Jim Ross Retires from Wrestling

WWE announced that Jim Ross notified the company that he will be retiring today to “focus on his personal business endeavors.”

Ross first joined WWE 20 years ago in 1993 and made his on-camera debut at WrestleMania IX. He worked on and off as an announcer on RAW until 2011, when he was fired in storyline by John Laurinaitis. He has appeared sporadically on WWE television ever since, and filled in for Jerry “The King” Lawler last year after Lawler suffered a heart attack.

Ross, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, has been working with the WWE development team in Florida for the past year.

Backstage Update on Jim Ross Retiring…

  1. One the classiest, nicest, most professional guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Enjoy your retirement, JR, but I hope they’ll welcome you back anytime!

    • I think she will need more money than brains, but it would be interesting if even a meeting takes place…. 🙂
