DJZ Announces Return, Big Match Set, Lucha Underground Star Joins Twitter and the Indie World Reacts

Early last month, DJ Z announced an injury in which he suffered 3 ruptured discs in his neck. The injury took place at an AAW show in LaSalle, IL, and I unfortunately witnessed it with my own eyes as DJZ took a weird spill no more than a foot away from me, just one week after winning the AAW Heritage Championship.

It was astonishing to me that he finished the match after telling us “I think I’m hurt” after hitting a dive onto Ethan Page and landing awkwardly, and then to hear that he performed at Evolve just a few days later with a numb arm a few days later. It’s a testament to what guys like DJZ will do for the love of the business and the fans.

It’s a pleasure to be able to report that DJZ has announced that he will be returning to action in February, and that his calendar is filling up quickly. He has also announced on his Twitter page earlier today that on Saturday, April 14th, he will be wrestling none other than Rey Mysterio at IWC Night of the Superstars 7 in Meadville, PA.

Independent Wrestling Star Joins Twitter

In more indie news, Lucha Underground star Dante Fox (AKA AR Fox) has finally joined Twitter. It has been a small running joke with some other indie stars that Fox has not been a part of the Twitter community. Many other stars use the popular social media medium to announce matches, appearances, and even sell merchandise but Fox has been noticeably absent until now.

In hilarious fashion, other indie stars have already made it known that Fox is now part of Twitter, including Sami Callihan & ACH. Welcome to 2018 Fox.
