2/7 PW Morning Report: Smackdown Fallout, Tournament Rumors, Graves & Booker T Drama, New Schedule, More

It’s the return of the PW Morning Recap y’all!

We have a somewhat new schedule to announce. We’ll still be doing the written PW Morning Recap every weekday morning Monday through Friday to catch you up on the latest in wrestling news. Starting today we’ll be doing a new audio show called PW Live on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at 3PM ET to recap and review WWE RAW and Smackdown Live. For the time being we’e also going to do an experimental PW Live on Friday afternoons at 3PM ET to discuss the “new and improved” IMPACT Wrestling.

Monday’s show ended with Elias scoring a massive upset victory over 16-time world champion John Cena, followed by both men being completely demolished by Braun Strowman. There were a record number of women’s wrestling segments including the announcement of all five challengers in the women’s Elimination Chamber. We also got Asuka vs. Bayley, Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt and The Miz vs. Apollo Crews in a great night for in-ring wrestling.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens fought to a “no contest” with WWE Champion AJ Styles getting involved, leading to a triple threat match for the title being booked for the main event of WWE Fastlane. Charlotte Flair steamrolled through the Riott Squad, the Bludgeon Brothers put themselves in the path of Smackdown Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso, and Bobby Roode successfully defended the United States Championship.

IMPACT Wrestling is solving their live event problems by lending their roster to independent promotions and filming the shows for later distribution. Last week they partnered with WrestlePro for a show called “Brace for IMPACT” that drew about 1,000 people. The event was headlined by former WWE Superstar Tenille Dashwood (fka Emma) taking on Angelina Love. The IMPACT stars on the card included Alberto el Patron, Moose, Eli Drake, Johnny Impact, Fallah Baah and a few others.

WrestlePro: Brace for IMPACT will air this Friday on the new IMPACT Twitch channel, which airs classic TNA content on a 24/7 loop. We’ll have complete and exclusive live coverage of the entire event, and you’ll be able to watch the show completely free right here on PW. Full results from the show (spoilers).
