Impact Wrestling Intro

The intro video for this week’s episode of GFW: Impact Wrestling airs, kicking off tonight’s show on Pop TV.

The LAX & Konnan In The Clubhouse

We see The LAX in their clubhouse. Konnan says “he’s in.” He said tonight is going to be the biggest night in LAX history and that they would officially unveil their new member. He also announced that tonight’s main event will see Alberto El Patron, Dos Caras and El Hijo de Dos Caras take on The LAX.

Super X Cup Semifinals
Drago vs. Dezmond Xavier

A promotional video package for the Super X Cup airs. Up next is a semifinal contest pitting Drago against Dezmond Xavier.

The two men make their way to the ring and our first match of the evening, as well as the latest match in the Super X Cup tournament, is now underway.

Drago and Xavier exchange some back-and-forth action out of the gate. Drago hits a big dive. We head to a mid-match commercial break.

We’re back now and the action has resumed inside the squared circle. The match has definitely been given some time, as we’re at approximately the ten minute mark now as Drago is firmly in control of the offense.

After eating a series of devastating kicks, Xavier gets up and hits a reverse clothesline and a cutter. He blasts Drago with a running forearm as his comeback continues. Xavier hits a huge Swanton over the top onto Drago on the floor. Eventually, Xavier hits his Final Flash finisher off the top-rope for the 1-2-3 and the victory to advance in the tournament.

Following the match, Jeremy Borash interviews Dezmond Xavier. He said he beat Drago and made it to the finals of the tournament. He says he feels destined to win it all.

WINNER and ADVANCING in the Super X Cup Tournament: Dezmond Xavier

McKenzie Mitchell Interviews EC3

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell catches up with Ethan Carter III (EC3). EC3 says Moose was a good opponent, but he will also be battling the judges, not just Moose. EC3 promises he will win the match within two rounds and claims he is inside Moose’s head going into the contest.

McKenzie Mitchell Interviews Alberto El Patron & Family

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell also catches up with Alberto El Patron, Dos Caras and El Hijo de Dos Caras ahead of their main event later this evening against The LAX. El Patron says everyone in Mexico knows — you can’t trust Konnan. He asks if he can trust his brother. He talks about becoming friends with Konnan in Japan.

Karen Jarrett ends up coming in and talking about how family is everything and that if you can’t trust family, who can you trust? This leads to Bruce Prichard entering the picture as well. He told the family to get ready for their match and that he needed to speak to Karen privately.

Trevor Lee vs. Mumbai Cat

Both Lee and Cat are in the ring now. Our second singles contest of the evening is now officially underway here on Pop TV.

Lee, who still has the X-Division Championship, throws Cat to the outside early on. He punts him in the face from the ring apron. This leads to The Mumbai Cats switching place at ringside, with the opposite Cat coming out from underneath the ring and entering the foray.

Lee rolls the other, fresh Cat into the ring, and things go bad for him from there. The fresh Mumbai Cat blasts Lee and nails him with a series of clotheslines of the ropes, followed by some big right hands. He lands a good kick and a DDT before heading to the top rope and hitting his Dive for the pinfall victory in what was only a two-minute match.

After the match, Mumbai Cat takes off his mask to reveal that he is, in fact, Sonjay Dutt. Security ends up coming out with Bruce Prichard.

Dutt grabs a microphone and declares that he was the rightful X-Division Champion. He then challenges Trevor Lee to an X-Division Championship match at the Destination X event on August 17th. He says they should hang the title belt in the air and make it a ladder match. Prichard tells Dutt to leave.

WINNER: Mumbai Cat

Jeremy Borash & The Pope

Jeremy Borash promotes the upcoming weekend GFW live events. He and The Pope talk about Sonjat Dutt as replays are shown of the unmasking and 8/17 ladder match challenge from the previous segment. Josh Mathews then declared that the ladder match in two weeks was now officially set.

Bobby Lashley American Top Team (ATT) Training Video

Borash then kicks it to a video that shows Bobby Lashley training at the American Top Team MMA gym in Florida. Several members of the team, including Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, were interviewed about Lashley. The gang, including ATT owner Dan Lambert, discuss Lashley splitting his attention and talents between both the MMA and pro wrestling worlds.

Backstage: Joseph Park & Grado

Backstage, we see Joseph Park and Grado talking. Park tells Grado that he needs to get married tonight.

Backstage: Kongo Kong Goes Off

Backstage we see Eddie Edwards, but instead of preparing for his match against Eli Drake, he is getting beaten up by Kongo Kong. We head to another commercial break. When we return from the break, Kongo Kong is still beating people up backstage because Grado wants to marry Laurel Van Ness.

Grand Championship
EC3 vs. Moose

It’s time for our Impact Grand Championship match between Moose and Ethan Carter III (EC3). Round one sees scores of 29-28 for EC3. Moose charged him to open the round, however EC3 quickly took control on the outside of the ring. He was in firm control of the action when the time expired.

The second round saw Moose earn scores of 29-28. He splashed onto EC3 in the corner as their was 30 seconds remaining in the round. Moose then hit a diving dropkick on EC3 in the corner. EC3 went to the top, but Moose hit another dropkick. We head to a commercial break as things are 1-1 heading into the third round.

We’re back from the break and the third round action is in progress inside the ring. The third round saw Moose hit a big kick and powerbomb early on for a nearfall. EC3 hit a One Percenter at one point for a nearfall of his own. Moose hit a sitdown chokeslam just as time in the third round expired. EC3 wins the title on a split decision. We head to a commercial break.

WINNER via SPLIT DECISION (D’Amore 10-10, Dutch 10-10, Prichard 10-8) and NEW Grand Champion: Ethan Carter III

Mario Bokara, Fallah Bahh & KM vs. Suicide, Braxton Sutter & Grado

A vignette airs for OVE, which will debut at the Destination X event on August 17th. From there we head back down to the ring for our latest match of the evening, which will be a six-match tag-team contest.

Mario Bokara, Fallah Bahh and KM will be taking on the trio of Suicide, Braxton Sutter and Grado in this six-man tag-team match, which is now officially underway here on Pop TV.

Early into the match, Sutter hits a massive dive onto all three of his team’s opponents on the floor outside of the ring. Suicide then follows with a dive of his own. Grado goes to the top to do the same, but is ultimately thrown off by Bokara.

After a bunch of spots involving all six guys, the smoke clears, the dust settles and after Sutter hits KM with a kick and he trips over Grado, Grado rolls him up for the pin and the win for his team at the four minute mark.

Following the match, Grado gets on the mic and says he really needs an answer from Laurel Van Ness. Joseph Park ends up bringing her out to the ring.

Grado thanks her for coming out and just as he goes to continue speaking, Kongo Kong’s music hits. Kongo slowly heads down to the ring.

Laurel Van Ness goes to the corner as Kongo Kong gets in the ring. Kongo and Grado go at it. Grado tries to fight off Kong but is put down with force by Kongo with a big slam. Allie tries to get Sutter to help Grado but Sutter refuses and heads back to the backstage area.

Kongo heads to the top rope with intentions of landing a big splash on Grado, however Laurel Van Ness stopped it and Park pulled Grado out of the ring.

WINNERS: Suicide, Braxton Sutter & Grado

McKenzie Mitchell Interviews The LAX

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell is with The LAX. Konnan calls her “random white girl number five.” He vows that a new era of violence is about to begin. He said Alberto El Patron lied to him and that his other mistake was trusting his partners. Konnan reminds him that revenge is a dish that is best served cold. We head to another commercial break.

The LAX vs. Alberto El Patron, Dos Caras & El Hijo de Dos Caras

Our six man tag-team main event contest is up next. Tonight’s main event features The LAX taking on the trio of Alberto El Patron, Dos Caras and El Hijo de Dos Caras. The match is now officially underway here on Pop TV.

Kicking things off for their respective teams will be Dos Caras and Homicide. Dos Caras fires away with some right hands to break out of a headlock. El Hijo de Dos Caras hits a big dive onto Homocide on the floor. In the middle of the match, Jeremy Borash throws it to a trailer for the new Pop TV original series, “Swedish Dicks.” We then head to a mid-match commercial break.

We’re back from the commercial break and the action continues inside the squared circle as our main event of the evening wraps up in the final segment of this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling on Pop TV.

Just as promised, the newest member of The LAX was introduced as Low Ki made his way out to the ring to interfere in the finish of the match. Low Ki, who is now the newest member of The LAX, gives the trio an assist and helps them gain the victory in tonight’s main event against The El Patron Family.
