- Part of the reason why Brock Lesnar has returned and The Undertaker is working next week is because CM Punk won’t be returning anytime soon and WWE needs star power on TV.

Before this past Monday, the plan was for CM Punk to come out on RAW and whine about losing at WrestleMania 29, then walk out of the company in the storylines. This was held off from the post-WrestleMania RAW because officials felt that Punk would get a big reaction from the post-WrestleMania RAW crowd. Another reason it was held off is because Punk wasn’t happy with the verbiage they wanted him to use and didn’t want to come off as a whiner.

A few weeks back, Punk had a big blow up with WWE creative and wanted to give his notice to quit the company. He went and worked it out with top WWE officials. At that time, it was decided that Punk wouldn’t be working live events anymore, just TV and WrestleMania 29.

Between the backstage problems and severely tearing knee ligaments at WrestleMania, Punk was written off TV this past Monday at RAW. Punk will be fine once he rests up and lets his knees heal. Right now there is no set plan for Punk to return but word is that he won’t be back until SummerSlam time.

You know pro wrestling thrived on kayfabe, this kind of reporting killed it.

    • Franklin

Kayfabe is dead, and has been dead ever since people started using the internet. Get with the times or GTFO…

      • Mel Weber

        You’re both right.

      • delrvich

Use the internet to promote kayfabe and upcoming shows, you don’t give away backstage and booking details. You’d think WWE etc never heard the term “spoiler alert”.

        • Franklin

No one forced you to click the link, or read what was on the page, if you didn’t want to know what’s going to happen, you have only yourself to blame.

          • delrvich

            Good luck getting over it.

          • Guest

            Kayfabe…is what’s for dinner!

  • Joe Musolf

I wish he’d leave that shit company. Punk hasn’t done anything worth a fuck since cutting his ‘pipebomb’ promo. I won’t count his 400+ day WWE title run since it was all overshadowed by Cena and most of his storylines were crap, like the love triangle with him, AJ Lee and Daniel Bryan.

It really sucks because WWE essentially made Punk their bitch after he stood up to them by changing what it means to be a main eventer. No one will ever reach where Cena is it seems…

    • ♋•†Γ!plΣb2k1•♋ – WGU

go where? that shit hole TNA?

      • shawnnitro

well, maybe he can go back to another independent promotion; I’m gonna guess working with Colt might be something he would love to do, after all, he will be able to wrestle with his best friend, and have reasonable creative freedom to be what he knows he needs to be.

      • Louisa Baton

It’s better than WWE. I would go to ROH . I dare you to call that names. The people there wrestle like nobody’s business. It’s so interesting that I don’t have to fast forward. I watch it with the commercials and don’t get bored

        • allan mccann

I agree punk should go to roh he’s got nothing left to prove and it would help roh sooo much.

        • http://twitter.com/Zig2K Zig2K

BAck to ROH for 1/3 the money? Are yoiu insane. WWE is the only company that has the cash to pay for his massive ego and backstage heat

      • allan mccann

God i hope not,as much as I don’t like aces and eights I love bully ray and its his fuckin time. Plus why would punk go to a company he mocks all the time….although Joe vs punk 4..

    • Franklin

So Punk had NO good matches during that 400+ run? Not one? Give me a break…

This is why no wrestling company should ever cater strictly to the demands of marks, you can never satisfy the perpetually unhappy or stupid,.

      • Joe Musolf

LOL ok then. He did have good matches but they never mattered since they were always under John Cena’s shadow.

If you enjoy crap that’s your decision. Enjoying modern WWE is basically the equivalent of enjoying Nickelback at this point.

        • Franklin

Then why are you watching if you don’t like what you’re seeing or who’s getting a push?

          • Joe Musolf

Because there are some good things. Well very FEW good things in WWE right now. It’s just ridiculous that they’d put a guy like Cena in the top spot for almost over 8 years..

          • delrvich

Because he’s a fan of pro-wrestling and not just a channel surfer.

      • Joe Musolf

Also WWE’s losing more and more money every year. It’s not that they don’t cater to ‘internet marks’ they don’t cater to anyone but children who will eventually grow tired of the product and move on to something else. If they listened to their fans and let more guys be in the top spot they’d probably be better off.

        • Franklin

If you’re tired of the WWE’s product, then put your money where your mouth is and move on to something else.

          • Joe Musolf

Oh I have! I just occasionally watch to make fun of it. I don’t think I’ve bought any WWE merchandise in a long time..

And when it comes to PPV’s I just stream those. They’re not worth the price at all.

          • allan mccann

You watch wwe to make fun of it? Lol what a tool

        • delrvich

You are free to make choices and voice your opinion and don’t let others who take the same liberty with fast food tell you otherwise.

      • allan mccann

No one agrees with him . punks reign was awesome it was full of just great wrestling matches he even managed to get John cena a match of the year lol, Daniel Bryan and punk was so epic and the crowd was so alive, just true pros, punk faced abouy every great wrestler in wwe at one point throughout his reign they even brought back Jericho and they owned mania.

    • delrvich

Pro wrestling is carny work – the more surprising, the better. WWE isn’t and will never be what it used to be until the elder McMahons and all other PG-era supporters back out and kayfabe and Attitude brought back in.

      • Joe Musolf

You are correct. The storytelling has really went down the toilet the last few years.

    • allan mccann

Lmao punk has been wwe,s top seller for over a year now. And john cena is just for children dude. Cm punk is a true pro wrestler,he’s worked everywhere and trained with greats he’s a great in ring performer and one of the greatest mic guys ever . and though the storyline with aj was lame the matches were epic, true pro wrestling will always beat john cenas crap. There’s a reason they boo a guy who helps dieing kids. He’s a fuckin douche. A phony.and a pathetic excuse for a wrestler offense wise. He seems like a great guy but a real douche in the same time. Turn him heel have him rap. People will still boo him…overshadowed pshhhh

  • allan mccann

People bitch about we and TNA too much. There just trying to appeal to different type of people . TNA is smart too get involved in mma because its where the future is and will help them grow. They are smart to use hogan cause although he’s not a fan on the internet the fact is hogan is money. Wwe is smart to focus on children because it alot more hard to turn a person onto wrestling then it is to get a child into it . not to mention people will buy wwe crap for there kids. And although the wwe has changed a lot. I believe in some way its got a lot better. Promo wise, match wise.but as time goes on everything get done. Just like in any show or franchise. Will star wars ever be like the original …no just support pro wrestling and keep it alive

    • delrvich

      Bravo! Well said.

  • insaner

I bet a lot has to do with Vince’s decision on making him lose the title so that it could be Rock vs. Cena for the championship (as well as his character turning into a whining loser). I’m sure most of us know of a missed opportunity of championship streak vs.wm streak at WM29 between Punk and Undertaker as the main event. It’s sad, I don’t hate Cena, but he doesn’t NEED the title because he can still sell shows.

  • william daley

    he came from ROH
