Wally Yamaguchi, known in WWE as Yamaguchi-San, has passed away.
Yamaguchi worked in Vince McMahon’s company in 1998 as the manager for Kaientai, which featured current New Japan star Taka Michinoku. Tokyo Championship Wrestling President Jimmy Suzuki posted the news on his Twitter on March 9. Suzuki said that Yamaguchi had a stroke last year and was also struggling with heart problems since then.
New Japan historian and writer Chris Charlton added that Yamaguchi also worked as a referee in All-Japan Pro Wrestling.
No further details have been revealed about Yamaguchi’s death. Suzuki said that his March 13 show will be a tribute to Yamaguchi’s memory.
Famous for managing Kaientai in the WWF, Yamaguchi also refereed in All Japan and wrote for Gong magazine. https://t.co/msQgkKD9Yy
