As we noted moments ago, WWE Raw star Paige has been informed by WWE officials that the latest injury she suffered back on December 28th has resulted in the company’s inability to clear her to return to the ring. This news has effectively ended the WWE in-ring career of the Absolution leader.
Despite the major career ending injury, however, PWInsider.com is reporting that Paige is very well liked by WWE management, so they will likely continue using her in an out of the ring capacity, similar to how the company is using Daniel Bryan.
The possibilities for Paige in WWE include a return to Total Divas and WWE Studios projects. She could also be used in a coaching capacity in NXT or some other type of behind the scenes role.
In addition to the above, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and WWE Studios are producing the movie “Fighting with My Family”, which is a biopic on Paige and her famous British wrestling family. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 14th of this year, so WWE will likely use the former Divas Champion in a promotional capacity for the movie.
Paige made her WWE main roster debut the night after WrestleMania 30, and picked up a surprise WWE Divas Title win over AJ Lee, while she was still the NXT Women’s Champion. The Divas Title win made her the first and only woman to ever simultaneously hold both the NXT and Divas Titles.
