Former WWE Official Talks About “The Sad Story Of Ryback,” His Backstage Heat & More

Posted by Phil Johnson on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

Former WWE Official Wes Adams, has published a new column at Adams goes in-depth and talks about “the sad story of Ryback,” how WWE destroyed their organically grown superstar that they’ve been waiting for, and why he may have backstage heat. Here is an excerpt from his article:

“The WWE’s organically grown superstar that they’ve been waiting for all this time was destroyed forever in a matter of months. As soon as Cena threw him out of the Royal Rumble, everyone was told that this guy wasn’t as good as Cena. Then Ryback is thrown into a feud with Mark Henry. Great idea, and the weightlifting challenge segments were fun to watch. But Ryback lost any chance of getting his momentum back when he dropped Mark Henry and lost at WrestleMania 29. So from there, WWE is panicking and don’t know what to do with him. They turn him heel. Start a ridiculous crybaby gimmick that is so terrible that people are calling him Cryback. Then they start turning him in to a bully, obviously influenced by the Impact Wrestling character Bully Ray.”

“They try to make him a Paul Heyman guy, but only after a few weeks, that is stopped and he is being phased out of TV because “he has backstage heat”. Why does he have backstage heat? Well I sure as hell don’t know but from what I have read, WWE feels he has a negative backstage attitude. Well holy tap dancing shit WHY SHOULDN’T HE HAVE A BAD ATTITUDE??? From what I’ve read, he has been a wrestling fan his whole life. He has spent over 7 years in the WWE system. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that he understands the business. He understands how booking works and he understands the difference between good booking and bad booking. He has probably been told for 7 of those 7 years in the WWE system that they are going to make him a superstar, a millionaire, a world champion and lord knows what other kinds of promises he’s been told. And due to the WWE’s bad booking of him and his character, why wouldn’t he be upset? If WWE would had some patience and stretched out his feud with the Miz and put him into the WWE title picture AFTER the Rock and Cena were through, maybe things would have been way better. Or, if the WWE would have struck while the iron was hot and put him OVER CM Punk for the title at WrestleMania after winning the Royal Rumble, maybe things would be better.”

I’m not a fan of his but he’s a good example of them f’ing up something up THEMSELVES as opposed tot he talent’s fault. WWE has NO IDEA what they’re doing. Look at him and Henry at Mania. They put Henry over and then put ryback in the title hunt right after… How does THAT make any sense. Guy loses at mania and the next ppv he;s fighting for the title? Why wasn’t Henry next to face Cena…it SHOULD have been ryback yes, but how does he lose then be the no 1 contender? Makes NO SENSE… WWE stands for world’s worst entertainment.

henry was working on injury. and since when does it ever make sense, the rock wrestled 3 matches in 10 years and he was number 1 contender csuse he said he was lol and beat the guy who beat everyone includin cena the guy who beat rock, and rock ends punks reign in a 15 min worked match…

WWE knows what they’re doing… Ryback is EXTREMELY dangerous in the ring. He really IS a meathead. He almost injured Daniel Bryan a few months back before a PPV, causing Triple H to scream at him. The guy is as much of a fuckup as Sin Cara is. Ryback is totally on his way out of the company, and hopefully for good. The Cornfed Colossus needs to go. TNA might be good for him. He could injure some idiots over there. Now if you were talking about Dolph Ziggler – then YES – WWE TOTALLY dropped the ball there!

The problem is the guys is wrestling frustrated, he isn’t thinking straight, a couple of years ago Orton was wrestling the same way, even Batista and who can forget how many guys Khali put in a hospital until he really started to understand how to control himself. But if WWE doesn’t even try to work with and just make you work on your own then what can you do, also Bryan isn’t really Mr. Safety in the ring either, most times he takes unnecessary risks to get a quick crown pop, we can’t put all the blame on Ryback since there is always another person in that ring.

OH and WWE has no idea what they are doing, Roman Reigns has stepped up proving he can start to do solo work, but for some reason WWE still wants him to carry the other two idiots around, Bryan….well I won’t even start on him, Ziggler sadly isn’t another Cena lover so that’s why he get’s benched on every opportunity, so NO they rather keep working with the same guy, WHO NO ONE LIKES, simply because he has a pretty face (because even his acting is bad), than a real working wrestler (mind you I said Wrestler and not superstar) like Ziggler, Bryan, hell even R-Truth has more wrestling capacity in his pinky nail and Cena in his entire body.

ya dude khali never learned to control shit hes still feared as hell by every wrestler they hate wrestling him his chop to the head is a career ender

          • Ernie Marin

true, but at least they know how to deal with him now

          • Negatist

LOL… Fear the chop! I heard he killed someone in the ring awhile back before his WWE days.

        • Negatist

Daniel Bryan for awhile as US champ was beginning to look like that next generation Chris Benoit. Obviously we ALL know he’s FAR better than that, and it’s just a matter of time before Bryan not only wins the WWE title, but sustains his spot as face of the company for a long, long time. That is IF all this garbage work crap that HHH has going on IS just that – a work – for Vince to step in and turn it all around!

ryback sucks im glad the big guy as he calls himself failed, i always thought that feed me more shit was stupid too. its funny how the guy goes from winning 2v1 matches but cant win a tag match against the usos he even got finishered by jimmy and pinned

It’s amazing how many expert there are on the business that read these dirt sheets and reply their expert opinions.

    • Negatist

Experts? Oh, you’re talking about clowns… Mr. Atari cartridge profile pic… Who are you referring to as “experts”…?

  • Fast Eddie

He was so over with the crowd with the Feed Me More gimmick, WWE droped the ball.

Why does this story keep popping up?
