FWA - WWE Smackdown!Story By: John Sivewright November 15, 2002 WWE Smackdown! Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio Written by: Chris Bacon and Joseph Fagan Commentators: Michael Cole and ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage [7:00 - 7:15] The arena explodes with a pyrotechnic display as the fans raise the roof off of the arena. Michael Cole and Randy Savage welcome us to Smackdown! from ringside. Cole, “Welcome to the Nationwide Arena for Smackdown!...I’m Michael Cole, alongside Randy Savage!” Savage, “Already announced for tonight Rikishi versus Triple H, a huge Six-Man Tag Team Match and much more! Oh yeah!” Cole, “We get things off to a quick start with the Guerreros, next.” Tag Team Match Los Guerreros vs Chuck & Billy ‘Latino Heat’ rolls as Eddie Guerrero and his nephew, Chavo, strut to the ring. They pose on the turnbuckles to abuse from the fans. Next Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo arrive a warm welcome. Chuck Palumbo and Eddie Guerrero start off the match-up. They circle the ring, ready to grapple. Chuck moves in but Eddie sidesteps him and they circle the ring again. Finally both men enter a test of strength. Chuck forces Eddie to his knees but is kicked in the midsection. Latino Heat clubs Palumbo around the head and takes the fight to a turnbuckle. Eddie heads for the 10 Punch, by nine he gives the fans the ‘up yours’ gesture and rakes the eyes of Chuck. Guerrero then hops onto the apron and looks for a Guillotine but Chuck Palumbo breaks free of his hold and heaves Eddie into the air, over the top rope and throws him back into the ring! Cole, “Look at the strength of Chuck Palumbo!” Chuck fires some right hands before whipping Guerrero off of the ropes only to be caught with a Flying Forearm! Latino Heat focuses on the right knee of Chuck Palumbo. He lands an Elbow Drop to it again and again and again! Eddie then stomps on the joint before hitting yet another Elbow Drop to the knee. Chuck screams in pain as Eddie applies some pressure to the right knee. Cole, “Eddie Guerrero is focusing the attack on that right knee!” Billy Gunn is leaning into the ring but Chuck is just too far out of reach to make a tag. Eddie’s hold flows into a Figure-4 Leg Lock! Cole, “Figure-4! Figure-4! That’s got to hurt!” Chuck manages to take hold of a rope and Latino Heat breaks up the submission hold. Chuck struggles to his feet and Eddie Guerrero runs at him. Out of nowhere comes the Super Kick and both men fall to the ground! Chuck’s right knee is in even more pain after being forced to use a kick! Guerrero is down after being booted in the jaw! Both men crawl to their corners and make the tag. Cole, “Chavo gets the tag! Billy Gunn gets the tag! All hell is breaking loose!” Billy ducks a Clothesline from Chavo and spins the cruiserweight into a barrage of right hands. Chavo falls but gets nailed again, he falls but gets nailed again. This pattern continues until Billy delivers a Scoop Slam for the one...two...kick out! Eddie takes up his position as Chuck struggles to stand on the apron. Billy runs off of the ropes for a Fame-Ass-Er but Chavo takes a step back and rolls up Gunn for the near fall. Chavo stomps on Billy violently but he is dropped onto the ropes with a Flapjack! Billy pummels the Guerrero into a corner before running at him with a Body Splash! Gunn then heads for the One and Only but Chavo counters with the Snapmare! The Guerrero hits the ropes and delivers a Spinning Wheel Kick before setting up the DDT! Gunn counters with a Northern Lights Suplex, bridging it for the one...two...thre- Chavo powers out of the hold into the Piledriver position. Billy counters with a Back Body Drop and makes the tag to Chuck Palumbo! Cole, “Chuck Palumbo just got tagged in but his leg can’t be 100% mobile.” Chuck enters the ring and beats Chavo’s skull against a turnbuckle. He then whips the cruiserweight into an Arm Drag. Palumbo goes for a Body Press Slam! He has Chavo in mid air but Eddie runs into the ring, Drop Kicks the injured knee of Chuck and rolls back to his corner. Chuck falls backwards and Chavo lands on top of him for a Lateral Press! One...two...thre- shoulder up! Savage, “Chuck isn’t doing much better in the ring than Billy Gunn.” Chavo makes the tag to Eddie and heads to the top rope. Eddie places Chuck in the Electric Chair! Off of the top rope comes Chavo with a Flying Clothesline! Billy enters the ring but is tackled by Chavo with a Spear! The cruiserweight then heads to ringside to retrieve a steel chair. The referee gets in the face of Chavo and they enter a tug of war with the chair. Meanwhile Eddie capitalises on the distraction to take a steel chair of his own. Cole, “Chavo is doing nothing more than distract the referee! Eddie is armed and dangerous!” Latino Heat blasts both Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo with the steel chair. Billy receives a shot across the cranium, forcing him to collapse. Chuck has the chair knifed into his gut and then brought down on his back. Eddie throws the chair to ringside as Chavo returns to the squared circle with the referee. Chavo holds down Billy Gunn as Eddie Guerrero crushes him with a Frog Splash all the way from the top rope! Cole, “Billy Gunn has just been destroyed!” Chavo Guerrero throws Billy out of the ring and turns his attention to Chuck Palumbo. He beats down the limping competitor and holds him in place with a Leg Lock as Eddie Guerrero simultaneously delivers the Frog Splash! Savage, “The Guerreros are showing no mercy!” Chavo doesn’t break the hold and Eddie delivers another high-flying Frog Splash! Cole, “Not again?! Chuck Palumbo must be dead by now, for crying out loud!” Finally Chavo lets go of Chuck as Eddie hooks the leg for the one...two...three! Winners:Eddie and Chavo Guerrero by pin fall in 9:53 Cole, “The Guerreros are sending a message to Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman and poor defenceless Torrie!” Savage, “You don’t cross the Guerreros, not once, because if you do you’ll pay for it for the rest of your natural life!” Cole, “You become both physically and emotionally crippled. Look at Torrie, look at Chuck and Billy! The Guerreros are sick!” Eddie and Chavo celebrate in the ring as the referee holds their arms in the air triumphantly. Suddenly, from the crowd come both Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman! They knock down the Guerreros from behind and take it to them with right hands! Cole, “It’s Billy Kidman!” Savage, “And Rey Mysterio is with him!” Chavo and Eddie fall to ringside and begin to crawl up the ramp but Billy and Rey follow on closely, stomping down their enemies. Chavo and Eddie head backstage with their assailants in hot pursuit. The fistfight is taken all the way to the parking lot where the Guerreros enter a limo yelling at the driver. Billy Kidman and Rey run after the limo as it speeds up. However the vehicle escapes leaving Kidman and Mysterio alone in the garage. Cole, “Did you see that!” Savage, “Kidman and Mysterio forced the Guerreros to flee from the arena!” Cole, “The Guerreros destroyed Billy and Chuck in the ring but it was Rey Rey and Billy Kidman that got the upper-hand.” Kevin Kelly is standing by backstage with one of the WWE's highly talented developmental wrestlers, Jodie Fleisch. Kelly, “I’m Kevin Kelly alongside the man that tonight faces Tajiri, Jody ‘the Phoenix’ Fleisch. Jody, welcome to the WWE and congratulations on achieving the honour of competing for the Cruiserweight Title.” Fleisch, “It’s great to finally have made it to World Wrestling Entertainment. This has been my dream since I was a boy in England and now, after years of training and developing my skills, I’ve made my dream come true.” Kelly, “You’re facing a veteran of the ring and you are new to the WWE. That doesn’t appear to work in your favour.” Jody, “I’m new to the WWE, I’m young but don’t underestimate me. I’ve wrestled since I was sixteen and let’s just say that I’ve learned a few tricks on the way.” Kelly, “It’ll be Tajiri versus Jody Fleisch after this commercial break.” * commercial break * [7:15 - 7:30] Cruiserweight Title Jody Fleisch vs Tajiri (c) Jody Fleisch makes his way to the ring followed by Tajiri. Jody catches Tajiri’s leg and spins him around into a Spinning Heel Kick! Fleisch then rebounds off of a turnbuckle with a Flying Clothesline! Tajiri rolls out of the ring for a breather. Fleisch then delivers a Plancha in which he soars through the air and dives onto the Buzzsaw! Cole, “Did you see that? Jody Fleisch dives through the air, over the top rope and takes down the reigning Cruiserweight Champion!” Jody struggles to his feet and runs off of the steps with a Senton Splash to the Japanese Buzzsaw. Tajiri then heads for the Kick of Death but Jody ducks and rolls up the champion from behind for the near fall. Jody Fleisch then goes to the top rope and delivers a Flipping Neck Breaker! Cole, “What an amazing manoeuvre!” Savage, “Would you stop making Jody Fleisch out to be something he’s not. He’s just another wannabe that does his hair like Gareth Gates or whatever that jackass is called.” Jody drags Tajiri to a corner and sets up a Superplex. The Cruiserweight Champion counters with a right hand and then locks Fleisch in the Tarantula. The hold is broken after a count from the referee and Tajiri whips Fleisch into the opposite turnbuckle. The Japanese Buzzsaw runs at Jody Fleisch but he receives a kick to the face, followed up with a Hurricanranna! One...two...thre- shoulder up! Cole, “That could have been all over there but Tajiri won’t let the Cruiserweight Championship slip out of his grasp.” Jody Fleisch looks for the Phoenix DDT but Tajiri counters with a thunderous Spine Buster. One...two...thre- kick out! Cole, “Just when you think this match-up is over someone gets a kick out.” Tajiri whips Jody off of the ropes, looks for a right hand but the challenger ducks and Drop Kicks Tajiri into the turnbuckle from behind. Fleisch follows it up with a one...two...thre- kick out! Tajiri rolls onto his feet as Jody runs right into a Sunset Flip for the near fall. Savage, “Where the hell did that come from?” Both men get to their feet and run at each other. Fleisch hits the Arm Drag and applies an Arm Lock but Tajiri slowly works his way onto his feet and catches the challenger with a heel kick to the chin. Cole, “These men just don’t give up!” Jody Fleisch looks for a Clothesline but Tajiri ducks it and blinds Fleisch with the Mist! Cole, “The Mist! The Mist! Steve Corino and John Cena follow him to the ring. Test and Steve Corino start off the match. Cole, “This could act as a preview of things to come at Survivor Series.” Savage, “Test and Christian take on the Tag Champs and Booker T and Jericho are on opposite sides of the main event.” Corino opens up with some knife-edged chops but Test pushes him off of his feet. The seven-footer then takes it to Corino, pummelling him into a corner and scoring a Clothesline. Test then gets a kick to the midsection before hitting a Knee Lift. Cena returns to his corner as Corino places Christian in a wrist-lock. The lock is maintained as Corino hits a Back Drop Suplex. Cole, “Steve Corino is technically sound inside the squared circle. There are few people that actually live up to the general of the ring reputation. Corino is one of them.” Christian struggles to his feet but is nailed from behind. The King of Old School then uses the ropes as a springboard to roll up Christian with a Sunset Flip for the one...two...thre- kick out! He knows that to overcome a man like Test you have to take them off their feet.” Savage, “It also means that Steve Corino can avoid the Big Boot.” Corino runs off of the ropes for a Clothesline but Test ducks and from behind delivers a thunderous Full Nelson Slam! Cole, “Can you hear the impact?” Test covers Corino for the one...two...thre-shoulder up! The big man then looks for the Pump Handle Slam but Corino struggles to his feet and hits Test with a German Suplex, bridging it for the two count. Both Corino and Christian tumble over the top rope and land at ringside. In the ring Jericho and Booker both make a recovery. John Cena tries to enter the ring to assist Booker but the referee holds him back. Test capitalises on the distraction by throwing Jericho Cena’s Tag Title belt. Booker T gets to his feet but the Living Legend drives the solid gold title belt into his skull and disposes of the evidence. Jericho grabs the ref’s attention and covers Booker for the one...two...thre- KICK OUT! Cole, “It could have been cheap end to the match-up there but somehow Booker T kicked out. Then together, Test, Christian and the man that is going to Survivor Series to compete on a World Title level unite in raising their arms victoriously. Cole, “Test, Christian and Chris Jericho are standing tall and I firmly believe that given their dominance during the week that they are a coalition, an alliance like no other. These men are once again a fully-functional unit and these men are once again on top of World Wrestling Entertainment!” A video sequence similar to the one that appeared on RAW begins to roll with the words “Fear the flames, fear the fire...fear the DRAGON” appearing. The image of a bar appears on our screens. Sitting on a stool indulging himself with a beer is WWE superstar, Bradshaw. The Big Texan slurps some of his drink before being approached by a bartender. Bartender, “Excuse me, sir, but we have a phone call for you.” Bradshaw, “Phone call?” He takes a telephone from the bartender and tries to reach the caller. Bradshaw, “Hello...is anyone there?” Out of nowhere from behind comes Ron Simmons! He nails Bradshaw, throwing him to the ground and stomping into the heart of the former Acolyte. Simmons then lifts up the Big Texan and beats his head against the counter. Bradshaw responds with an elbow to the gut and breaking a bottle off of his attacker’s head. The fistfight is taken towards a snooker table. Bradshaw looks for a right hand but it is blocked and Simmons responds with a rake to the eyes. Simmons then breaks a snooker cue off of Bradshaw’s skull before knocking him out cold with a Spine Buster through the snooker table! Simmons, “Didn’t you learn anything from your time as my Tag Team partner? Don’t you know a trap when you see one? And before I go, let me just remind you that nobody can be on their guard 24/7. Damn!” Cole, “Ron Simmons set up a trap for Bradshaw in that bar.” Savage, “...‘nobody can be on their guard 24/7’...? Ron Simmons and these attacks don’t give him the upper-hand. They just make the Big Texan angrier and angrier.” Backstage we see Al Snow and Christopher Nowinski having a conversation when William Regal struts up to them, the Intercontinental Championship around his waist. Regal, “Well...well...well, what have we hear? Al Snow the Tough Enough trainer. It’s a shame poor, little Maven didn’t turn out quite as well as you hoped.” Snow, “What’s that supposed to mean?” Regal, “His losing streak to me speaks for itself.” Snow, “Maven happens to have had quite a successful run in the WWE. Don’t forget who it was that eliminated the Undertaker at the Royal Rumble. And Christopher Nowinski has turned out well...well considering the company he's kept.” Regal, “He’s turned out well because of me. I was the one that brought him the WWE and had him sign a contract with Eric Bischoff. You rejected him for a slut and a wannabe. Isn’t that right Christopher? I’m twice the mentor that Al Snow ever was.” Before an answer can be made, Maven arrives. Maven, “This little war of words isn’t going anywhere. Why don’t we settle this in the ring?” Snow, “Yeah, tonight it’s going to be Maven and me teaming up against Christopher Nowinski and the British Bitch.” Regal looks disgusted as Al Snow and Maven leave side by side. Next up we see Chris Benoit geared up to wrestle, his body still bandaged. Cole, “Chris Benoit was put through the RAW announce table but now he’s back to exact revenge on the big man Batista!” * commercial break * [7:45 - 8:00] Chris Benoit vs Batista Cole, “ It was a while ago on RAW that Batista went on a rampage, destroying his opponents for this year’s Survivor Series.” Savage, “Including Chris Benoit.” Cole, “He put Benoit through the announce stable after throwing him off of the arena’s stage.” Savage, “Tonight Benoit returns to professional wrestling in a grudge match with Batista!” The fans are silent but soon break into a chorus of abuse, booing Chris Benoit. ‘Whatever’ by Our Lady Peace rolls over the PA system as the returning Rabid Wolverine heads down the ramp. Next the fans get to their feet for Batista as the monster makes his way to the ring. Cole, “There is Batista. He is built like a rock and is as strong as an ox.” Savage, “He is one tough SOB.” The bell rings and Benoit runs repeatedly into Batista, into repeated right hands. The monster sets up a Suplex but Benoit kicks him in the gut and begins to clobber the big man. Batista erupts with another barrage of punches before whipping Chris Benoit into a Sidewalk Slam for the two count. The demon runs off of the ropes with an Elbow Drop and gets a two count. Batista then picks up the Canadian Crippler and drops his throat on the ropes. Chris Benoit staggers into a long series of Rib Breakers that tear away at his bandages. Cole, “Batista is reinjuring Chris Benoit’s ribs!” The monster heads for a Body Press Slam but Benoit slides onto his feet and begins to deliver a long series of German Suplexes! Batista is hit once, hoisted back into the air, hit with another but this time he gets an elbow and follows it up with a Scoop Slam. The demon stalks Benoit before heading for a Clothesline. The Wolverine counters by tackling Batista into a Crippler Crossface! Cole, “That submission move has brought Benoit his fair share of victories but will it work against Batista?” The demon begins to work his way to his feet but Benoit doesn’t let go. Batista has managed to reverse the Crippler Crossface with a Torture Rack!! Benoit is screaming in pain! Cole, “Could we see an end to this match with the submission?” Benoit somehow counters with a Crucifix roll up for the near fall. The Rabid Wolverine runs off of the ropes but is caught with a Big Boot to the face. The monster then destroys the Crippler with a Tilt a Whirl Slam all the way to the mat. Batista looks for an Irish Whip but he is pulled into a Knee Lift. Benoit hits a Bulldog but rather than hook the leg he goes to the top rope. Batista catches Chris Benoit in mid air with a Body Press Slam! He then sets up a Power Bomb but it is countered with a Back Body Drop! Chris Benoit stomps down the demon before placing him in a Sleeper Hold! Slowly but surely Batista rises to his feet as the Crippler tightens his grip. Batista counters with a thunderous throw all the way to the canvas. Benoit is again exposed to some more Rib Breakers as he screams out in pain. The monster looks for a right hand but Benoit ducks and scores a Back Drop Suplex! The Rabid Wolverine begins to remove the safety padding from a turnbuckle and smashes Batista’s face into the exposed metal clip. He is then elbowed in the gut and taken down with a Scoop Slam. Benoit struggles to his feet as the beast runs at him, right into a Drop Toe Hold. Batista falls over and his skull connects with the exposed metal. Benoit spins Batista into a sharp DDT and climbs the turnbuckle. Cole, “Look out! Benoit’s gonna fly!” The Crippler hits the Swandive Head-butt and hooks the leg. One...Benoit has revenge within his grasp...two...the end is drawing near...thre- kick out! Batista kicks out! The demon gets to his feet as Benoit runs at him with knife-edged chops. Batista somehow connects with a Clothesline. Cole, “Batista is a raging monster!” The raging monster sets Benoit up for a Superplex but he is pushed to the mat and taken out with a Flipping Neck Breaker. Benoit hooks the leg for the finish. One...two...thre- KICK OUT!! The Rabid Wolverine heads ringside and retrieves a steel chair. Cole, “No! Don’t let the match end with a chair shot.” Batista leans over the ropes and takes hold of Benoit but is taken down with a Guillotine. The Canadian brings his chair into the ring and runs at Batista only to be laid out with a Spine Buster!! Savage, “Spine Buster! Is this the end of the road?” Batista then lifts Chris Benoit into the air for a tremendous Power Bomb but he is nailed from behind with the steel chair! It’s Kurt Angle! Kurt Angle! The referee calls for the bell as Angle and Benoit both retreat up the ramp. Winner:Batista by DQ in 12:52 Cole, “Kurt Angle gave the assist to Chris Benoit with that chair shot and saved him from a humiliating defeat with the Power Bomb.” Savage, “Benoit and Angle escape from Batista but that won’t be the case come Survivor Series.” Batista is going mad in the ring as Angle drapes Benoit’s arm over him and helps the Wolverine limp up the ramp. Cole, “Look at Dave Batista. The veins in his head are going to pop!” Batista grabs the referee, Tim White, and begins to fire right hands at him. Tim White is then whipped into a Spine Buster! Mike Chioda heads to the ring to calm down Batista but he is laid out with a Spine Buster as well. Cole, “Batista has exploded!” Savage, “It looks like these officials need all the help they can get.” Cole, “Are you offering to help calm down that beast?” Randy Savage gets up from his seat as officials flood the ring. Sgt Slaughter and Randy Savage are amongst the WWE staff that deal with Batista. Security, referees, backstage officials, Randy Savage, Sgt Slaughter, a couple of police officers and even members of the WWE locker room such as the Rikishi and the American Dragon help escort Batista backstage. Cole, “Randy Savage will rejoin me after the break. But lets just look at some highlights from that match-up. Benoit’s Crossface countered with the Torture Rack and Kurt Angle’s interference...then half of the damn company had to escort him out of the ring. But like Randy said, nothing will stand in the way of these men at Survivor Series.” *commercial break* [8.00-8.15] As we return from the break, the WWE roster has surrounded the ring. Amongst them we see such stars as Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Booker T, William Regal, Batista, Billy Kidman, Tajiri, Steve Corino and John Cena. Then the Smackdown General Manager Stephanie McMahon's music plays and the crowd pop as she walks to the ring wearing one of her suitably revealing suits. She walks down and Angle, American Dragon and Tajiri move aside to let her get to the steps. She stands in the center of the ring with her arms raised in the air soaking up her welcome from the crowd. Cole, "Randy, I have no idea why Stephanie has called these superstars to the ring, but it must be important if everyone is out here like this." Steph, "Thank you! And thank you also to you superstars here on the outside for coming out here at such short notice. Now I am not the one who has requested your presence, so I don't know what this is about myself, but I'll let the person who did ask you out here tell you. Ladies and gentlemen, the man who epitimises Ruthless Agression, the man who changed the course of professional wrestling, the man with wrestling running through his blood, Vi..." Before Stephanie can finish, 'Back In Black' by AC/DC plays and Eric Bischoff walks out onto the stage with The Big Show. Cole, "I don't think this was who Stephanie was talking about somehow." Bischoff, "You called! Look, cut the crap, this better eb important Stephanie, because I was trying to oganise something with some of these superstars before you called them out here." Steph, "Well then Eric, you won't mind me introducing, my father, Vince McMahon!" 'No Chance In Hell' plays and Vince walks to the ring, virtually ignoring Bischoff and Show as he walks down the rampway. Vince takes the microphone from Stephanie and looks around the ringside. Savage, "Well it obviously is important if Vinnie Mac is in the house!" Vince, "Thank you Stephanie. Now I'm sure you all want to carry on with the show, but I need this time to get over the importance of this subject. I have been sitting in Stamford watching Raw and Smackdown every week since the New Beggining, and to be honest, it's not been a pleasurable experience at times. You see, on Monday night I got a rather heated phone call from some represntatives of XPW and NWA after Raw. And why? Well, for one they didn't appreciate the nicknames they were christened with by Chris Jericho at the top of the show. For that matter, neither did I. But throughout the shows recently, there's been all this..'specualtion' over who's leaving the WWE. Well let me tell you now, NO-ONE with half a brain would leave the WWE, because they know they'll regret it! So I say to each and everyone of you WWE superstars, if you are not 100% commited to the WWE, you can do as the slogan says and get the 'F' out!!! From now on, I don't want to hear the initials 'NWA' or 'XPW' uttered around this company, whever it be good or bad things being said. From now on, I don't want to hear the names of Paul Heyamn or Ric Flair mentioned, not even if you are insulting them and proclaiming the WWE...I've had ENOUGH of this defection crap, and it stops RIGHT NOW!!!" We see some of the superstars worriedly nod their heads as Vince looks around. Vince, "Now, Kurt Angle..get up here!" Angle slowly gets onto the apron with a slightly worried look on his face. Vince, "Now Kurt, like I say I was watching Raw on Monday, and I saw you wearing an XPW shirt. I know you wouldn't defect, and I know you were only joking around...but damn it Paul's lawyers weren't happy. I had to apologise..and damn it Vince McMahon doesn't apologise much. So tonight, I'm punishing you to make an example. You dis-obey me and my demands over this, I'll make you pay, and to prove it, tonight Kurt you will go one on one with...The Big Show!" Angle looks horrified at Vince as Show looks on approvingly. No Chance In Hell starts again and the roster start to file back to the locker rooms, apart from Matt Hardy, D-Lo, and Terri and Lita in referee shirts. Cole, "Well after that stern dressing down, we now have a Special Referees match for you." Special Referees Match Matt Hardy vs D-Lo Brown Referees: Lita and Terri Matt and D-Lo square up as the bell is rung. D-Lo and Matt are exchanging heated words as Terri and Lita keep looking at each other. Savage, "Well these two are gonna be on opposite teams at the Survivor Series." Matt swings at D-Lo, but he ducks and starts to punch Matt. Lita tries to stop D-Lo, but Terri grabs her and pulls her away. The two refs start arguing as D-Lo rolls Matt up...one...two..Matt kicks out as Lita goes to pull Terri up. Savage, "Uh-oh, we got a coupla disfunctional referees here." The two refs again argue as Matt is hit with a Superkick. D-Lo whips Matt to the ropes and hits a Tilt a Whirl Slam, but the referees don't see the pin. Lita finally sees it, but pretends not to. D-Lo gets up and gets in Lita's face, but as he does Matt his a knee to the back and a Reverse DDT. Matt then goes to the middle rope for the Legdrop, but D-Lo avoids it and Matt hits hard ass first to the canvas. D-Lo then hits the D-Lo Legdrop and pins. Terri goes down to count, but so does Lita. As Terri counts, Lita distracts her, giving Matt time to kick out. Once again Lita and Terri begin to argue, and as they do D-Lo goes for a Powerbomb, but Hardy hits a Lowblow and goes for the Twist Of Fate. Brown shoves Matt off though, towards the refs. Terri sees Matt shoved towards her, and she dives out of the way as Matt collides with Lita! Matt looks down at his fallen girlfriend as D-Lo spins him around and hits a Sky High for the one...two...only two! Matt staggers around, and D-Lo runs at him, but Matt ducks a Clothesline and hits a Twist Of Fate! Matt poses before covering Brown. Terri is slow to get down for the count, and as she slowly counts someone runs down the aisle. Terri counts.....one......two...Terri stops counting and moves out of the way as Jeff Hardy dives off and hits a Swanton on Matt! D-Lo drops an arm over Matt, and Terri shoots a smile at Jeff before counting..one.two.three! Winner:D-Lo Brown by pinfall in 4:23 Terri raises D-Lo's arm in the air, but Jeff pulls it away and kisses Terri! The two are making out in the middle of the ring! Cole, "Well that's more than Terri was expecting before she walked out here!" Terri, D-Lo and Jeff leave the ring together as Lita rolls into the ring and checks on Matt. [8.15-8.30] Tornado Tag Team Match Al Snow and Maven vs Chris Nowinski and WWE IC Champ William Regal The Harvard Fight Song plays as Harvard Graduate Christopher Nowinski makes his way to the ring. William Regal then walks out to his sinister sounding music, but as he does the Tough Enough duo of Snow and Maven run down the ramp and start to beat the hell out of Regal. The bell rings as Nowinski goes out to help Regal. He and Maven brawl on the rampway as Snow drags Regal towards the ring and throws him back in. Snow whips Regal to the ropes and hits a BackbodyDrop. Regal gets back up holding his back, and Snow hits a Clothesline. As Regal staggers around, Maven goes to the top. Regal shouts at Snow to 'bring it on!', but Snow just tells him to turn around, and when he does Maven hits a Flying Body Press. Snow and Maven then hit a Double Back Drop on Nowinski and a Double Suplex on Regal. Cole, "Student and teacher working as a unit here." Maven Dropkicks Regal, and Snow follows him out as Nowinski slides in behind Maven. Maven turns around in time though, and the two Tough Enough students face up to each other. The two begin to exchange words, but from behind Regal knees Maven in the back. Regal and Nowinski stomp the hell out of Maven, until Snow gets in behind them and crashes their heads together. Snow then throws Nowinski out and follows him to the outside. Savage, "Snow once again going to the outside to inflict some punishment." As Al and Nowinski bralw, Regal pulls Maven up, and cockily slaps the youngster around the face. Regal then puts on an Abdominal Stretch. On the outside, Snow leaps onto the barricade and goes for a Moonsault on Nowinski, but the Harvard Graduate uses his brain and moves out of the way, sending Snow crashing to the hard floor. Regal keeps the hold locked in on Maven as Nowinski slowly crawls back in. For some reason, Nowinski starts to talk to the ref about something. As he does so, it becomes clear he's providing a distraction allowing Regal to pull out some brass knuckles and put them on. Cole, "Damn it the referee is oblivious to this! Turn around!" Regal still has the Abdominal Stretch on, and looks like he's going to hit Maven in the ribs, but as he does Al Snow slides in and crashes a steel chair over his head! Nowinski runs over, and Al Backdrops him outside. Maven gets an arm over Regal, and gets a one...two...THR..NO! Snow quickly picks Regal up and goes for the Snow Plow, but Nowinski grabs him by the hair from the apron. Nowinski hits a knee and looks to Suplex Snow outside, but it's reveresd and Al shoves Chris off into the barricade. Snow then goes to the top rope, and dives out onto him! Cole, "High risk from Snow. This guy can do it all!" Back inside, Maven goes for a DDT, but the IC Champ hits a knee to the gut, and the Regal Cutter! Regal covers...one...two...thre..NO! Cole, "What resiliance from the young kid Maven!" Regal is arguing with the ref, and he shoves him away before grabbing the brass knuckles again. He swings at Maven, but he ducks and rolls Regal up...1...2...only two. Maven runs to the ropes and Clotheslines Regal down. Maven hits an Arm Drag, and another, and then a Dropkick. Savage, "Maven is on Fiiiiire!" Maven then goes to the top rope, and goes for the Flying Body Press and hits it, but Regal rolls through and pins...one...two....three...no, it was only two! Regal then aims with the knux again, but the ref catches him. The ref grabs the knux and takes them away, but as he takes them over to the timekeeper, Regal pulls out a second pair! Cole, "He's got another pair damn it!" Regal aims again, but Al comes in from behind and hits and undetected Lowblow. Regal holds his crown jewels as Maven locks on a Sleeper. Regal begins to fight it, so Maven falls back and hits a Sleeper Drop! Maven pins Regal as Snow knocks down Nowinski...one...two.....THREE!!! Winners:Al Snow and Maven by pinfall in 9:32 Maven's music plays as he and Snow celebrate, with Maven looking shocked. Cole, "HE DID IT! Maven has pinned the Intercontinental Champion, just over a week away from his shot at the Survivor Series at the Garden!" Savage, "I didn't think Maven had a snowball's chance in hell of beating Maven at Survivor Series, but maybe, just maybe he does!" Regal looks on with a horrified look on his face as Maven shouts down that he just beat him 1..2..3! As this goes on in the arena, backstage Kevin Kelly is standing with Matt Hardy and Lita. Kelly, "Well earlier on tonight we saw D-Lo Brown defeat Matt Hardy, in a match refereed by Terri and Lita, and well Matt I'm sure after this you have a few scores to settle come Survivor Series." Matt, "Come Survivor Series? Do you seriously think I'm going to wait until the Survivor Series to get my revenge? After the travesty that went down tonight, I want to let D-Lo Brown, Jeff Hardy and his little bitch Terri know that we are not people you want to mess with. Jeff, D-Lo, watch your backs, because if you are not careful, you may encounter, a rather unexpected, Twist Of Fate!" Lita, "And Terri...you're days are numbered. Nobody, and I mean nobody, messes with Matt Hardy and Lita..." Matt and Lita, "NOBODY!" Matt and Lita walk off as Kurt Angle walks past. Kelly, "Kurt! Moments away from your punishment match with the 7 foot 2 500 pound Big Show. What's your strategy going to be?" Angle, "M y strategy? I'm going to make the Big 'bad' Show tap...tap...tap! Oh it's true...it's DAMN true!" *commercial break* [8.30-8.45] The Big Show vs Kurt Angle 'Weeeellll...Well it's the Big Show!' blasts around the arena and the 7 foot 2, 500 pound, 3 Minute Warning, The Big Show walks out to the ring. He climbs in and gives the crowd his chokeslam sign before 'Medal' hits and Kurt Angle enters the arena. The crowd chant 'You Suck' along with his music as he sets off his fireworks and walks down the ramp. Instead of entering the ring, he goes around to the timekeeper's table and grabs a microphone. Kurt then gets on the apron as his music stops. Angle, "Back up Show, back up. Now, I know how much you want to prove yourself to the world. Prove that you are indeed a Big Nasty Bas...err, Person. But this is not the right way. Can't you see Big Show that Vince McMahon is using you. You shouldn't let him use you like this, you should be yourself and let Eric Bischoff use you instead." As Angle talks, he seems to be making Show angrier. Angle, "So Show, I think it's best all round if I lay down in the middle of the ring and let you get on top of me...no wait...NO, NO SHUT UP!" The crowd are laughing loudly as Angle starts to hit himself in the head. Angle, "What I meant to say was I'm going to let you pin me down onto this mat, and then..wait that's no good either. DAMN IT! Look, you can get your win, and I don't have to risk losing my place in the main event at Survivor Series." Angle throws the mic down, and lays in the middle of the ring. The bell is rung as Show looks around wondering whever to pin Angle or not. Show then shakes his head and hits a huge Legdrop! Kurt gets up holding his throat, and Show hits a kick to the gut that sends Angle flying backwards into the corner. Show whips Angle to the other side, and then Clotheslines him in the corner. The big man hits a Sidewalk Slam, and covers...one...two...Show pulls Angle up. Savage, "Show ain't finished yet!" Cole, "Not by a long shot! I think Big Show wants to destory Angle and take his place at the Survivor Series." Show hits a huge open handed chop to the chest, and another one. Show then whips Angle to the ropes and hits a Big Boot. Show covers...one...two..but changes his mind and again pulls Kurt up. Angle is now begging Show not to hurt him. Show hits a shot to the face which knocks Angle own, but as Show follows in, Kurt ducks another shot and hits a Chop Block, but the big man doesn't go down. Angle tries again, but again Show stays on his feet. Kurt tries another approach and punches the hell out of the 7 footer, but it doesn't seem to faze him. Angle backs off the ropes and goes for a Clothesline, but Show pushes him away. Angle tries again, with the same result. Angle again tries, but this time Show Shoulder Blocks him down. Cole, "What is Angle thinking trying to match power with this monster!?!" Angle goes for it yet again, Show lifts a boot up but Angle catches it and somehow hits an Angle Slam!!! Cole, "Oh my god. An Angle Slam to the Big Show!" Angle then ulls his straps down and goes for the Anklelock. Show is in rare pain, but he manages to push Angle off into the buckles, and then grabs Kurt by the throat! Show locks for the Show Stopper, but Angle hits a low kick and wraps on the Ankle Lock again! Show tries to get to the ropes, but he's too far away. Show then taps out as Angle lets out a huge 'WHOOOOO!!!' Winner:Kurt Angle by submission in 8:13 Angle celebrates as we see Rikishi standing backstage with Lillian Garcia. Garcia, "Rikishi, after what happened on Raw, I understand it was you who made the challenge for tonight's main event." Rikishi, "You damn right it was. Triple H. Hunter Hearst Helmsley. 'The Game'. Whatever you like to call yourself, it really doesn't make a difference to me. You see, tonight, I am going to make up for what happened on Raw. You see, I didn't appreciate getting hit with that sledgehammer of yours. I didn't appreciate not being able to help out Rhyno when you trapped him in that net. Tonight HHH, I am gonna take great pleasure in Backin' Dat Ass Up on you tonight! RAI!" Lloyd, "I am standing backstage with 'The Game' Triple H, and after your action on Raw tonight, I guess you will want to finish the job on Rikishi." HHH, "Well Marc, I was happy to come here and have an easy night. Little did I know how easy. I mean come on, I beat Rikishi in just over 2 minutes on Raw, and then I softened him up for tonight with a little 'hammertime'. Now, I see that he thinks he can take me out tonight. Big man, listen up. If you thought you had it tough on Raw, you ain't seen nothing yet!" Lloyd, "Well considering your actions on Raw again, are you at all worried about Rhyno getting involved." HHH, "Not really seeing as he's not here." Lloyd, "But Hunter, he is. I saw him just a few minutes ago." HHH gets a worried look on his face before walking off. Cole, "There could be trouble awaiting Triple H tonight. Rikishi vs Triple H is next, with Rhyno somewhere in the building." [8.45-9.00] As we wait for Rikishi and Triple H, we see Savage and Cole at the announce desk. Cole, "Well it has been another hectic night here tonight, but it is set to get even more hectic. Next week on Smackdown, Stephanie McMahon has promised a huge night of action, and she has promised to put on the best episode of Smackdown in her reign as General Manager. But we are just over a week away from the first PPV since the 'New Beginning', Survivor Series, live from Madison Square Garden on November 24th. And what a night it will be." Savage, "Damn right Cole. I've been in Survivor Series matches before, and I know how hard they can be to survive. On Sunday, 8 men are gonna have to survive to win the WWE Heavyweight Title. Jericho, Benoit Angle and HHH versus Batista, Rikishi, Rhyno and Booker T elimination rules." Cole, "Not withstanding that, the Intercontinental Championship will be on the line, inside of a steel cage as Maven takes on William Regal, and if he can repeat his efforts from tonight and pin William Regal, he will be the new Intercontinental Champion." Savage, "And Cole, we found out earlier that now Bradshaw and Ron Simmons will go one on one in a New York Streetfight, and Bradshaw, here's a little tip, if you find that structure thing, tie his legs up. Worked for me yeah!" Cole, "The Tag Titles on the line as the champs John Cena and Steve Corino take on Christian and Test. Plus two more huge Survivor Series Rules Matches. The Hardyz as team captains. Matt Hardy, Chris Kanyon, Chris Nowinski and Justin Credible will go up against Jeff Hardy, D-Lo Brown, Billy and Chuck." Savage, "And a cruiserweights Survivor Series match that should blow the roof off of Madison Square Garden. American Dragon captains his team, with the Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri and The Guerreros to take on Spanky, Jody Fleisch, Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman." Cole, "Make sure you don't miss Survivor Series, live from Madison Square Garden on November 24th. It should be one hell of a night." Main Event 'The Game' Triple H vs Rikishi 'The Game' by Motorhead plays and Triple H walks out to the ring. He performs his usual enterance, and spits the water into the crowd before Rikishi's music plays and he walks to the ring. Kish enters the ring, and HHH immediately jumps him with right hands. Triple H tries to whip him across the ring, but Rikishi reverses and hits a Martial Arts Kick. Kish pulls HHH over to a corner and starts to hit lefts and rights to the jaw before backing up and Clotheslining HHH to the outside. As Hunter tries to get up, the big man follows him out and rams him head first into the table. Cole, "This is getting too close for my liking." Rikishi rams HHH in a second time before turning him around and setting him up for the Sitout Spinebuster, but HHH hits a couple of elbows to the head and a low kick to the groin. As Kish holds his groin, HHH goes over to the timekeeper's table and grabs the ring bell. Savage, "Oh no, come on Kish." Cole, "The ref's got to get the ring bell off of HHH." HHH raises the bell in the air, but Rikishi hits a punch to the gut, and whips HHH knees first up and over the steel steps! Rikishi breaks the count before going around the ring and grabbing HHH by the hair, before bouncing him head first off the barricade. Both men get back in, and Rikishi continues to pound HHH in the back. Rikishi goes for a Rikishi Driver, but HHH slides off of Rikishi's shoulder and pushes him shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Helmsley pulls Rikishi up and tries to whip him to the ropes, but Kish reverses and sends HHH into the corner. Savage, "A bad stench for HHH and his huge nose!" Rikishi goes for the Stinkface, but HHH hits a Lowblow and a DDT. HHH then pulls Kish up and goes for a Pedigree, but Rikishi trips him and Slingshots HHH head first into the ring post. Savage, "Oh, right on his big nose!" HHH staggers away from the corner and Kish hits a Superkick, which sends HHH back down onto the bottom turnbuckle. Rikishi quickly pulls up his tights, and delivers a long Stinkface!!! When Rikishi finally gets up, HHH looks like he's going to be sick. Rikishi goes for the Rikishi Driver, but HHH slides off his shoulder and pushes Kish to the ropes, and hits a Knee Smash. HHH then goes for a Clothesline, but Kish ducks and the ref gets knocked down. Kish then goes for another Superkick, but HHH ducks and lands a Lowblow. HHH then goes for the Pedigree, but Rhyno runs in! Cole, "Wait, it's Rhyno!!!" HHH shoves Rikishi down, but Rhyno hits a Gore!
