Ring of Honor star Alex Shelley made a surprise appearance at Saturday night’s EVOLVE 133 event in Michigan, reuniting with his old tag team partner KUSHIDA in a special moment for the fans in attendance.
KUSHIDA, one of several WWE NXT Superstars who are on tour with EVOLVE this weekend, had just finished wrestling a stand-out match against J.D. Drake when Shelley came to the ring and embraced his fellow Time Splitter.
The two were a major part of the New Japan Pro-Wrestling junior heavyweight division for quite some time, winning the 2012 Super Jr. Tag Team Tournament, as well as the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships on two occasions.
According to EVOLVE owner and operator Gabe Sapolsky, KUSHIDA had no idea that his former tag team partner and friend, not to mention Michigan’s own, was supposed to be a part of the show.
Now that my friends was too sweet as the original #timesplitters just reunited inside a @WWNEVOLVE ring fitting the weekend of @njpwworld #SUPERJCUP2019 @fakekinkade and @KUSHIDA_0904 #evolve133 pic.twitter.com/X9XzTMtBtX
