Diabate announced his retirement prior to Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 37 contest with Ilir Latifi in London.
“I’ve got plans,” said Diabate, in an interview with MMAjunkie.com. “I want to open up a Snake Team in central Paris. I’ve got some acting to do. I’ve just put so many things to the side for 22 years.
“When you want to be a professional fighter and compete at this kind of level, you’ve got to be 100-percent focused.”
“I’ve had a fantastic career,” he said. “I’ve enjoyed myself. That’s it. It’s time to move on.”
