IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho made a “surprise” appearance at today’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 press conference in Tokyo, Japan, and quite literally came to blows with his upcoming challenger, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s most “tranquilo” superstar Tetsuya Naito.
Y2J instigated the fight after verbally berating his Tokyo Dome opponent, calling him a “stupid son of a b****” multiple times before threatening to take his title belt and “shove it down his f***ing throat” during their highly anticipated Wrestle Kingdom bout.
Naito responded by spitting water in the champion’s face, resulting in a short brawl between the two that was quickly broken up by Young Lions. In a great scene setting the stage for what should be a tremendous performance, a calm Naito stood over a restrained, screaming Jericho with a grin on his face, telling his foe to be “tranquilo” as he lashed out in anger.
Check out the footage below. The entire Wrestle Kingdom 13 press conference is now available for viewing, completely free, on NJPW World.
