As reported, Jake Hager’s (2-0) third fight in a Bellator MMA ring ended in a “No Contest” on Friday night in Connecticut, after the All Elite Wrestling star delivered not one, but two knees to his opponent’s groin. DAZN USA has posted the complete opening fight from Bellator 231, which you can check out below.
In the first minute Hager took fellow heavyweight Anthony Garrett (4-2) into the cage and connected with short kicks to the inner thigh. Shortly after he went for a few knee lifts to the jaw before once again backing his opponent into the cage. Hager then connected with another knee that apparently caught Garrett low.
The referee briefly stopped the fight to give Garrett, who was bleeding from the nose, a chance to catch his breath, and also issued a warning to Hager. The fight then resumed, and the former WWE world champion delivered a second knee, this time definitely hitting low and immediately dropping Garrett to the mat.
Hager was clearly not happy after the referee stopped the fight and ruled it a “No Contest”.
