WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair talked about Goldberg possibly winning the 2017 Royal Rumble and more during the latest edition of “The Ric Flair Show. According to Flair, he didn’t see the reports of WWE planning Brock Lesnar vs. Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida next year. However, he doesn’t think that WWE will book the match. “I see Shane vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania, that’s what I see, that would really draw money considering the unknown animosity, which nobody seems to understand or know, but clearly there is some.” Fans might notice that Triple H and Shane McMahon have not been shown on-screen at the same time since Shane’s return last February. So, that could be because of the real-life animosity between the two or they are being smart and holding off for a potential match. It could also be a mix of both.
I should note that Triple H vs. Seth Rollins was planned for last year’s WrestleMania but injuries to some of the top talent caused WWE to reshuffle their plans. I could see Rollins vs. Triple H at Mania 33.
When asked about the future of McMahon’s in-ring career following his injury at the Survivor Series PPV event. Flair was told that he wasn’t hurt in the match and that lives for the thrills of performing in the ring. “He’s definitely not doing it for the money, he just enjoys it, so why take something away from him that he enjoys.”
