Bobby Lashley vs. Erik
Erik actually gets in a bunch of offense early on, delivering a pair of his absolutely brutal knee strikes. He lays in some kicks to the legs and body, hits the ropes but runs into a spinebuster. Lashley sets up for the Dominator and gets it, but Erik kicks out at two-and-a-half. He quickly applies the Hurt Lock and takes the submission to the mat, and it’s over.
Winner: Bobby Lashley
Kevin Owens is interviewed backstage and mocks Aleister Black’s whole dark, shady gimmick where he spends all his time alone in dark rooms. He says Black is going to find out what happens when you pick a fight with Kevin Owens. Black is shown watching the interview from a distance.
The steel cage is being lowered!
It’s been like 15 minutes and the cage match still hasn’t started. We got two commercial breaks, a Twix ad from R-Truth and Liv Morgan, and a video package for Clash of Champions. They also recapped Mandy Rose being traded to Raw from Smackdown this weekend.
Steel Cage Match: Seth Rollins vs. Dominik Mysterio
I don’t know if it was an issue on my internet provider’s end or on Sling TV’s end but I had a “LOADING” screen for the first ten minutes of this match. I don’t know what happened, but I get the feeling based on their pacing that Dom got the crap beaten out of him for most of this.
The feed finally comes back to Rey Mysterio sliding a kendo stick through the cage for his son to go wild with. He throws Rollins into the cage once, twice and a third time, then delivers a big spinebuster! Dominik Mysterio is running wild!
The door is open, as Rey Mysterio cheers on his son. Buddy Murphy runs out and tries to attack Rey, but accidentally kicks the door into Rollins’ face! He realizes what he’s done and begins to climb, trying to knock Dominik off the cage himself, but gets thrown off the top to the floor!
Dom once again begins to climb. Rollins is slow to get up, but manages to get a hand on his boot at the last second. Dom kicks him to the floor and almost makes it over, but Rollins does a big high jump and superplexes him all the way down! Falcon Arrow! 1… 2… NO! Rollins is done messing around, and hits not one, but two Curb Stomps. 1… 2… 3.
Winner: Seth Rollins
After the match Rollins embraces Buddy Murphy and all seems okay between them, until he smashes Murphy into the barricade and then slams him head first into the cage door. Rollins tells Mama Mysterio “I hope she turns out better”, in reference to her daughter.
