Former Mae Young Classic Competitor & Current Stardom Champ Reportedly Signs WWE Contract

22-year-old New Zealander Toni Storm has been rumored to be in talks with WWE since competing in the Mae Young Classic, where she made it to the semifinal round before losing to the eventual tournament winner, Kairi Sane.

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Storm has indeed signed a contract with the company, but it’s a standard WWE U.K. Superstar deal and not a full-on NXT deal that would force her to relocate to Orlando, FL. As with the other stars under similar contracts, she’ll have free reign to take indie bookings so long as the promotions are on WWE’s list of approved destinations. But at the end of the day, if the company needs her for any reason, her obligation to WWE will contractually always come first.
