As we noted earlier today, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE 205 Live star Neville walked out of WWE Raw this past Monday night after learning he was scheduled to lose a match against Enzo Amore on the show.
PWInsider.com is reporting, however, that Neville did not walk out of Raw this week, as he was never there to begin with. The report notes the former Cruiserweight Champion did not work the previous weekend’s WWE live events, and was replaced by Mustafa Ali.
The report adds, however, that although Neville did not walk out of Raw, he is not happy in WWE, and has been pushing for his release. One idea is that he might be looking to build his name up outside of WWE, then return like Drew McIntyre did with NXT.
As for why Neville wants out of WWE, one source it noting a sore spot for the Cruiserweight was being left off this year’s WrestleMania 33 DVD. That was something Austin Aries, Neville’s WrestleMania opponent, was not happy with as well. Being left off the DVD means no royalties to the wrestlers, and WrestleMania is usually one of the highest selling WWE DVDs of the year.
As of this writing, Neville remains under contract with WWE, and it’s certainly possible the two sides could work something out, but WWE currently does not have him factored into any future story lines and he is not scheduled for any upcoming live events.
