The Very Latest On Paige’s WWE In-Ring Status and Future
With this week’s breaking news that Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared by WWE to return the ring, many fans have been wondering if the WWE decision will have any effect on Absolution leader Paige’s WWE in-ring status, as she too is not cleared to compete in WWE.
As we noted back in December, Paige suffered a neck injury during a live event match and has since been ruled medically ineligible to compete, effectively ending her in-ring career in WWE. Since sustaining the injury, the former Diva’s Champion has been relegated to a non-wrestling role as the leader of Absolution alongside Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose.
According to PWInsider.com, following WWE’s decision to clear Daniel Bryan, there has been no change in Paige’s in-ring status, and she remains uncleared to return to the ring as her injury is completely different from Bryan’s concussion-related issues.
Paige’s role in WWE going forward will be to continue leading and supporting Absolution, and she will very much be involved in promoting the WWE Studios movie “Fighting For My Family”, which is based on her life and premieres later this year.
One of the main reasons why fans began speculating on the future of Paige following the Daniel Bryan announcement is the Tweet below, which Paige issued shortly after the Daniel Bryan news broke:
Congrats @WWEDanielBryan overcoming what looked like a career ending injury to being fully cleared and ready to compete again! Real life super man. Gives hope to a lot of people to never give up on your passion! Inspiring. @WWE
