Fantasy Wrestling AllianceStory By: John Sivewright October 27, 2002 This past week, RFI's sister group, the FWA took the world of fantasy wrestling by storm. We would like to thank all the readers that took there time to read the great shows, brought up by the outstanding set of writters of the FWA. The FWA does need your help, the FWA NWA assistant booker, was injured this past week and because of that his writting has been affected and has decided to step away from writting. He will be missed and we wish him a speedy recovery. But the NWA is in need of a Assistant writter that will be willing to write a 2 hour, thursday show. If you think you got what it takes read on! To be a writer, you should meet the following criteria: 1) You should be reliable. A fantasy wrestling writer should be able to write at least 1 show per week and 1 show is roughly 8 sides of A4 in Times New Roman, Font Size 12. You should be able to meet deadlines, too. 2) You should be easy to get along with. You will be working as a part of a team and if you are of an argumentative and somewhat bitchy nature, don't apply. 3) You should have a good grasp of English. Spelling, grammar and punctuality are key. Remember, people are reading your shows. Make them as easy to read as you can. 4) You should know your holds. You will be writing move-by-move wrestling matches. You need to know the names of a lot of wrestling moves to do this well. If you don't know the names, then learn them, NOW!! 5) You should be good at writing dialogue. You will be writing interview dialogue. Therefore an understanding of certain wrestlers favourite quotes and mannerisms is imperative. 6) You must have a good imagination. This is fantasy wrestling, so what are your fantasies (in wrestling terms, by the way)? Let your wrestling fantasies spill onto the page. 7) You must have a love of pro wrestling and knowledge of how matches are put together and how show segments link together. Do you meet the criteria? If so, read on ... FWA are looking for ONE, NWA-TNA writer. We used to call them bookers, but you will do more than just book. You come up with storylines, sure, but you write matches move-for-move, interviews word-for-word and shows segment-by-segment. But its not as tough as it sounds. If you enjoy the sound of it, it'll be dead easy! To apply, email fwajobs@hotmail.com with the subject title: NWA application. The application should have one or two of the following: Matches: You can pit any wrestlers you want against each other in any type of match, you might wanna write at least, 2 matches. Remember you are applying for NWA so keep in mind Its all about the wrestling. Promo: Write at least 2 or 3 promos with any superstar of your choice, once again remember this application is for the NWA so It would be nice to see you work with guys like Jarrett, Edge, Ric Flair, Sting etc. If not, you can work with whoever wrestler you like. If you are selected you will be brought into the FWA team and will be notified through e-mail. Thank you for applying and Good Luck!!
