When the tragic bombings struck Boston, UFC president Dana White promised that he would return to the city to show support and would be writing checks. He’s made good after recently visiting the city that was paralyzed by terror.

“From a guy who’s walked those streets and been there at the finish line so many times, it really freaked me out,” said White to the Boston Globe. “I have a hard time talking about it.”

Besides money from his own account, White was given extra donations by the Fertitta brothers, UFC and FOX.

The first FOX Sports 1 show airs out of the TD Garden in Boston on August 17.
