Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa seem to be on the road to reunion. The former DIY tag team partners have been crossing paths over the past several weeks, leading many fans to believe that the two are indeed coming back together.
Now Ciampa and Gargano definitely seem to firmly be on the same page. The two men once again inhabited the same airspace, this time on the January 23 edition of NXT.
Gargano interrupted North American champion Ricochet in the middle of the ring, leading to a brawl between them. Former NXT champion Aleister Black then made his presence known and went after Johnny Wrestling during the melee.
This brought out Ciampa, who rushed to Gargano’s aid. The current NXT champion and his former tag team partner were working together and that led them to a near-handshake, which would indeed have cemented their reunion.
But Johnny’s wife Candice LeRae ran out and prevented that handshake from taking place. So while it does seem that WWE is moving in the direction of a reunification, the actual move has not been made just yet. Both Tommaso and Johnny are heels, but the fans are definitely onboard with seeing them work as a unit once again. It could be that fans will finally see that moment happen at NXT Takeover: Phoenix on January 26.
