Following Monday night’s historic announcement of the first-ever all-women’s WWE PPV event called WWE Evolution, taking place on October 28th in Long Island, New York, below are more backstage notes for the event according to Wrestling Observer Radio.
-The event is expected to feature every woman in WWE in some capacity. As noted, multiple title matches, including the Raw, Smackdown, NXT and NXT UK Titles are expected to be defended, and all of the women in WWE, including names like Ronda Rousey and names rarely used on TV like NXT star Aliyah, are expected to appear on the show. This also includes all of the NXT UK roster members including Toni Storm and more.
-With the number of women being featured on WWE Evolution, Meltzer speculated a possible Battle Royal match could be taking place in order to get all of the women to appear on the show. In addition to current WWE stars appearing, it was also announced that legends such as Lita, Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix and more will also be appearing.
-As for why Vince McMahon’s TV role was limited on WWE Raw this week, Dave Meltzer noted that Vince does not want to appear on TV as much anymore as he is looking older at 72 years of age, and he is now allowing Triple H and Stephanie McMahon to act as the McMahon “faces” of WWE.
