Ring Of Honor World Television Champion Jeff Cobb recently sat down with Newsweek. In the interview, Cobb discusses this past weekend’s Survival Of The Fittest tournament, as well as teaming with ROH World Heavyweight Champion Jay Lethal.
Cobb also touched on Ring Of Honor’s upcoming co-branded event with NJPW, G1 Supercard, which is set to run in Madison Square Garden. Cobb wrestled in MSG back in 2003, and pitched the idea of a champion vs. champion match at the April 6th event.
“I amateur wrestled at Madison Square Garden in 2003, so I would love to pro wrestle there in 2019,” Cobb said. “It would be super cool if it could be myself versus whoever is the Heavyweight champion in a champion versus champion match.”
Jeff Cobb and Jay Lethal ended up winning their tag match at Survival Of The Fittest, defeating Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky of SoCal Uncensored. G1 Supercard is set for April 6th, 2019 and no matches are confirmed as of yet.
