Former WWE star Big Cass has been announced to make his first post-WWE independent appearance for Big Time Wrestling on September 21st, and his ring name will be Big Cazz, a variation of his WWE ring name.
Cass was released from WWE back in June of this year, after Vince McMahon called a meeting between him and Cass backstage, and personally released the seven-foot superstar from his contract.
There was an incident back in May involving a little person and Cass going into business for himself, that’s been heavily reported on as the primary reason for his firing, but in reality it was the culmination of a bunch of different factors that ultimately spelled the end of Cass’ WWE career. Reports cited a combination of factors including incidents of public intoxication and “conduct issues”, along with incidents that took place during WWE’s most recent overseas tour, as reasons why Cass was released.
Cass was under a 90-day no-compete contract with WWE, which means he will become an unrestricted free agent, and able to appear on any promotion’s television shows, at the end of September of this year.
