Trent Barreta Says He Didn’t Have Fun In WWE

Trent-on-Impact

Brandon Lewis of 1495 Sports recently interviewed former WWE Superstar Trent Barreta at an Impact Championship show where he notably says that his five-year tenure with WWE that ended in January was not enjoyable.

“Every indy show I do, it’s so much different [than] what I did for the past five years in WWE, it’s an opportunity to do whatever I want and have fun most of all,” said Barreta. “[Because] for five years I wasn’t getting to just have fun. And I’m just really having a blast now, so I just look forward to every match.”

Embedded in the video below is footage from the interview with the former WWE Superstar.

That’s because WWE just takes indy talent so that the indy circuit won’t build up as a competitor. (Look what they did to ROH) They hate competition and when they acquire the indy people they use them as jobbers or to squash their names and reputations so they won’t go anywhere else.

    • Chief Duke

      Very good analogy!!

I can give you a list of names that invalidates your comment. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Kassius Ohno…shall I go on? All guys who made names for themselves outside WWE and have achieved some measure of success while on WWE’s payroll.

If you want to succeed, you can’t expect the company you work for to make it happen. You have to make them see you’re worth using and worth making money by using. Hogan, Austin, and Cena took the ball and ran with it when they got the opportunity. Trent Barreta is hardly a footnote in WWE’s history.

      • Louisa Baton

No you can just explain the ones after CM Punk and Daniel Bryant. I hardly see or hear about the others and CM Punk is rarely seen. I think I’ve heard of 2 of them and wasn’t Ohno released. That kind of says something right there doesn’t it?

        • Mike Arienti

No, Ohno was not released. He was told to get in shape.
