The Wrestling Babe: Interview with WCWA's Troy Miller
Date Added: December 06, 2005
Story By: L. Anne Carrington

Troy Miller is the current Triple Threat Champion of World Championship Wrestling of America (WCWA), as the Million Dollar Champion, Indiana Cruiserweight Champion and the WCWA Cruiserweight Champion. He has also appeared in other promotions He is also one half of the tag team TNT.

Earlier this week, Miller was interviewed by The Wrestling Babe Anne Carrington, talking about his career and other areas in the wrestling field.

1. What have been your most memorable moments in the business in general?

Just meeting great people. Have made really awesome friends along the way.

2.. What do you think of the current state of professional wrestling?

It's basically a monopoly right now. I do like the direction TNA has taken though.

3. What promotions have you worked for previously? Which have been your favorites and why?

Really, just a lot of indys. I did work some with the NWA mid-west shows a few years back. Right now I primarily work in Mayhem Pro Wrestling, and World Championship Wrestling of America though. The latter two being my favorites to date. Not only are they class act operations and take really good care of me, but mainly because backstage there are no real egos. It's just guys working hard trying to put on the best matches they possibly can for the people. That’s what it's all about. For me anyways.

4. I saw on your website that you are one half of the tag team TNT. Tell our readers more about this team and what we can expect from the two of you.

I've known Cory a couple of years now and we have become really close friends. We thought our styles would gel pretty good as a team, and so far we were right. He's a great guy to have in your corner. I know I can trust him to keep the match up to par when I tag out, so that’s always a plus. If we didn't trust each the way we do, no way would there even be a T-N-T. As for our future, I'm sure we will do really well in 2006.

5. What were some of the highlights for you in your career over the past years?

Well for one actually being booked for the NWA was a real treat. We all know it's not the same NWA today as it was when we were all growing up, but to wrestle under the NWA banner and to have people believe in me and my work to put me a relative nobody on the card with some huge names. It was really an Honor. Plus, I have been inducted to a couple Hall of fames over the years. EWF's back in February of 2001 and this past September by the WCWA. Winning championships and having the respect of the fans is one thing, but to really have the respect of your peers is totally different thing. It's an extreme honor and I feel remarkably blessed.

6. What do you hope to accomplish personally in the future?

Ahh, I don’t know ... I mean I've been in the business since '91. Wrestling has always just been a hobby for me. A lot of people say I could have made it if I had pushed harder, but wrestling is just my outlet, not my life. I have held myself back more so then anyone else could have. As for goals ... I just wanna stay healthy and keep my performance level up. As long as the fans get their money's worth, thats all that makes me happy.

7. What can fans expect from your matches in the federations you work for?

Hey, when you buy a ticket with my name on the card rest assured I'll give you everything I have on that given night.

8. At times do you surprise yourself with your success?

Honestly I have at times. I like try to be the most humble guy about things. I have no ego, no big head. I consider myself more of a team player then a locker room leader. But because of my experience guys do look to me for advise because I have done it so long and I do produce good matches. When I'm put in there with a guy that can really go and has a similar style as mine, I have amazed myself before. Makes me think what if? You know?

9. Do you like to compete in singles matches or in tag team matches?

I like both really. But there is just something about working as a heel in singles matches. I'm the most-un-heelish person you'll ever meet, so It's fun to explore that side of my personality. I just like to create. With tag matches there is more to work with.

10. Where you get your in ring personality from? Are you like that every day as well?

Right now, as face ... of course. I'm very passionate about what we do. I love to express that to the fans.

11. Do you have any tips for someone that is just starting out in wrestling?

Get properly trained. Mainly by someone with credentials to back up what they preach. Our business is so open now. So many guys out there claim they can teach you how to be a pro wrestler but are just trying to make that quick buck. I'm all about respecting the business and that really makes me mad.

12. What was the worst injury that you suffered in the ring?

I've been blessed really, but after so many years of abuse my body is all banged up. My hip and my neck hurt. My knees ache everyday and probably will for the rest of my life, but I have no regrets. It was all worth it.

13. Thanks for your time today. Anything else you would like to add?

I just want to say thank you for having me on. Thank you to all the fans and God bless. Be sure to check me out on www.geocities.com/troymiller1 or at www.wcwarulz.com and www.mayhemprowrestling.com
