River City Sports Festival Karate, Wrestling Final Matches to Go Down at Rumble in River City | Mason City, Iowa

MASON CITY, IA – April 22, 2014 |Ronin’ Productions LLC and event organizers announced today that they will shine the spotlight on select 2014 Karate and Wrestling Tournament finals matches during the River City Sports Festival’s [RCSF] headlining show, Rumble in River City–a star-studded wrestling spectacular featuring former and current superstars from the WCW, WWE, NWA and TNA/Impact pro wrestling organizations.

In addition, tournament champions from all of the competitions at the RCSF will be honored Saturday night, May 10, between matches at Rumble in River City.

Ernest “The Cat” Miller, former WCW wrestling superstar and commissioner of RCSF, said: “There’s no better way to celebrate the tenacity, athleticism and strength of our amateur karate and wrestling competitors than to showcase their championship matches during what will be the grandest show in the Iowa area. We will also be joined at Rumble in River City by the tournament champions who win in the other competitions at this year’s event. It will certainly be a night to remember for all of these athletes and sports enthusiasts competing to be the best of the best.”

The RCSF, sponsored by Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers, is set for May 9 – 11, 2014, for both individual and team competitors. All event information and tournament registration can be found at RCSportsFestival.com. The RCSF event will feature archery, basketball, dance, karate, power lifting, roller derby, softball, tennis and wrestling. Competitions will be held at North Iowa Area Community College [NIACC], while Mason City Parks and Recreation will host the softball and tennis tournaments, and the Mohawk Archery Club will host the archery contests.

Meanwhile, former NWA, WWE, WCW and current TNA/Impact superstars will grapple Saturday night, May 10, 2014, when they enter the squared circle at NIACC. Rumble in River City tickets are still free for the first 1,000 amateur competitors who register in advance for RCSF. Already announced on the card are female pro wrestling icon Gorgeous George; Disco Inferno; former NFL Atlanta Falcons cheerleader and WCW Nitro Girl Chae; TNA Superstar Garett Bischoff, the son of pro wrestling icon Eric Bischoff; and Dan “The Beast” Severn, the only UFC Triple Crown Champion and former NWA Superstar. Severn will also host a mixed-martial arts clinic May 9, delivering a karate demonstration.

Also appearing as a special guest during the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is former UCLA and NBA star Tracy Murray.
