As previously reported, former world tag team champions Santana and Ortiz, collectively known as LAX, is expected to be on their way out of Impact Wrestling shortly. Their contracts with the promotion expire in early-to-mid August, and they recently dropped the titles to The North ahead of Slammiversary.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the duo has actually received “significant offers” from both AEW and WWE. Apparently there are people within both companies that believe LAX is incoming, but as of right now they have yet to make a final decision.
For obvious reasons, this is the best possible time to be a highly sought after name in the world of professional wrestling. WWE is looking to lock down anyone with a name that they can use, or perhaps more importantly keep away from AEW.
While AEW isn’t exactly looking to fill out their roster right now, they have made a serious push to feature tag team wrestling as a main event caliber attraction, and are putting their money where their mouth is with a world class tournament that will be a huge part of weekly television when it launches later this year.
