Backstage News on WWE Not Wanting TNA Talents

Posted by Steve Carrier on Tuesday, November 12th, 2013

As reported earlier, AJ Styles denied online reports that WWE has offered him a contract with the company. According to a report by Raj Giri of, Styles’ claims are true and the company is not interested in signing TNA talent.

Triple H was asked why would he want to sign Styles’ to the company when they already have a handful of their own high flyers. Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe were also deemed as good hands, but the company is looking to develop their own talents at the WWE Performance Center.

Styles, whose contract was originally set to expire next month, is believed to have already signed a new contract with TNA Wrestling.

It pains me that Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy and Sting are still in TNA, but WWE has always been the smartest organization when it comes to who they sign. WWE may not always do the best things with the talent they sign, but most times they are able to create big names. WWE needs to continue to be the sole entity in the sports entertainment industry – doing what’s best for business, and hopefully not just looking at the 6’4″+ bracket only, for their greatest talents…

I’m pretty sure we haven’t seen the last of Angle in WWE. He may come home for a brief period before he retires and you know Vince still probably has eyes on Sting, even if only for a few appearances and a HOF induction.

It is WWE’s loss. TNA has a great locker room. Lots and lots of talent

  • Bobby Seagle

They should sign AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, Kurt Angle, but above all they should sign Sting. They should reach out to him and convince him to sign. Yet another stupid move by WWE if they don’t pursue them. There own talent in NXT is being wasted and mishandled. The only talent I see down there is Bo Dallas anyways. They already ruined Kane and there good for business story line is a joke.

      A. They’ve reached out to Sting MANY times since the closure of WCW. Sting even said in an interview that he has come close to signing with WWE a few times.

B, NXT has quite a few talents. Adrian Neville, Corey Graves,
Kallisto, Leo Kruger, Oliver Grey, Richie Steamboat, Sami Zayn, Xavier Woods, Paige (whose parents and older siblings are also wrestlers), Charlotte (daughter or Ric Flair) and Becky Lynch.
