#13 – WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar
Yep. In this writer’s opinion, Brock Lesnar is the single worst champion in WWE today. To be fair, it has nothing to do with him. He’e still the “Beast Incarnate”. But as noted, the measure of a great champion is how much I actually care about their title defenses.
There hasn’t been a single time in 2018 where I’ve cared about a Brock Lesnar title defense. I mostly blame WWE’s handling of Roman Reigns. The two headlined WrestleMania and I actually fell asleep halfway through the match. I didn’t even bother paying attention to their rematch at Greatest Royal Rumble. They’ve effectively killed any and all buzz surrounding their rivalry, wasted years of build, and with the champion hardly ever appearing on television the Universal title just doesn’t matter. Having two world titles already makes them redundant – having one of them that barely exists has me wondering why it’s a thing at all.
#12 – RAW Tag Team Champions Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy
I so badly wanted this union to be good. But then, I’ve been hoping Woken Matt Hardy would finally take off for the better part of eight months now…
When they faced off in the Ultimate Deletion on Raw prior to WrestleMania there was hope. When they won the tag titles at Greatest Royal Rumble I was into it. But since then they’ve taken a backseat to everything else on Raw, with a division made up entirely of comedy characters and teams that were far better in NXT. Seriously, why did they even bother calling up The Revival or The Authors of Pain? I just don’t care. I really, really want to, but I don’t.
