Current EVOLVE Wrestling star Shane Strickland responded to a recent Tweet concerning NXT’s main event from December 19.
That main event saw Johnny Gargano defeat Aleister Black in a steel cage match. But the outcome was not the only surprise of the bout, as Tommaso Ciampa gave Gargano an assist, which led to the win. Ciampa and Gargano were once known as DIY, one of the most popular tag teams in NXT history.
Strickland’s comment was in response to a query asking for thoughts about the shocking moment. Shane believes that wrestlers should be given the chance to show what they can do and that fans should not depend on spoilers to tell them what happened.
But what did happen on December 19? Is DIY truly back together again or is this merely just a one night reunion? Logic says that there’s just too much bad blood between Gargano and Ciampa for this pairing to be anything but a temporary one. Of course WWE’s unpredictability will likely keep fans guessing about this angle in the weeks to come.
Gargano is slated to return to EVOLVE Wrestling for two events in January of 2019.
Cant rely on spoilers. Give the wrestlers chances to perform their art and not try to predict it.
Especially when these guys are the absolute best at generating emotion https://t.co/109nLOVDeZ
