TNA Spending $300,000 to Run Major Venue In New York City

11

– Wrestle-1 announced that Seiki Yoshioka will take on TNA X Division Champion Sanada this Saturday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

– TNA will be spending $300,000 to run three shows at the famed Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City this coming June, July and August. This was described as an “insane” move by TNA to spend that much money. The $300,000 is for the building rental and production work.

One TNA source theorized that this TNA is trying to impress Spike TV, which is located in New York City, as the two sides still haven’t reached a new agreement on their TV deal. It’s believed that TNA negotiated the deal with Hammerstein and Spike wasn’t involved so TNA is likely paying the full bill here.

  1. tna does not have anybody on their roster with name value that would appeal to the audience. going to new york to do an event will be a fail. there a desprite company taking too many chances.. -my opinion

    • They got some guys from ECW still, don’t they? I don’t know if Bully “Bubba” Ray is enough of a draw to pack the place for 3 months though.

      • exactly, he’s not. they should of hired heyman when they had the chance cause he could of utilize their characters better so why could be better delvoped.

      • I honestly dont care if people dont agree wit me, TNA Doesnt draw, they dont have a Big enough name guy on there roster that appeals to mainstream. Sorry but doing Flying Spot monkey s*** isnt enough! NOBODY F***ING CARES… why do you think tna does bad buy rates on ppv’s?? why do you think they have low ratings?? why do you think they let people go consistently?? why do you think universal studios didnt renew they’re lease and now they have to be forced to go on the road and struggle with money?? why do you think they have 80% of empty arenas when they do ppv’s???? Go ahead and respond to that..

        • its true in some ways but wwe doesnt draw more fans either infact they had alot more before, they just market everything. tna is still a fine wrestling company with alot of talent. and ecw didnt do well in the rating either..wcw you name one company that survived wwe. everyone compares it to wwe.
