“Switchblade” Jay White has chosen an allegiance, following his return to NJPW this past week where he unsuccessfully challenged IWGP Intercontinental Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 12. The former Young Lion, who has been on an international excursion with Ring of Honor for the past two years, has officially sided with the CHAOS faction, and has declared war on Kenny Omega and the Bullet Club.
Friday at NJPW’s annual New Year Dash event, which is similar to the WWE “Raw After WrestleMania”, White was called to the ring by none other than Kenny Omega and offered an official invitation to join Bullet Club as a new member. At first it looked like White would accept the induction, but then quickly turned on the “Cleaner”, taking him out with his new Blade Runner finishing manuever.
The landscape of New Japan is rapidly changing it seems. White made his return to the company in shocking display, attacking Tanahashi and branding himself as the “Anti-Ace” in his attempts to change the paradigm at Wrestle Kingdom. Now it seems he’s targeted the entire Bullet Club faction as a whole, and more specifically their leader Kenny Omega.
And it couldn’t come at a more interesting time, as Omega recently went at it with Cody Rhodes in an extremely heated exchange at New Year Dash, which has seriously called into question the club’s allegiances.
