They’ve done it again…
Tickets for All Elite Wrestling’s debut television taping at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. went on sale Friday at noon, and sold out in around four hours.
Originally many fans believed that tickets had sold in less than three minutes, as the TicketMaster website was experiencing heavy traffic. More seats were quickly made available and sold at high rate, consistently throughout the afternoon until the promotion announced that they had officially packed the venue.
Cody Rhodes noted on Twitter that they should be opening up more seats in the coming weeks as they nail down the production setup for the show and free up areas that are currently blocked off.
AEW’s next stop will be a return to the Sears Centre in Chicago over Labor Day weekend for ALL OUT, but after the pay-per-view the fledgling promotion will be completely focussed on bringing professional wrestling back to the TNT network for the first time in more than 18 years.
It was recently announced that the television taping event, stated for Wednesday October 2nd, will see the crowning of the first ever AEW Women’s World Champion. Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks will also be in action against Chris Jericho and his two mystery partners, and the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes will face the up-and-coming Sammy Guevara.
