WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was reportedly invited to last Monday’s RAW Reunion, but turned down the appearance. JR explained on his pocast, Grilling JR, that he turned the offer down, not out of anger, but due to the optics.
“I appreciated the opportunity to come back to Tampa to see all my buddies and so forth. There’s a couple of things that led to this decision, and the main thing for me was, if I had gone there, there would be a certain segment of the social media society that would’ve said, ‘Uh oh, there’s trouble in paradise. JR’s looking to bail already. He’s already back with WWE, something’s wrong with AEW.'”
JR ultimately said that he was glad that WWE did the Reunion, and that they invited him, but going would’ve sent “mixed messages,” given his prominent role with All Elite Wrestling. “I want to be loyal to my brand and my team”
