Major League Wrestling issued the following Tweet today, furthering speculation that top Impact Wrestling stars Rey Fenix and Pentagon, aka The Lucha Bros, are headed to WWE and more specifically, NXT.
As we noted shortly after SummerSlam, both Pentagon and Fenix are not accepting any dates in 2019, which is typically a sign that a talent is heading to WWE.
It’s worth noting, however, that both Pentagon and Fenix are under contract with Lucha Underground, meaning they will be unable to appear on TV for any other televised promotion until six months after the conclusion of the current season. It’s very possible Fenix and Pentagon could sign with WWE, report to the Performance Center, and work NXT live events until their no-compete clauses expire with Lucha Underground.
As for Impact Wrestling, there will be no clause preventing them from working elsewhere as soon as they finish up their runs.
It’s been an incredible 2018 for the #LuchaBros!
