Summer Rae Profile

The beautiful Danielle Moinet was born November 28, 1983 in Manhasset, New York. After attending university, she acted as a team captain and cornerback for the Lingerie Football League.

She had signed to a developmental contract with the WWE in the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) territory. Upon her debut in 2011, she appeared as a ring announcer and manager prior to being known as the in-ring persona, Summer Rae.

When FCW dissolved, Rae ended up being a ring announcer for NXT before she started actively competing again. Her target was Paige and the two engaged in a lengthy feud with either one emerging as the victor.

Rae then partook in a tournament to determine the first NXT Women’s Champion, but unfortunately lost the event. Paige became crowned the NXT Women’s Champion and Rae did not give up her championship pursuits despite never being successful.

Rae then convinced Sasha Banks to join her against Paige to win the crown, turning Banks heel in the process. Banks and Rae would team together and be known collectively as the BFFs (Beautiful Fierce Females). Together the two had mixed success and Rae solo did not fare well, losing to Natalya, Bayley, Paige and Emma.

After a brief period on the Raw main roster, Rae returned to NXT and fought against Becky Lynch in Lynch’s debut match. She also earned a shot at the Divas Championship held by Charlotte which she lost.

She then appeared as part of Raw roster, acting as the valet/dance partner for Fandango. She would appear in a mixed tag team match alongside Fandango against the Great Khali and Natalya to a victory. She later lost to Natalya in singles competition.

For a period thereafter, Rae’s career started to flounder. She lost dance-off competitions against Emma, she lost a chance to become Divas champion against AJ Lee and she was fired from being Fandango’s dance partner.

After a brief period off to appear in a crappy movie, Rae re-appeared and started to feud with Layla, Fandango’s new dance partner. The two battled for Fandango’s affections and ultimately squared off against on another at the Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View event which Rae lost due to the fact that Fandango was the biased referee.

Layla and Rae would continue to fight until they decided to actually work together and go against the arrogant Fandango. Thus, the alliance known as “The Slayers” was born. The team had mixed success before disbanding when Layla required surgery in January of 2015.

She was then involved in a brief storyline involving the Miz and Damien Sandow which went nowhere meaningful. She then entered a feud against Dolph Ziggler and his valet Lana. Rae affiliated herself in an on-screen relationship with Rusev and the two would face Ziggler and Lana in mixed matches and singles competition.

The two broke up when Rusev turned down a marriage proposal from Rae and it was revealed that Rusev was actually engaged to Lana, Ziegler’s valet. Rae would then act as a referee during a match pitting Ziggler against Rusev with Ziggler winning of course.

Rae then started to manage Tyler Breeze for a short stint and gained some in-ring victories against Paige, Alicia Fox and Brie Bella. She would go on to affiliate herself with former rival Emma and Team BAD (Naomi and Tamina Snuka) to losing efforts.

In July of 2016, Rae was sidelined with an injury and has not been able to return to active competition ever since.

It is a shame that Rae’s injury has affected her career to such a great extended but all we as fans can do is hope that she recuperates and reruns to future action in the squared circle.
