on a backboard. They carry him to the stretcher and wheel him over to the ambulance. As Booker helps the EMTs put Goldust in the ambulance, HHH stands in a corner watching on with a sick smile on his face.

Matt Hardy vs 'The Real Deal' D-Lo Brown

D-Lo slides into the ring and gets on the turnbuckles to pose for the crowd. He steps down and waits for his opponent. Matt's music plays and he cockily walks out to the ring. Matt slides in and he goes face to face with D-Lo. Matt starts to talk smack to D-Lo, but the Real Deal shuts him up by punching him in the jaw. D-Lo continues to punch the hell out of Matt before whipping him to the ropes and hitting a high Back Body Drop. Matt slides to the outside holding his jaw before complaining about a hair pull. The ref questions D-Lo, but as he does Matt swiftly slides in the ring and hits him in the back. Matt kicks D-Lo into a corner. Hardy whips him across, but D-Lo pushes himself up and over the onrunning Hardy, sending him sternum first into the corner, before hitting with a Spinebuster as he turns back around. Matt stumbles up and D-Lo hits him square in the jaw with a Sidekick. Brown then goes for the Sky High, but Matt punches him in the top of the head and then hits a DDT. Hardy waits for D-Lo to get up and goes for the Twist Of Fate, but Brown shoves him off into the ropes and catches him coming off with a Sky High. The Real Deal climbs to the top rope and Matt lays on the floor half conscious. JR, "D-Lo going up top looking to fly here." D-Lo leaps off looking for the Lo Down, but Matt moves and D-Lo lands hard on the mat. Matt quickly goes to the middle rope and hits the Leg Drop to the back of Brown's head for the 1...2...no! D-Lo kicks out as Matt argues with the ref. Matt shoves the ref away, but turns around into a Belly to Belly by D-Lo and D-Lo gets a near fall. D-Lo then goes for a Clothesline, but Matt ducks and rolls D-Lo up, putting his feet on the ropes and gets the1, 2, 3! JR, "Damn he had his feet all over the damn ropes!" King, "What the hell are the ropes there for if you can't use them once in a while"
Winner:Matt Hardy by pinfall in 4:43

Matt celebrates as if he's just won the World Title before grabbing a microphone. D-Lo walks up the ramp angrily arguing with the ref on his way as Matt looks around the crowd. Matt, "Hey Vince. I told you, I told you I would impress you. Hell I just beat the supposed 'Real Deal' in under 5 minutes! So am I in?" Matt stands waiting as 'No Chance' plays and Vince walks out with a microphone. He has a slightly angry look on his face, possibly because of his 'meeting' with Maven. Vince raises the microphone ready to speak, but as he does Jeff Hardy sprints out from behind him. Jeff slides in an starts to attack Matt with fists and kicks. Vince watches on as referees pile out from backstage to try and separate the two siblings. Vince, "Hey! Hey what the hell do you two think you are doing! Jeff! Hey, referees stop them! Jeff, just who the hell do you think you are barging into me? You two want to fight!?! Not on this show. Not like this. At Survivor Series, you can fight! You two are going to be team captains in a special ten man version of the Survivor Series Rules Match! Your teams will be chosen over the next couple of weeks, but until then I don't want you two going anywhere near each other unless I say so!" Jeff nods in agreement, but from behind Matt hits him in the back of the head with the microphone before sliding out of the ring and walking up the ramp. Vince, "Oh and whilst I'm at it, Maven will fight for the Intercontinental Title next." JR, "Alright, Maven got one over on McMahon and Regal, and we're gonna see Intercontinental Title action tonight!"

Y2J and Christian are sitting in a dressing room trying to calm down Test. Test starts smashing the room up before there's a knock at the door and Jericho stands up to answer it. He opens the door and sees a small kid wearing a Fozzy shirt standing there with a book in his hand. Kid, "Hello Mr Jericho. Can I have your autograph please?" Jericho, "Test! Security alert!" JR, "Security alert?" Test stops his angry out burst and grabs the kid by the shirt, lifting him up and throwing him away from the door. Test, "Keep away from Chris" Jericho, "Where were you man, he could have had a knife or anything!" JR, "A knife!?! He was about 10 years old. I think this whole rockstar thing has gone to Jericho's head King" King, "You can't be too careful when you're a HUGE rockstar like Chris Jericho"

Somewhere else in the backstage area, we see Bradshaw laying in the middle of a round broken table. He holds his ribs as the camera pans out and we see Faarooq standing over him. JR, "What the hell!" Faarooq, "Damn!" Faarooq walks off leaving Bradshaw laying in the table wreckage. King, "Oh my god, the A.P.A have exploded!"

Intercontinental Title Match
William Regal (c) vs Maven
The theme from Tough Enough 1 plays and the crowd cheer loudly as the young, charismatic Maven bursts out from behind the curtain. He slides into the ring and impatiently waits for the new Intercontinental Champion to make his way out. Regal's sinister sounding music plays and he walks to the ring with his newly 'won' Intercontinental Title around his waist. As he shuffles his feet on the apron in his familiar way, Maven hits him in the head and sends him flying off to the floor. Regal staggers towards the ring apron and Maven takes his opportunity and leaps out with a Plancha. Maven pulls Regal's IC belt off and throws him into the ring, but as he follows him in Regal knees him in the ribs. Regal continues to drop knees to the ribs as the ref tries to pull him away. Regal hits an elbow to the side of the head before carrying on the brutality with knees to the gut and ribs as the match moves into the next time zone.

[8.30-8.45]
Regal goes for a suplex, but Maven floats over and shoves him into the ropes and hits a high Dropkick. Maven catches Regal with another Dropkick, and then another. Maven whips Regal to the ropes, but Regal holds onto the ropes and Maven lands hard on his already weakened ribs. Regal throws forearms at the Tough Enough Champion before leaping up driving both knees into Maven's face. JR, "Regal's taking control of the youngster now." Regal ducks a wild swing by Maven and hooks his arm before nearly breaking Maven's neck with a devastating Half Nelson Suplex. King, "He just broke Maven's neck! He just broke his neck!" Regal pulls Maven up by the arm and knocks him straight back down with a Short Arm Clothesline. The crowd try to get behind the popular youngster but Regal continues to thwart any comeback attempts. Maven goes for a kick to the gut, but Regal grabs the leg and Dragon Screw's him down and quickly locks him into the Regal Stretch! Maven screams out in pain as the submission specialist hooks on his favourite hold. King, "Maven should give it up. It's over" JR, "This kid has got so much heart that he's gonna fight this hold until he can fight no more." King, "Well I think he's running out of fight right now JR." Maven looks like he's going to tap out, but he continues to crawl towards the ropes, before finally reaching out and grabbing it to a huge cheer from the crowd. Regal pulls Maven up and Suplexs him towards the middle of the ring before locking the legs into the Regal Stretch position, but Maven turns over somehow and rolls Regal up for a near fall. Regal knees Maven in the head to get the advantage back, but as he picks him up Maven forearms Regal in the head repeatedly. Maven whips Regal to the ropes, Regal tries to counter with a Clothesline but the rookie manages to duck and drop the veteran on the ropes throat first. Maven forearms Regal again before hitting a Dropkick and going to the top rope. Regal staggers up and Maven dives off with a Cross Body and gets an incredibly close near fall. Maven runs to the ropes and hits a Swinging Neckbreaker before the 'Goodwill Ambassador' of the WWE gets rolled up for a two count. Regal hits a knee to the gut though and goes for the Regal Cutter, but Maven rolls out of it and whips Regal to the ropes hitting a Spinebuster and covering him...1...2...no! Maven goes to the second ropes and hits a Tornado DDT! The crowd cheer Maven on as he runs at Regal, but Regal ducks a clothesline and rolls Maven up pulling the tights at the same time, but Maven kicks out at two. A desperate Regal hits Maven with a suspiciously low knee, before reaching into his tights and pulling out a pair of Brass Knuckles. Maven pushes the ref away and that gives Regal the chance to hit an undetected brass knux shot and hook a leg to get a three count. The crowd boo in disapproval as Regal is passed his Intercontinental Title belt and he escapes up the ramp.
Winner and still Intercontinental Champion:William Regal by pinfall in 10:38
JR, "That damn Regal with those brass knux again! He gets awarded the belt in a phoney draw earlier, and now he beats Maven with a foreign object!"

Once again a camera is hurriedly trying to catch up with something in the backstage area. This time we see a heated brawl between Spanky and American Dragon going on. Dragon is beating the hell out of Spanky before grabbing a chair and denting it over his head. Officials try to separate Dragon from Spanky as Spanky begins to bleed from the forehead. Dragon screams out to Spanky before walking out of the room.

Main Event
Booker T vs 'The Game' Triple H

'The Game' by Motorhead begins to play as Triple H walks out to the ring with his bottle of water in his hand. He walks down the ramp, but as he gets halfway down Booker T comes running up from behind him and starts to attack him. Booker punches Hunter in the face repeatedly, rocking him back up the rampway. Booker finally knocks HHH down before throwing him into the Raw set head first. Booker Clotheslines HHH down before leading him down the steps towards the announce table. Booker moves 'The King' out of the way before ramming HHH head first into the table. King' "I thought we'd escaped all this JR!" Booker pulls HHH onto the table with him and goes for a BookEnd, but Hunter knees him low and sets up the Pedigree. JR, "Oh no. Not here!" Booker lowblows his way out of the Pedigree attempt and backdrops HHH of the table and onto the floor. Booker drags HHH back up the steps and throws him into the set again as the crowd chant for Booker. The two brawl down the ramp and into the ring where Booker throws HHH to the ropes and Back Body Drops him. The punches from Booker continue until the ref gets shoved away by Booker and Hunter lowblows T. HHH then drops a knee to the lower regions of Booker and gets warned by the referee as we go to another break.

*commercial break*

[8.45-9.00]
Back from the break HHH is in control of Booker. A replay of Booker missing a Houston Sidekick and crotching himself on the ropes during the break plays as HHH whips Booker T to the ropes, and wraps on the Sleeper Hold. Booker tries to reach for the ropes, but HHH stops Booker from getting near them, so Booker turns into the move and Back Suplexs HHH out of desperation. Both men are down as the ref begins the count...1...2...3...4...5...6...7..HHH gets up, but so does Booker. Booker blocks HHH's right hand and delivers a right of his own. The 5 time WCW Champion senses he's in control and starts to punch HHH against the ropes, before whipping him across the ring and hitting a Houston Sidekick. HHH staggers up and Booker Flapjacks the Game before hitting a spinning heel kick for a nearfall. HHH clotheslines Booker out of desperation though and the momentum swings again. Booker though knees HHH and runs to the ropes, ducks a Helmsley clothesline but doesn't duck a knee right to the jaw, and HHH covers him quickly for a two. The crowd try to get behind Booker as HHH hits a Knee Smash and clotheslines him down. HHH gets a long two count. JR, "That could have been all right there." HHH kicks Booker in the gut and the crowd boo loudly as HHH sets up a Pedigree, but Booker lowblows Helmsley, trips him up and slingshots him towards the corner, but the ref gets in the way and gets squashed in the corner. The ref is down as Booker knocks HHH down with a spinning heel kick. Booker covers, but there's no ref to count. Booker tries to revive the ref but as he turns around HHH kicks Booker and quickly hits the Pedigree! This time The Game is denied the win as the ref is still down. HHH angrily looks at the ref, before suddenly smiling sadistically and rolling outside the ring. King, "Uh-oh JR, HHH has some bad intentions here!" HHH reaches under the ring and slowly pulls out a sledgehammer as the crowd cheers. JR, "Oh no, not that sledgehammer. We need some help out here now!" Helmsley slowly slides into the ring with the hammer in hand and raises it above his head looking down at Booker sadistically. JR, "NO! Don't do it, you son of a bitch!" HHH brings the hammer down, but as he does Booker lowblows him and Helmsley misses. Booker waits for HHH to turn around and he hits a kick to the gut and a Scissors Kick before getting onto one knee and looking intensely at his hand...before spinning around and performing the Spin-a-roonie! JR, "Booker with the Spin-a-roonie! Wait, where's he going?" Booker slides to the outside and looks underneath the ring, before pulling out a sledgehammer of his own! Booker slides in and goes to hit HHH with the sledgehammer, but Hunter ducks and picks his own sledgehammer. Both men look at each other, both with sledgehammers in hand,. when suddenly the bell rings. The ref talks to and gets him/her to announce a double disqualification.
Winner:Double DQ in 12:49
The crowd boo as Vince McMahon suddenly appears from behind the curtain. Vince, "Damn it you couldn't even give us a winner! I'm beginning to doubt whever you two should be team captains at Survivor Series." Some of the crowd cheer as we see someone running through a section of the crowd. Vince, "In fact, maybe...just maybe this man should be!" HHH and Booker look around confused, but as they do someone slides in the ring...JR, "OH MY GOD, IT'S RHYNO!!!" The crowd go absolutely mad as Rhyno stares the two men down. Vince, "Rhyno, you know what to do. Show them who's team you're on!" Vince smiles as Rhyno starts to breath harder than before. Rhyno charges at Booker, but stops short. Vince's look of confidence changes to one of worry, until Rhyno suddenly charges towards HHH and GORES him! Rhyno is passed a microphone as Vince is going mad on the rampway. Rhyno, "Vince, my contract states that I'm in the Survivor Series Match, but it didn't say which team!" Vince throws the microphone down as Rhyno and Booker look curiously. JR, "Oh my god! Rhyno's back in the WWE, and he's in the Survivor Series Match, by the looks of things on Booker T's team! My god, what repercussions will there be on Smackdown!" Booker and Rhyno continue to look at each other as the show ends.

Coming up next is NWA Xplosion. Thanks to Neil Wizig for putting together this stylish show.

NWA Monday Night Xplosion
October 21, 2002
Compaq Center in Houston, Texas
Announcers: Tony Schiavone ad Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
Written by: Neal Wizig

[8:00-8:15]

Xplosion comes on the air with the cameras fixed on Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heena, who are seated at the announcer’s table at ringside. In the background, the sold out crowd is going crazy. Schiavone says, “Hello everybody, I am Tony Schiavone, and I am joined here at ringside by Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, and we are proud to bring to you the very first edition of NWA Xplosion, live from the Compaq Center in Houston, Texas. We are going to get right down to business tonight, because the owner of this great company, Jerry Jarrett, is standing in the ring and he has a microphone in hand.

The camera switches to the ring where we see Jerry Jarrett standing in the center ring with a microphone. Jarrett, “I am extremely honored to have to have the privilege to welcome all of our great fans here in Houston and our fans watching at home to a new era in the National Wrestling Alliance.” The crowd starts chanting “NWA! NWA! NWA!” Jarrett, “Thank you, thank you. However, this will be the last time that you see me in a NWA arena, because I will be handing over the reigns of the NWA to a new commissioner. So, without further ado, please welcome the NEW commissioner of the NWA . . . RIC FLAIR!” A loud woooooo is heard on the p.a. system followed by Ric Flair’s customary music. Flair steps out onto the stage and starts to make his way to the ring. He is carrying the NWA World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder. The crowd is going crazy, giving the new commissioner a standing ovation. Schiavone, “Oh my god Brain, its Ric Flair! Ric Flair is the new commissioner of the NWA!” Heenan, “Thank you for clarifying that for me and all of the nimrods at home Schiavone. But out of all the possible commissioners that Jerry Jarrett could have chosen, why would he choose Flair?” Schiavone, “Will you shutup Brain. Flair has entered the ring, so let’s just sit back and listen to what he has to say.” Flair shakes Jarrett’s hand and grabs the microphone as Jarrett leaves the ring. The crowd is still going nuts, with some of them chanting “Woooooo!” Flair, “Thank you, thank you. Tonight is great night in the history of the NWA. You see, a new era begins here tonight for the greatest federation in the history of professional wrestling. With my first act as commissioner, all NWA champions have been stripped of their titles so that we can crown all new ones, and that will start tonight. In this very ring tonight, we will crown a new NWA United States Champion when fifteen NWA superstars compete in an over-the-top-rope battle royal, with the final two superstars going one-on-one in a match that can be won by pinfall or submission only.” Upon hearing this news, the crowd pops big time for the Nature Boy. Flair, “Also here tonight, we will crown new NWA Tag Team Champions in a fatal-fourway elimination match that will feature the Dudley Boyz, Kronik, Rosie and Jamal, and a mystery team. Eventually, we will have a new X-Division Champion, but there is just not enough time for that to that will not take place tonight. That is because tonight, we will kick off a sixteen man, single elimination tournament to crown a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion which will culminate on December 1 at our first pay per view entitled Greed. The first two matches of that tournament will be . . .” “THE CHOSEN ONE . . .” blasts over the p.a. system as Jeff Jarrett comes out onto the stage wearing jeans and a t-shirt that says The Chosen One on it and he has a microphone. The crowd boos Jarrett. Jarrett, “Hold it right there Flair.” The crowd is giving Jarrett some serious heat. “All of you Texas idiots need to just shut the hell up, because the Chosen One is talking. Flair, you jurassic slapass, what the hell do you think that you are doing starting a tournament for the NWA World Title? You and everyone else here in the arena know that I, Jeff Jarrett, should be the first NWA Heavyweight Champion. So Flair, will you stop wasting everybody’s time, and just hand the belt over to me.” Flair, “Jarrett, I would be lying if I said that I am surprised that you are out here right now talking yourself up. But you see Jeff, I have never liked you, and that dates back to our days together in the old wCw. Jarrett, you think that you should just be handed the most prestigious championship in the industry? You may very well be the boss’s son, but that does not make a damn difference to the Nature Boy. So let me tell you something Jarrett, I have held this championship belt many times in the past, as has so many of the most legendary names in the history of this business. I take this belt very seriously, and the commissioner of the NWA, I am going to see to it that you never wear this championship belt around your waist. Woooooo!” The crowd chimes in with a woooooo of its own. Jarrett is fuming. Jarrett, “Shutup Flair! I will . . .” Flair, “No Jeff, you shutup! You know Jeff, before I was so rudely interrupted, I was going to announce the first two matches of the tournament, but now I think that I am going to change one of those matches. You see, tonight, it will be Ken Shamrock going one-on-one with Jerry Lynn, and in the second tournament match, you will be facing a former NWA Champion. You will be facing STING!” Ric Flair’s music hits as he makes his way towards the back. The crowd is going insane over Flair’s big announcement while Jarrett is still standing in the ring yelling and screaming over what just happened. Schiavone, “My god Brain, tonight, not only are we going to crown new United States and Tag Team Champions, but we will kick off the World Title Tournament when Ken Shamrock faces Jerry Lynn and Jeff Jarrett facing Sting.” Heenan, “I can not believe it either Tony. I mean, not only did Flair not give Jarrett the title, but now he has to face Sting tonight.” Schiavone, “Well, I know that I cannot wait for that matchup, but coming up next, it will that the fifteen man battle royal for the vacant US Championship.”

[8:15-8:30]

NWA United States Title Battle Royal
Participants: Big Vito, Edge, Lance Storm, Buff Bagwell, Steve Corino, Ron Killings, Curt Henning, Shawn Stasiak, Vampiro, Malice, Brian Christopher, Konnan, Syxx, Shane Helms and “Roadogg” Jesse James

As Xplosion returns from the commercial break, all fifteen participants in the battle royal are in the ring. The referee calls the bell and immediately all hell breaks loose. Malice and Vampiro form an alliance as they beat on Edge in one corner of the ring. In another corner, Shane Helms is already holding on for dear life as Big Vito tries to throw him over the top rope. Vito has Helms about half way out the ring before Helms rakes his eyes and falls back into the ring. Curt Henning and Lance Storm stomp away on Konnan in the center of the ring. Meanwhile, Syxx delivers a scintillating spinning heel kick on Ron Killings that gets a big pop from the crowd. Storm sends Konan off the ropes and Konnan goes for a clothesline but Storm ducks out of the way. Konnan’s momentum carries him into a back body drop over the top rope from Henning, which eliminates Konnan from the battle royal. Schiavone, “Well Brain, Konnan has just become the first casualty of this battle royal. Now it is down to fourteen superstars in the ring.”

Eliminated: Konnan at 2:03

After sending Konnan over the top rope, Henning is hit from behind by Steve Corino. Corino tries to take out Henning, but Storm makes the save from behind. Meanwhile Brian Christopher and Roadogg exchange right hands in the middle of the ring. Shane Helms delivers a high elevated dropkick to the back of Big Vito, sending him over the top rope and to the outside.

Eliminated: Big Vito at 2:56

Edge begins to mount some offense of Vampiro by hitting a suplex, but Malice takes him down with a vicious clothesline to the back of the head. Ron Killings hits Shawn Stasiak with thunderous ddt, and then begins to taunt the crowd. The crowd gives Killings some serious heat, including a “You Suck!” chants. Heenan, “This is disgraceful Tony; these people are showing no respect to the former NWA Heavyweight Champion.” Buff Bagwell and Brian Christopher are trying to eliminate each other in the corner of the ring when the opportunistic Malice comes up from behind and throws them both out of the ring. Schiavone, “Malice has just taken out two guys at the same time. This guy is a monster whom is going to be very hard to eliminate in this all important match up.”

Eliminated: Brian Christopher and Buff Bagwell at 6:22

The Roadogg and Steve Corino are going at it by the ropes. Roadogg goes for a clothesline by Corino ducks out of the way and the momentum sends Roadogg over the top rope, but his feet do not touch the floor. Corino begins to gloat when Roadogg comes back in the ring and hits Corino with a big pump-handle slam. Edge nails Vampiro with several right hands to the face, but Vampiro blocks the fourth attempt and delivers a vertical suplex on Edge. Shane Helms then flies off of the top rope and hits Vampiro with a big cross body block. This draws the attention of Malice, who has been working over Stasiak in the corner. Malice grabs Helms and sets him up for a chokeslam when Lance Storm charges at Malice. Malice then grabs Storm by the throat as well and hits a double chokeslam. Heenan, “Tony, for once in your life you might just be right. This Malice is a monster. I think that he is my favorite to win this battle royal and become the new United States Champion.” Schiavone, “Way to go out on a limb there Brain.” Meanwhile, Syxx hits another big spinning heel kick on Corino. Syxx plays to crowd afterwards when Stasiak comes up from behind Syxx and throws him over and out. Killings then sneaks up from behind Stasiak and eliminates him from the battle royal as well.

Eliminated: Syxx at 8:24 and Shawn Stasiak at 8:31

Corino has Edge up on the top turnbuckle. Corino then climbs up to the top and goes for a superplex, but Edge knocks Corino off of the top rope and down to the mat. Edge then delivers a big elbow drop from the top rope to Corino. Killings runs off of the ropes towards Storm, but Malice catches him and delivers a chokeslam. At the same time, Vampiro hits the Nail in the Coffin on Curt Henning. Roadogg then charges at Vampiro, but Vampiro moves out of the way and Roadogg’s momentum sends over the top rope and to the floor. Heenan, “I always knew that the Roadogg was an idiot and he just proved my point by eliminating himself.”

Eliminated: Roadogg at 9:27

With only eight men left in the match, Malice continues his destruction by delivering a powerslam to Edge. Vampiro and Steve Corino are fighting as are Shane Helms and Lance Storm. Curt Henning and Ron Killings are just making it their feet after Malice hit them with chokeslams earlier in the match. Vampiro gains the upper hand on Corino by raking him in the eyes and then executing a chin buster. Lance Storm bounces off of the ropes at Shane Helms, but Helms leapfrogs over Storm. Storm then comes back off of the other ropes and chopblocks Helm’s left knee. Storm then goes to work on Shane’s knee. Henning hits a back body drop on Killings, but when he gets up off of the mat, Vampiro throws him out of the ring. At the same time, Edge grabs Corino by the hair and throws him over the top rope.

Eliminated: Curt Henning and Steve Corino at 10:07

Schiavone, “Curt Henning and Steve Corino both put up a great fight in there but I guess that it just was not meant to be for them Brain. As a survey the ring, I cannot believe that Shane Helms is still in there.” Right as Tony says this, Helms is thrown over the top rope by Malice. Heenan, “It looks like you spoke just a little too soon there Schiavone. Now we are getting down to the nitty gritty.”

Eliminated: Shane Helms at 10:54

Lance Storm, Edge, Ron Killings, Malice and Vampiro are left in the ring. Edge, Storm, and Killing all look at each other. Edge then delivers a vicious spear on Vampiro while Storm and Killings charge at Malice. Malice tries to fight them off, but now Edge is focused on him too. Killings and Storm punch away on Malice as Edge hits him with a big clothesline. The clothesline shakes Malice, but he stays on his feet. The then all rush at him and hit him with a triple clothesline, sending him up and over the tope rope. The crowd pops big time as Malice has been eliminated. However, Vampiro gets up and grabs Killings from behind and proceeds to eliminate him from the match.

Eliminated: Malice at 12:11 and Ron Killings at 12:46

Schiavone, “And then there were three. One of there three men will become the new United States Champion!” Edge then goes for Vampiro, but Storm attacks Edge from behind. Lance delivers a backbreaker, which Vampiro follows up with an elbow drop. Vampiro and Storm talk over strategy as Vampiro picks Edge off of the mat. Vampiro hold Edge up and Storm run at him, seeking to hit Edge with a clothesline. However, Edge ducks out of the way and Storm eliminated Vampiro.

Eliminated: Vampiro at 14:27

Schiavone, “Well Brain, its going to be Lance Storm and Edge in a one fall to finish match for the NWA United States Championship. And that match starts right now!” Edge and Storm stare each other down and before Storm hits a right hand to the face of Edge. However, Vampiro re-enters the ring and lays both Edge and Storm out with a steel chair! The crowd does not like this one bit and they let Vampiro know how they feel with a chorus of boos. Schiavone, “What a sore loser this Vampiro is Brain. Both Edge and Lance Storm have been knocked out cold. This match will continue after we get back from this commercial break!”

[8:30-8:45]

As Xplosion returns from the commercial break, Lance Storm has Edge pinned back into the corner. Storm delivers three hard kicks to midsection of Edge before sending Edge into the opposite corner. Storm follows up by running at Edge in the corner, but Edge counters by hitting Storm in the face with his left boot. Storm staggers back towards the middle of the ring as Edge charges at him with a clothesline, but Storm ducks down and avoids the contact. With Edge’s back towards him, Storm lunges at Edge and takes him down with a chop block to the left knee. Edge falls down to the canvas, grabbing his knee and screaming in pain. Storm waists no time as he immediately goes to work on Edge’s injured knee. Storm grabs Edge’s leg and hits three kicks directly on the left knee of Edge. Lance pulls Edge up to his feet by his hair and then executes a picture perfect snap suplex. Storm goes for the cover but Edge kicks out easily after two. Storm once again picks Edge up by the hair but Edge fights back by hitting storm with a hard right hand, then another one, but Lance puts an end to Edge’s offensive kicking Edge in the left knee. Lance then goes off of the ropes and goes for a clothesline, but Edge avoids the contact and counters with the Edge-O-Matic. Edge grabs Lance’s legs for the cover and the referee counts: one . . . two . . . thr . . . Storm kicks out. Edge gets back up to his feet and he waits for Lance to get up, preparing to deliver the spear. Storm pulls himself up in the corner and as he gets up Edge attempts the spear, but Storm moves out of the way and Edge nails his shoulder on the ring post. Edge staggers out of the corner, but he walks right into Storm, who hooks Edge in Maple Leaf! Edge is on the mat, his body writhing in pain. Storm is yelling for Edge to submit, but he will not give up. Edge starts to crawl towards the ropes, but he is moving very slowly because he is in so much pain. Edge reaches for the bottom rope and he just barley grabs it, forcing Storm to release the hold. Lance is furious that Edge did not submit and he pulls Edge back into the center of the ring. Lance reaches down to grab Edge’s left leg for the Maple Leaf leg lock again, but Edge grabs onto Storm’s head on rolls him up in a small package. The referee counts one . . . two . . . thre . . . STORM KICKS OUT! The crowd is going crazy over the near fall. Both men get back to their vertical base. Storm goes for the super kick, but Edge grabs Storm’s leg. Edge spins Lance around and then hits him with the Edge-o-Cution! Edge makes the cover and the referee counts the one . . . two . . . three!
Winner and NEW NWA United States Champion: Edge via pinfall in 26:17.
Schiavone, “Edge, Edge, Edge! Edge has just become the United States Champion, and what a hell of a match that just was Heenan.” Heenan, “It was an amazing match Schiavone, but I think that Lance Storm would make a much more respectable champion than Edge.” Schiavone, “That’s your opinion Brain, but right now we’re going to send it back to our broadcast colleague Goldylocks, who is about to get a word from Ric Flair.”

The camera switches to the back where Goldylocks knocks on Ric Flair’s office. Flair, “Come in.” Goldylocks then opens to the door, where we see Flair and Arn Anderson sitting on a black leather couch and talking to each other. Goldylocks, “Excuse me, Mr. Flair; I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.” Flair, “No problem Goldylocks, what exactly do you want to know?” Goldylocks, “Well, I was wondering if I could find out some details on this tournament that you have set up for the NWA World Title.” Flair, “No problem, but first off I would like to congratulate Edge on a tremendous victory out there. I know that Edge will make me proud as the United States champion. Now to answer your question, the tournament will consist of sixteen NWA superstars, with the first two rounds taking place right here on Xplosion. After that, the final four participants remaining will compete at Greed, where someone will have to win two matches in order to become the champion.” Arn Anderson then whispers something into Flair’s ear. Flair, “Thank you Arn. I have a few other announcements for tonight’s show. I have added another match for tonight, as we will get a preview of the X-Division when Jamie Knoble goes one on one with A.J. Styles. Also, I promise a HUGE surprise for the fans tonight that will definitely increase their interest for the championship tournament. Now if you would please, leave me and Arn to discuss some business.” With that, Goldylocks exits Flair’s office.

The camera then switches to a view of the “Million Dollar Man” Ted Diebiase leaving someone’s dressing room. He has a big smile on his face as he gives off his evil laugh. The door shuts behind him and we see a sign that says Ken Shamrock on it. Schiavone, “What the hell is Ted Diebiase doing here in the NWA, and more importantly, why was in Ken Shamrock’s dressing room?” Heenan, “I have no idea Tony, but my sources have told me that when return from this commercial break, we are going to get that preview of the X-Division as A.J. Styles battles Jamie Knoble.”

(Commercial Break)

[8:45-9:00]

As we come back from the break, we see Curt Henning and Jeff Jarrett sitting in the dressing room as Lance Storm is throwing things around. Henning, “Lance, you have to calm down man. We know that you should be wearing the United States title around your waist right now, but we have more important issues to worry about here. I mean, Jeff has to face Sting later tonight with a lot on the line.” Storm, “I know, I know. I just can’t believe that I lost to that long haired loser Edge.” Jarrett, “Guys, guys, let’s just focus here. Lance, you’ll get hands on Edge again soon enough, but right now we need to concentrate on how we’re going to take out that slapass Sting. Here’s what I have in mind . . .” With that line the door shuts and we are cut off to their conversation.

A.J. Styles
vs.
Jamie Knoble

A.J.'s theme music comes over the p.a. system to a chorus of boos from the fans. He comes to the ring, slides in, and poses for the crowd. Jamie Knoble's theme music then plays as he gets major heat from the fans. Both men tie up as the bell sounds. Jamie backs A.J. into the corner and then begins to give him some opened hand chops to the chest. Knoble goes to whip A.J. into the opposite corner but AJ jumps up onto the middle turnbuckle and nails Knoble with a vaulting body press. He then nails Knoble with several right hands to the face. He backs Knoble into the ropes and then begins to give him several body shots to his side. Jamie comes out of the ropes with a right hand to the face. Jamie nails several more and then whips him into the ropes. He goes for a dropkick but A.J. holds onto the ropes. A.J. then delivers a dropkick to Jamie, sending him through the ropes and to the outside floor. A.J. runs to the ropes and jumps outside and on top of him. A.J. picks Jamie up and then whips him into the steel safety rail. He charges after him but Jamie moves out of the way and sends A.J. into the steel barrier. Jamie grabs A.J. and tosses him shoulder-first into the ring post. Jamie rolls A.J. into the ring and climbs the top rope. He jumps off and lands a missile dropkick. He goes for the pin but A.J. kicks out. Jamie picks A.J. up and puts him in a headlock. Styles reverses it and nails a clothesline. He picks Jamie up and throws him into the corner. He then lands several shoulder barges. He grabs Jamie by the arm and nails a hip toss. A.J. then takes Jamie down with an arm drag takedown. Jamie gets to his feet but clotheslines A.J. down. Jamie then nails a couple chops to the chest. He boots him in the gut and nails a snap suplex. He floats over into a pin for a near fall. Jamie nails another snap suplex and then floats over into a pin once again but yet again receives another near fall. Jamie then picks Styles up and takes him down with a backbreaker. He hooks the leg but AJ kicks out at one. Jamie picks A.J. up once again and puts him in a sleeper hold. A.J. elbows Jamie in the gut several times and runs off the ropes where he nails a flying forearm to his face. He goes for the pin but Knoble kicks out. Styles nails a couple of forearms to his face. He whips him into the ropes but Jamie jumps up onto the ropes but misses a cross body block. A.J. runs off the ropes and lands a bulldog. He goes for the pin but Jamie kicks out at two. A.J. whips Jamie into the corner and then sets him on the top turnbuckle. A.J. climbs up and goes for a hurricanrana but Jamie counters into a powerbomb. Jamie then signals to the crowd that he's going to put A.J. away. He picks Styles up and nails a powerbomb. Both men are down. Jamie floats over into the pin but gets a one count. Knoble looks to the referee and begins arguing with him. He turns, kicks A.J. in the gut and then begins pounding on him in the corner. Jamie charges at him but A.J. backdrops him. Jamie however finds his balance on the top turnbuckle but straddles himself. Styles climbs the top rope and goes for the backbody drop but Jamie floats over into a flying bodypress from the top turnbuckle. He hooks the leg and the referee counts: one…two…three!
Winner: Jamie Knoble via pinfall in 10:56.
Schiavone, “That was a tremendous match between two of our spectacular cruiserweights who will be participating in the X-Division, which is exclusive to the NWA. I look forward to seeing a lot more of this high flying action on future episodes of Xplosion. Enough talk of the X-Division though, because Brain, coming up next is the first of our two matches in the Heavyweight title tournament. With that, let’s send it back to Goldylocks, who is with Jerry Lynn.”

Our attention is turned to the back where Goldylocks is standing with Jerry Lynn. Goldylocks, “Jerry Lynn, we are just moments away from your first round match with Ken Shamrock. Ken Shamrock is known as the “Worlds Most Dangerous Man” that combined with the fact that we just saw Ted Diebiase leave his dressing room do you think that you will be able to advance here tonight?” Lynn, “First of all Goldylocks, I don’t give a damn who Ken Shamrock may be conspiring with here tonight. The fact of the matter is that Ken Shamrock may be the “Worlds Most Dangerous Man”, but I am the “New F’n Show” and I am not afraid of Shamrock. As a matter of fact, I look forward to the challenge. Sixteen men will be getting the chance to become the NWA Heavyweight Champion, and tonight I take the first step climbing this steep mountain. Now, unless you have anymore questions, I have to get to the ring.” With that, Jerry Lynn walks off with a very determined look on his face.

The camera then switches to a view of Jeremy Borash standing with Ken Shamrock. Borash, “Ken Shamrock, we just heard some comments from your opponent tonight. What do you have to say about your upcoming match with Jerry Lynn?” Shamrock, “Borash, I couldn’t give a crap about what that punk Jerry Lynn thinks. Tonight, I am in my zone, and Jerry Lynn would be well advised to stay the hell out of my way.” Borash, “What about your relationship with the Million Dollar Ma? Why was he in your dressing room early?” Shamrock, “My relationship with Ted is none of your business. Now get the hell out of my way, because I have to go break Jerry Lynn’s ankle.” Shamrock heads towards the ring as Borash is left standing backstage with a frightened look on his face.

NWA Heavyweight Title Tournament First Round Match
Ken Shamrock
vs.
Jerry Lynn
The music hits as Jerry Lynn makes his way to the ring in his customary red tights. He high-fives the crowd and then enters ring and poses. The crowd gives Jerry a big face pop. Ken Shamrock’s music is then queued on the p.a. system as he makes his way down the ramp. Shamrock is in his blue tights and the crowd gives him a mixed reaction. Shamrock enters the ring and the referee rings the bell to start the match. They start up with a collar and elbow tie up. Shamrock overpowers Lynn and throws him down to the mat. Lynn springs right back up and charges at Shamrock, delivering several forearms to the face of the “Worlds Most Dangerous Man”. Shamrock is shaken up a bit as Lynn bounces off of the ropes and hits Shamrock with a high elevation dropkick, knocking Ken off of his feet and to the outside of the ring. Shamrock has a very upset look on his face as he kicks over the ringside steps. Lynn then delivers a baseball slide to Shamrock on the outside, catching Ken off guard. Shamrock gets back to his feet and enters the ring. Lynn goes for an irish whip but Shamrock reverses it. He lowers his head but Lynn comes back off of the ropes and catches Shamrock with a stiff kick to the face. He then goes off of the ropes again but this time Shamrock catches him and hits a thunderous overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Shamrock hits two kicks to Lynn’s ribs and then one to his head. Ken picks him up off of the mat and whips him into the corner. He charges at him at hits a big clothesline that has a serious impact on Lynn. He then picks Lynn up and puts him down on the top turnbuckle. Ken climbs up to the top rope in attempt to hit a hurricanranna, but Lynn connects with several right hands to his face. The right hands knock Shamrock off of the top rope and down to the canvas. Lynn then jumps off of the top rope and nails Shamrock with a big moonsault. He hooks his leg but Shamrock kicks out after two. Lynn follows up with a running leg drop. He goes for another cover but again Shamrock kicks out after two. As Lynn gets off of Shamrock, the crowd begins to boo loudly. The “Million Dollar Man” Ted Diebiase is coming down the aisle. Diebiese catches the attention of Jerry Lynn, which allows Shamrock to grab him from behind and hit a big german suplex. He bridges into the pin as the referee counts: one, two, thr . . . Lynn gets the shoulder up. Shamrock picks Lynn up by his hair and then drives him right back down to the mat a monstrous clothesline. Diebiase is on the outside cheering on “The Worlds Most Dangerous Man” but he has not gotten involved in the action. Shamrock hits a big belly-to-belly suplex. Shamrock then lets out a loud yell to signal that he is in his zone. He reaches down to grab Lynn’s ankle but Jerry kicks Shamrock in the stomach. Then he hits another kick and then a third kick, which breaks Shamrock’s grip on his ankle. Shamrock charges at Lynn but Lynn connects with a dropkick to the stomach. With Shamrock bent over in pain, Lynn sets him up for the cradle piledriver. Lynn then hits the piledriver as the fans are going nuts. He goes for the cover but Diebiase jumps up onto the ring apron and distracts the referee. Lynn is making the cover but the ref is not counting. He has Shamrock down for a ten count, but it does not matter. Lynn gets off of Shamrock and goes towards Diebiase. Lynn grabs Ted by the collar but is tripped up from behind by Shamrock. Shamrock locks in the ankle lock submission hold as Jerry writhes in pain. Lynn inches towards the ropes and reaches out for the bottom rope, but right before he can grab it Shamrock pulls him back to the center of the ring and clinches in the hold even tighter. Lynn has no choice but to tap out.
Winner: Ken Shamrock w/Ted Diebiase via submission in 12:57.
Diebiase enters the ring and raises Ken Shamrock’s hand. Schiavone, “I can’t believe what we are seeing here. Ken Shamrock has aligned himself with that sorry bastard Ted Diebiase. Now he will advance into the round of eight of the NWA Heavyweight Title tournament.” Heenan, “Schiavone, you need to calm down. You can’t blame Shamrock, I mean, it seems to me as if his alliance with the “Million Dollar Man” has paid off thus far.” Schiavone, “Well Brain, it has paid off so far. But fans don’t go anywhere, because coming up next will be the fatal fourway match for the NWA Tag Team titles involving the Dudleyz, Kronik, Rosie and Jamal, and a mystery team!”

On the big screen we see Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley talking in the locker room. Bubba Ray, “D-Von, we have been the WWE, WCW, and ECW Tag Team champions, but tonight we have a chance to win the NWA belts, which are more important than those other three combined. Tonight, we show the world why we are the greatest tag team in the history of this industry. We have a reservation for a table of six, and that table is for Kronik, Rosie and Jamal, and this mystery team. Let’s get out there and kick some ass!” D-Von, “TESTIFY!” The Dudleyz leave the dressing room as Xplosion goes to commercial.

(Commercial Break)

[9:15-9:30]

As Xplosion returns from the break, we see Goldylocks in the locker room with Ken Shamrock and Ted Diebiase. Goldylocks, “Ken Shamrock, first of all I would like to congratulate you on your victory moments ago over Jerry Lynn. You have become the first man to advance in the Heavyweight Title tournament, but I have to ask you, why have you associated yourself with Ted Diebiase?” Shamrock looks very unhappy over this question, but Diebiase grabs the microphone from Goldylocks. Diebiase, “Why? Why has Ken Shamrock associated himself with such a great wrestling mind like me? Well, I will tell you why Goldylocks, in fact, it is pretty simple. You see, Ken Shamrock has an ultimate goal in this promotion, and that goal is to become to the NWA Champion at Greed. I have always said that everybody has a price, and Ken’s price is that title, a title that he can obtain with my services. You saw what happened out their, didn’t you Goldylocks? Well, with the “Million Dollar Man” in his corner, my friend Ken over here will doing a lot more winning in this tournament. HAHAHAHAHA!”

NWA Tag Team Title Match
The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von) vs. Kronik (Brain Adams and Brian Clarke) vs. Rosie and Jamal vs. ???????

The three teams are all in the ring as we come back from the commercial break. All six men are looking intently at the entrance way waiting to find out who the mystery team is. Suddenly as wolf howl is heard over the p.a. system and the fans explode with cheers. The arena is going absolutely nuts as The Outsiders, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, make their way into the arena accompanied by their buddy Syxx. Schiavone, “It’s the Outsiders! The Outsiders are the mystery team and the fans are on their feet.” Heenan, “Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are one of the most dangerous tag teams in the history of professional wrestling Schiavone. And to top it all off, they have Syxx in their corner.” They play to the crowd as they make their way to the ring, but Brian Adams and Rosie do not look impressed by the Wolfpac as they jump out of the ring and charge at Hall and Nash. The referee rings the bell and all eight men immediately go at it. D-Von knocks Jamal out of the ring as Nash takes Brian Clarke out. Jamal is disposed of by Bubba and Hall dismisses Brian Adams from the ring. Then the Outsiders take out the Dudleyz and then they pose in the ring. The referee finally gets some order and Brian Adam and Bubba Ray start out the match. Bubba and Adams tie each other up in a test of strength, which is won Adams. Bubba runs off of the ropes and delivers a shoulder block to Adams, but neither man budges. Adams then runs off the ropes at Bubba and as he does so Rosie makes a blind tag into the match. Adams delivers a shoulder block to Bubba but once again neither man moves. Out of nowhere Rosie hits a clothesline to the back of Bubba’s head. Rosie immediately follows it up with an elbow drop, but Bubba moves out of the way and Rosie finds the canvas. Bubba delivers several stiff right hands to the face of Rosie before making the tag to his partner D-Von. D-Von comes into the ring and takes down the big three-hundred and thirty pound Rosie with a clothesline. He goes for the cover but Jamal breaks up the count. While the ref is restraining Jamal, Brian Clarke illegally enters the ring and delivers a spinebuster to D-Von. Rosie tags in Jamal and they then double team D-Von for the next five seconds before the referee kicks Rosie out of the ring. He whips D-Von into Kronik’s corner and follows it up with a big avalanche. Rosie then tags in Brian Adams who stomps away at D-Von. Adams works over D-Von for several minutes until hits a swinging neckbreaker. Both Adams and D-Von crawl towards their respective corners. Adams makes the tag to Clarke first and the D-Von makes the hot tag to Bubba Ray. Bubba comes in and takes down Clarke, and then Adams runs into the run, only to be met by a bionic elbow from Bubba Ray. Bubba then scoop slams Clarke and D-Von jumps off of the top rope to deliver the Wazzup. Bubba then shoves D-Von and tells him to get the tables. D-Von goes outside and sets up a table. He grabs another one from under the ring but before he can reenter the ring, Jamal throws him into the ring post. Bubba looks on with concern, but when he turns around Kronik is waiting for him and delivers the High Times double chokeslam. The referee counts: one . . . two . . . three!

Eliminated: The Dudley Boyz via pinfall in 5:34

Kronik is celebrating as Scott Hall makes his first appearance in the match by hitting Clarke with three left hands to the face. Hall sends Clarke into the ropes but Clarke comes back with a big clothesline. Clarke tags in Rosie, who powerslams Hall. Rosie makes the cover but Nash breaks up the referee’s count at two. Rosie tags in Brian Adams, as it is clear that Rosie and Jamal and Kronik are working together to eliminate the Outsiders. Adams hits a full nelson slam on Hall and follows it up with a leg drop. Hall tries to fight back but Rosie comes into the ring to stop that. As the referee is restraining Rosie, Nash comes in and hits a big boot to Adams. Clarke charges at Nash and the two big men fight on the outside. However, Hall gets back to his feet and sees that Adams is feeling the affects of the boot from Nash. Hall then kicks him in the stomach and hits the Outsiders Edge. The fans go crazy as Hall covers and the referee counts: one . . . two . . . three!

Eliminated: Kronik via pinfall in 8:13

Now it is down to the Outsiders and Rosie and Jamal. Jamal is in the ring as Nash tries to intimidate him by stepping over the top rope to enter the ring. Nash and Jamal stare each other down and then Jamal hits Nash with a cheap shot to the face. Nash shakes it off and whips Jamal into the ropes but Jamal reverses it. Nash shoots back off of the ropes and hits him with a back elbow followed by a clothesline that takes Jamal off of his feet. Nash then tags in Hall who hits a few of his famous lefts. He goes to the well one to many times and Jamal ducks out of the way of the punch. He spins Hall around and then hits his throwing samoan drop. Jamal then tags in Rosie who delivers a thunderous leg drop. He goes for the cover but Hall kicks out after two. Rosie and Jamal dominate Hall for the next few minutes. Rosie then goes up top for the big splash, but Syxx makes his presence felt by pushing him off of the top rope. This allows Hall to make the tag to Nash who decimates Rosie and Jamal. Nash somehow gets Rosie up on his shoulders and he slams him down with the Jackknife powerbomb. Nash makes the cover as Jamal tries to make the save, but Hall knocks him out of the way. The referee counts: one . . . two . . . three!
Winner and NEW NWA Tag Team Champions: The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) w/Syxx via pinfall in 13:34
The crowd is going nuts as the Outsiders are awarded the Tag Team Title belts. Schiavone, “What a match. First we are all shocked to see the Outsiders here in the NWA, and now they are the tag team champions. This is going to be a tough team to defeat here in the NWA.” Heenan, “I cannot believe that these two washed up losers were able to beat a team like Rosie and Jamal. I have a feeling that they won’t be the champs for long Tony.” Schiavone, “I’d have to disagree with you Brain. Fans don’t go anywhere, because we still have Sting going one-on-one with Jeff Jarrett!”

(Commercial Break)

[9:30-9:45]

As Xplosion comes back from the break Commissioner Ric Flair is standing in the center of the ring and he has a microphone in hand. Flair, “First of all, I would like to congratulate the Outsiders on their win moments ago. If you people here in Houston,” the fans go nuts over the mention of their hometown, “and the fans watching at home thought that Hall and Nash were the big surprise that I promised earlier tonight then you are all way off. I promised a big surprise that would impact the title tournament. So, without further ado, the man who will face Curt Henning in a first round match next week on Xplosion, I give you . . .” “IF YOU SMELL, WHAT THE ROCK, IS COOKING . . .” followed by the rest of The Rock’s theme music is heard over the arena as the fans go absolutely bonkers. Everyone one in the arena is on their feet as The Rock makes his way down the ramp. Schiavone, “OH MY GOD, IT’S THE ROCK! THE ROCK IS HERE IN THE NWA!” The Rock enters the ring and poses on the top rope. The fans are still cheering as loud as they can. The Rock stares down Ric Flair, but after a few seconds a smile comes over The Rock’s face as he and The Nature Boy shake hands. Flair hands the microphone over to The Rock and then makes his way towards the back. The crowd is chanting, “ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY!” Rock, “FINALLY, THE ROCK, HAS ARRIVED IN THE NWA!” The crowd gets even louder. Rock, “When The Rock found out that the NWA was making a return and that Ric Flair was going to run the company, The Rock knew that this was exactly where he wanted to be. Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman both made The Rock very generous offers, but The Rock wanted nothing to do with either of two candy asses. Ric Flair called up The Rock and said that there was going to be a sixteen man tournament to crown a new NWA Heavyweight Champion and asked if The Rock wanted to be a part of it. Ric Flair, you damn right that The Rock wants to be in this tournament and win the most historic title belt in the history of this business. Curt Henning, it’s unfortunate for you that you have to face The Rock next week right here on Xplosion because The Rock is going to hold nothing back. Curt, you bring the ass, and The Rock will bring the whoopin’! IF YOU SMEEEEEEEEEEEELL, WHAT THE ROCK, IS . . .” Voice, “Hold on a second there Rock.” Ron Killings makes his way onto the stage with a microphone in hand. The crowd is giving Killings some serious heat. Killings, “Rock, you think that you can just waltz right into to this federation and become the new heavyweight champion? I don’t think so Mr. Loud Mouth. Let me lay the truth on you Rock. I was the last NWA Champion and I was never defeated for that title. That little punk Flair comes in here and just strips me of the title and puts it up for grabs in a tournament. A tournament that yours truly will be involved in. Rock, if you want to become the champ, then you’re going to have to go through me first. There is no way in hell that I am going to let you wear that belt around your . . .” Rock, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! The Rock has stood here for past few minutes and listened to you run your grubby little mouth and bore these people to tears. The Rock just has one question for you. Who in the blue hell are you?!” Killings, “Nice try Rock. Did you actually think that I was going to fall for that stupid trick like those idiots used to do back in the old WWE? I’m to damn smart for that crap Rock, I’m Ron Kill . . .” Rock, “IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS!” The crowd explodes with delight at The Rock’s comments. Rock, “Ron Killings, The Truth, K-Kwick, whatever the hell you’re calling yourself these days, it really doesn’t matter. You see, The Rock is going to win his match with Curt Henning next week, then The Rock is going to beat his next opponent, and then The Rock is going to go to Greed and whoop two candy asses and win the NWA Heavyweight title. If you don’t like that, then you can go suck a monkey’s nipple! IF YOU SMEEEEEEEEELL, WHAT THE ROCK, IS COOKING!” The crowd is still going bananas as The Rock poses once again. Ron Killings is staring down The Rock on the stage and he has a very upset look on his face. The Rock continues to play for the crowd. Schiavone, “Brain, Ric Flair continues to impress me here tonight. First he signs some amazing matches, and now he brings in The Rock.” Heenan, “I’d be lying if I was saying that The Rock is not going to be a valuable commodity to the NWA, but there is no excuse for the way that he treated The Truth.” Schiavone, “That’s debatable Brain, but right now let’s send it back to Jeremy Borash, who is standing by with Sting.”

The camera cuts to the back where Jeremy Borash is standing in front of the NWA logo with Sting. Borash, “Sting, in just a few moments, you will be going one-on-one with Jeff Jarrett in a match that’s outcome will be very significant in the title tournament. What are you thoughts on facing Jarrett and how do you plan on fighting off Henning and Storm, who we all know will be close by?” Sting, “Borash, you’re fight about one thing, and that is that this match will have a very significant impact on the tournament. Everyone thought that Jarrett and myself would be two of the favorites in this thing, and now Flair goes off and puts us against each other in the opening match. Most people would be upset by this, but not me. I am going to go out and tear through Jarrett just like I would any other man on the NWA roster. I am a former NWA Champion, and I plan on wearing that belt again in the near future. As far as Henning and Storm are concerned, I don’t give a damn about those two. If they want to come down and get involved then I have no problem with that. Now, if you’ll excuse me Borash, I go put an arrogant b*tch in his place.” The crowd is going nuts as Sting leaves sight. We then see a split screen that shows Sting on one side and Jarrett along with Lance Storm on the other side, with both men heading towards the ring. Schiavone, “Well fans, we’ve been waiting all night, but now the time has finally arrived. But why the hell is Lance Storm coming out here with Jeff Jarrett? And where the hell is Curt Henning?” Heenan, “You heard Jarrett say early that he had a plan, so lets just sit back and let it all unfold Tony.” Schiavone, Well, I don’t like the sound of that one bit. But fans coming up next, Jeff Jarrett goes one-on-one with Sting!”

Main Event
NWA Heavyweight Title Tournament First Round Match
Sting
vs.
Jeff Jarrett w/Lance Storm

“THE CHOSEN ONE . . .” blasts over the p.a. system followed by the rest of Jeff Jarrett’s theme music. Jarrett makes his way onto the stage in his customary silver and yellow tights. He is also carrying his guitar in his right hand. Lance Storm is walking to the ring beside him. The Compaq center bombards Jarrett and Storm with very loud boos. They enter the ring and taunt the crowd to even more heat. Suddenly the lights go out and Sting’s standard intro music begins to play. A spotlight then shines on the entrance way and Sting is seen wearing his black and white outfit and he has his black baseball bat in his left hand. The crowd is going absolutely crazy as Sting enters the ring. Lance Storm leaves the ring and Sting and Jarrett stare each other down as the referee rings the bell. Jarrett talks trash to Sting but Sting just stares down Jarrett without moving. Suddenly Jeff swings and connects with a right hand to Sting, which staggers the master of the Scorpion Death Lock. Jeff then attempts to hit Sting with another right hand, but Sting blocks it and connects with a right of his own. He follows it up with another right hand to the face of Jarrett. Sting sends Jarrett into the ropes, but Jeff grabs the top rope to stop his momentum and then slides out of the ring under the bottom rope. Jarrett looks very frustrated on the outside of the ring as Lance Storm tries to calm him down. Jarrett stays on the outside of the ring for a minute to collect his thoughts and then he enters the squared circle. Jeff challenges Sting to a test of strength, which Sting accepts. Jarrett and Sting lock one of their hands together, and as they are about to lock their other hands, Jarrett delivers a swift kick to Sting’s abdomen. He follows it up with several right hands and then he runs off of the ropes and comes back with a stiff clothesline, taking Sting off of his feet. Jeff then stomps away at Sting and the taunts the crowd at the same time. The crowd is giving Jarrett some severe heat as he kicks away at their fallen hero. Jarrett picks Sting off of the mat by his hair and then drops him back down to the canvas with a picture perfect vertical suplex. Jarrett does not waste any time so he immediately hooks Sting into a side headlock. Jeff tightens the hold as the referee checks on Sting. Storm is cheering on Jarrett from the outside, taunting Sting in hopes that he will tap or pass out from the pain. Jarrett mocks the crowd while keeping Sting locked into the headlock. The referee lifts Sting’s arm into the air and it drops right back down to the mat. He lifts it again and it once again drops down the mat for a two count. The referee lifts Sting’s arm up one last time and it drops, but Sting lifts it up just before it hits the mat. The crowd is going bananas while Sting begins to build up strength. Sting powers his way back to a vertical base and the delivers and elbow to the midsection of Jarrett. He then hits another elbow, followed by a third one that breaks the hold. Sting sends Jarrett off of the ropes, but Jeff comes right back and hooks the headlock in again. However, this time Sting immediately counters the headlock into a belly-to-back suplex. Both men get back to their feet at the same time. Sting hits Jarrett with a left, which Jarrett follows up with a right hand of his own. They exchange several punches before Jeff sends Sting into the ropes. Sting is about to bounce off of the ropes, but Storm grabs his leg and holds him in a stationary position until Jarrett charges at Sting and connects with a clothesline that sends Sting over the top rope and to the outside. Jarrett then goes on to the ring apron and jumps off with a double axe handle to the back of Sting. Jarrett then goes to whip Sting into the steel steps, but Sting reverses it and it is Jeff that hits the steps. Storm then comes after Sting, but Sting sees it coming and rams Lance’s head into the ring post. Sting rolls Jarrett back into the ring. He sends Jeff into the corner and follows it up with a big Stinger Splash! Sting whips him into the other corner and then hits Jeff with a second Stinger Splash! Sting starts to yell to the crowd and they eat it up. Sting whips Jeff into the opposite corner and goes for a third Stinger Splash, but Jarrett pulls the referee in front of him and Sting nails the ref. Schiavone, “This is not good. We have no referee here.” Jeff comes out of the corner but Sting trips him up and puts him into the Scorpion Death Lock! Jarrett is writhing in pain and TAPS OUT! However, the referee does not see a thing. Storm then jumps into the ring and goes for a super kick, but Sting catches his foot, spins him around, and connects with a clothesline that sends Lance over the top rope and to the floor. Sting is standing tall in the ring when suddenly a man jumps the guardrail. He is wearing a black trench coat and a Sting mask. He also has a black baseball bat. Schiavone, “Who the hell is that?! Some guy in a Sting mask has just jumped the railing and is going into the ring!” Heenan, “It looks like Sting, but how could there be two Stings Tony?” The man enters the ring and he strikes Sting in the back of the head with the baseball bat! The fans are going crazy as the mask man looks down at the fallen Sting before leaving the ring and exiting the arena via the crowd. Schiavone, “OH MY GOD! THAT MAN HAS JUST DESTROYED STING!” The referee begins to come to as Jarrett picks Stings limp body off of the canvas and hits him with All the Stroke. Jarrett makes the cover as the referee counts: one . . . two . . . three!
Winner: Jeff Jarrett w/Lance Storm via pinfall in 14:32.
Schiavone, “Jeff Jarrett has just advanced in the World Title tournament, but he does it with a big, and I mean big, assist from some man dressed like Sting! But fans, the real question is who the hell was that man. Could it have been Henning, who was very conspicuous by his absence? Hopefully we’ll get some answers this Thursday on Thriller.”
