As we have been reporting throughout the week, rumors continue to swirl regarding the status of former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville, with some sources claiming the 205 Live star has quit WWE.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Neville did indeed walk out of Raw this past Monday in Indianapolis, before the show began. Neville was originally scheduled to face Enzo Amore in a non-title match on Raw, however with Neville’s departure, the match was changed to Enzo vs Kalisto, with Kalisto getting the win and becoming the new Cruiserweight Champion.
The Observer report adds Neville walked out on Raw when he learned he was scheduled to lose to Enzo, a creative idea with which he did not agree. This prompted WWE to make a last minute decision, and Vince McMahon himself decided to go with Kalisto winning the title as opposed to having Enzo defeat another WWE Cruiserweight.
With regards to Neville’s current WWE status, some sources believe he is definitely gone from the company, however WWE is asserting that as of this writing Neville has yet to be released and remains under contract.
Since initial WWE plans never called for Enzo to lose the tile, the ultimate plan in WWE is for Enzo to get the title back, and with him getting a rematch at WWE TLC on October 22nd, the title change could happen at the event.
